would it make sense to mount the ski to a fixture at a fixed distance from the tail, then pull from the tail so the ski bends by a fixed distance, the release it and measure the rebound with accelerometer... something like that

Duplicating the resistance of the water might be the tricky part. That would play a role in both comprehension and rebound.

  2. It is sitting in a auto wrecking yard in Simi Valley , Ca . Guess a friend of one of the owners wanted to restore it and just stored it there for years. I saw it a long time ago and asked about it. It looks like they finally want it gone. The guys who run the yard are honest dudes.

Jason's fin is like 3" DFT.... interesting.

Would be interesting to see a bottom view. Fin block is no where near the end of the ski. Good catch. Some crazy experimental piece on the versatail ? With the handle he uses , he definitely can think outside the box. What is it @lpskier ??

  4. 2018 Vapor. I’ve been waiting for the next big jump , and this one is it. I haven’t been skiing a lot in the past 5 years because of my destroyed lower back. I haven’t ran my hardest pass ( -35 @34 ) in those 5 years or even attempted it. The new ski has got me around 3 ball so far. I can ride my dirt bike for multiple days in a row no problem but skiing was just too tough on it. Now all I do is ski and my dirt bike is not liking it. Don’t want to sound corny , but this ski has got me psyched on skiing again. I look forward to the next set like I did when I was younger and had a good back. Just recently  it was ski 2 sets then have problems just walking , no skiing for a week then repeat. I continued skiing because I loved it but the pain was getting to be too much and the desire was fading. Now the fire has once again been stoked.

  5. Hey @brooksand @Chris Rossi , when are you guys coming up with a Radar gas card giveaway ? This ski is costing me money. 🤣  Between listening to Spraymakers and riding that ‘24 Vapor I’ve gone from 4 sets to 10 sets or more a week. And to make it even worse , some of those sets are 8 or 10 passes. My formerly aching back thanks you. Crazy how you guys designed a top level ski that can do everything it does yet be easy on the body. Thank you so much.

    @aupatking

When I skied on Warp I Dual Locked a G10 plate ( might have been one that @teammalibu made ) and then bolted my bindings to the G10.

When you get ready to ride the Warp reach out out to me and I will share settings and how the holy hell you are supposed to measure DFT.  Also you have to know how to drain the water out from inside the ski if you get a leak 🙂

@Horton one of these would help with the DFT. Just clamps to the end of the calipers.

  7. All high hour 2009 ‘s have 999 hours 🤣. Mine has been there for at least 5 years. Brennan nailed the fix. And yes , total hours are still registering and can be read with the proper tool.

  8. I might ending up selling it to a college kid at our tournament this weekend somewhere a lot closer to $3000. Could  even sweeten up the deal with a free 2018 Vapor. But one thing they aren’t getting is the free pair of socks that came with the new Vapor 🤣

  9. I have this 1991 Brendella for sale in Arvin Ca. Has lived it’s whole life on the same lake with 3 owners. . 1180 hours on a Ford 351 with perfect pass. It’s such a nice little boat that I haven’t really been trying to sell it even though it hasn’t been used for the past 5 years. $5000 OBO

  10. Welcome to the sight. I looked at the length of that introduction you gave us and figured I’d wait for the Readers Digest version to come out. Then I figured I’d scan it very quickly. I thought maybe I’ll come back when this episode of Spraymakers is over ,  but when I saw the part about your dad being a clown in a ski show , I figured I pause The Boys and join you at the campfire. What a story. Takes me back to my beginnings and how I knew I had to learn how to do this when I first saw a good skier.  Man I hope like hell you are a real dude and not what came up when you entered WATERSKIERS BSing AROUND A CAMPFIRE into GPT Chat 🤣.   You will get your answers and become a better skier if you hang out around here. Welcome

  11. Found this thread while searching for the @twhisper dry land edge change video. That reverse C and moving the ski with the knees under your body is above my pay grade , but that thing he does with the inside elbow and straight back arm to advance his inside hip a few times at the end of the video may be the mechanical thing you are looking for ? ?  That’s what will get you on the front of the ski and that extra fraction of a second to do so will keep you on the handle and  help you with your speed and direction. Do that and you’ll come out of the turn saying “ I’m ready “ and the boat will respond “ let’s go “    Versus “let’s go “ and you saying “ not yet “. Would be nice to hear from Terry or any other of you big dogs on where you are actually changing hip orientation from turn to turn. And where us mortals should start trying to initiate it.

    I bought two this year:

D3 NEO 2 - great ski, but currently available (67)

Radar Vapor 2024 - you’d currently have to rip it out of my cold dead hands

Or until it gets too costly to keep the ski. I just took 8 passes on my brand spanking new 24  Vapor and I felt like I only took 2. That thing glides across the water.  My gas bill is going up 🤷‍♂️

  13. I’m at your same level , and all of those same problems you mentioned happen to me when I get off the handle too early and don’t follow its path. Not trying to be rude , but if I stay connected and have correct hip orientation ( inside one advanced into turn ) my runs look  and feel great. If I get off the handle early , I end up with one or more of your same issues and it’s not pretty. Not saying an adjustment isn’t necessary , but ….

I do not have the interest to read all of the back and forth in this thread but you guys seem getting grumpy with each other. If it continues I'll just put a couple of you on time out for a week. Please please please don't make me be an real administrator....

I’d say it’s all on you and Performance. Hopefully you won’t award one of the bickerers with the $50 gift card. Arguing back and forth should be doubled then deducted from their Baller of the month reward points or whatever it is that you have going on. And no , please don’t apply this to my monthly total 🤣

  15. There’s a Radar Vapor somewhere between Washington and California with my name on it. How can you not buy from the folks who bring us Spray Makers. Would almost feel like I was cheating on them if I even test rode another brand 🤣 Radar does so much for the skiing community. I haven’t been this excited about a new ski in a long while.
