  1. Such sad news. I knew of Marc , but never had the opportunity to meet him. Sounds like I missed out. He and all of his family and friends are in my thoughts. Makes you think about life and how quickly tragedy can change everything. Knowing that his organs are saving other lives must make his soul feel good. He has given the gift of life to people that desperately needed it. There is something very special about that little red dot on your drivers license. Rest In peace my friend.
  2. @skialex thank you for that video. Those dudes are nuts. The skier that pulled the hole shot runs it in on the bike next to him. Skier vs bike , that is priceless right there. Hope the riders and skiers get to switch places , because the skier is always at the wrong end of the rope in this sport.
  3. Zakdogs 190 is a beautiful boat. It is in very good condition and skis well. The boat is definitely one that could be purchased sight unseen as there are many ballers here at Ski West. And for a bottle of scotch you could probably get Horton to ride his bike over and check it out for you. ?
  4. They are all flat mirrors. Convex does not work with the multiple panels. I did experiment with that. As stated above , you do not see the skier in the turns at shoreline. The original version was made for me by the Wink company up in Washington. It was just the car mirror with a stainless screw built into it. That 2” tall version was much too small , so the final product morphed into a 5” tall mirror. If anyone out there has one of these and needs parts for it , hit me up. As far as selling the whole unit , I am currently retired and out of stock. I actually bought this mirror from Steve for a friend of mine. If you ever do see advertising on BOS for Rawly Vision , that means the full time retirement gig didn’t pan out. Which I think will be highly doubtful ?
  5. All of those years of waiting for the ice to melt have prepared you for this moment. The good news is that when your lake is ready for you , you won’t need a dry suit ? Good to see that you survived ok and are just being inconvenienced for a while.
  6. Hugedaddy asking if size matters ?? Must be a joke eh ? ? If not , the early 90’s ski brendallas are one of the narrowest older boats with killer slalom and trick ( wakeboard ) wakes. As a matter of fact , I may have one for sale for cheap in So Cal soon ?
  7. Arkansas .....will you then become skihawg ? ? Good luck with the sale and the new pad. Thanks for all of ski knowledge you have passed on to us on this sight. ( can’t get myself to say “ thanks for all that you have passed on to us ballers “ ?. Hopefully it’s a short retirement and you get back to skiing.
  8. Like all of the other pro and expert skiers out there , Coles elbows are tucked to his vest all the way through his edge change. This is probably the most important move that separates them from us. Rope tension into the turn = rope tension out of the turn. It is easy to see in the first set of his video. Most intermediate skiers have an edge change / reach combination going on. Short line skiers have an edge change with both hands , then a reach when the rope gets taken by the boat. You will notice that all of the top skiers have their inside elbow still stuck to the vest and their arm coming off of the vest at 90* going into the turn. I am at your level as well , if I do a correct edge change , I run an easy 35 , if not it’s 2 or 3 buoys.
  9. Might want to consider a Goode Power vest for your return to skiing ?? They take the load off of your hands , arms , shoulders and back. I always wanted one for my bad back but kept putting it off until I wanted to ski after my shoulder surgery. I have saved well over the $600 price tag on the epidurals that I no longer get from the pain management doc. There is actually one for sale in another thread. Guys with arm injuries will sell them. Back injury people tend to hold on to them. Good luck with your recovery.
  10. Had to pull out of the Georgia opening day challenge ☹️ Wife and I self administered the Clorox / Lysol I.V. drips yesterday and we aren’t feeling up to continuing further than the Walmart parking lot that we pulled into. Not to mention the blotches on our skin from that damn UV light that we rigged up. Guess those Covid tattoos will have to wait. On the bright side , seams as if the fish tank cleaner that we drank a few weeks back appears to have had no side affects ??
