  1. Officer thanks for the note. We will definitely ski more AWSA events next year. I am not intimidated by them I had my best result at the only AWSA event I skied this year. We just got a late start skiing tournaments and had a lot of other stuff going on. My daughter isn't running full passes yet so she needs the INT to have some fun in the novice division.  On the people front I met a lot of great people at the AWSA events including Nationals and everybody was super friendly. We did see some of the same people at INT slalom events as we did at AWSA events. My son who was a Boys 1 skier last year slalomed and tricked and is looking forward to jumping. I just need to find him a set of jumpers. Used ones are hard to come by and are still expensive and new ones run $1400.  We are fired up about next year and are looking forward to more tournaments. I only missed my opener once but I keep crapping out on my second set. My goal for next year is to qualify for regionals. I don't ski well enough yet to qualify for Nationals in Mens 3.
  2. We are probably 2-3 weeks away from shutting it down. Unfortunately I missed a good week last week because I was travelling on business. Tomorrow looks good so we will probably ski at lunch time and we will have to see what the rest of the week looks like. I should probably take my boat out next weekend because I know I have Sunday free which is rare. I doubt I will though.
  3. I have right hip pain but mine is arthritis related. When I am tired from overworking it there is definitely more pain in the area. Generally the more I exersize and strengthen it the less pain I have every day though.
  4. I skied 4, 3 INT and the MA State Championships (AWSA) and skied like crap in all of them. I can't ski tournaments yet. I average 4@28 off at home with a best of 4@32 and probably 2@22 in a tournament with a best of 4@28 and I have only run 22 that once.  We will definitely do some more next year as my son is loving it probably still a mix of INT and AWSA.
  5. Anybody run a Strada or RS1 with a RTP? How does that combo work out? I don't know that I want one of the slippers you see on the Radar website.
  6. I am on the road so I can't measure my A1. In order to get any kind of separation at all I have to run my HO RTP all the way back. If it was all the way forward I would need to have the Wiley binding well forward of 30". I am running my Wiley in the middle hole. Originally I was one hole back and moved it forward to get some separtion in my feet.
  7. I didn't have that problem with my A1. My feet were right on top of each other. I moved my binding forward a hole to get some space between my feet because my RTP was all the way back. I think I am at 30 1/4" on a 68.5" ski. I find it does ski a little bit better for me. I am on a Wiley front with an HO RTP.
  8. Is there a consistent way that manufacturers measure skis. In the snow ski industry there used to be some manufacturers that measured running length which was along the bottom of the ski and some measured what they called cord length which was straight line from the tip to tail. You could have two skis stamped 200cm that would be different in length. I have been out of the snow ski industry for a while so I don't know if that is still true.
  9. That isn't cold at all. We are down to low 60s for water and if we are lucky 70-75 for air. Yesterday was beautiful it was right on 70* and we skied in heater tops. Today looks the same.
  10. Joe that is very cool congratulations.
  11. I think Ed summarized pretty well. We ski the course a lot but probably only 50% of my hours are in the course the rest are pulling my kids tricking, wakeboarding and even tubing then the extra space in the boat is key. If both boats had ZO I would go with the LXI.ÂÂ
  12. I am concerned about a similar issue when the water cools down on my A1. I was skiing well on it with the water in the low 80s. I have been gone for over a week and we had 3 days of cold rain. We will see how tomorrow goes I expect water will be 10* colder. I may try my slot fin in it.
  13. We have a weed problem at my lake and when my impeller just went we dug a lot of weeds out of the strainer above the alternator. One of my neighbors just had his impeller pump go bad which I had never heard of before. Unfortunately it was the third thing in his replacement list after the impeller and the water pump.
  14. So if I ski 3-6 sets a week from June 15-Sept 15 how many seasons does that equate to. Say I get a 100 sets on the ski. I am a big guy at 6' 230 poiunds and ski into 32 off so not super short line. I have never broken a ski but I have to imagine I am not the most gentle guy on a ski.  I have to tell you my wife is going to be pissed if I need another $1K ski next year.
  15. Boody, Is skiing on the Goode going to affect your livelihood? Probably not. Based on that I would say try the Goode particularly if you can get another set or two on it before the tournament. There is no real downside other than a poor result at the tournament which isn't going to kill you.
  16. I think 6 sets or so should give you an idea if the ski has potential for you. If you aren't skiing close to your regular set in 6 sets maybe it isn't the right ski for you.ÂÂ
  17. A friend of mine just broke his ankle in the Enzos. He didn't come out when he should have. The draft type of bindings make me very nervous.
  18. Shark,  I have been playing with your spreadsheet and when I punch in my particulars I get some very funky numbers. How many changes should I make at once? I have started to ski better now that our water is 80 degrees but I know it isn't going to last long. Should I try move the bindings ahead and change the wing angle first then start things from there?
  19. I talked to one of the Big Dawg skiers at nationals who had a practice set behind it and he said at 38 off there was nothing there. It was wider and so flat it alomost didn't exist. He was thinking about getting one for next year but was concerned about the trick wake being non-existant as his kids trick.  I wonder how it would impact your pull? While I don't ski at 38 off or deeper I am tuned to pull through the second wake. If that isn't there I wonder how it would be to switch between boats.
  20. 70" 2005 Monza for sale in Classifieds. Bottom in excellent condition. A couple of marks on the top from the handle but nothing that needed repairing. http://ballofspray.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_adsmanager&page=show_category&catid=7&order=0&expand=0&Itemid=77
  21. They had a ski with a brushed aluminum top at Nationals. I didn't talk with anyone about it though. There were new bindings also.
  22. Brent, the DFT is .770. So should I try .780 or .760?
  23. Corey,  Does the biggest S1 provide the same support for a big guy (235lbs) as the biggest A1?
  24. The comment on the Jagersport fin setup spreadsheet is about the System 8 and Monza.  The ski was working well in water that was in the low to mid 90s in NC. Back home the water was 70* when I first got back and I was skiing like crap. Now it has warmed up to the upper 70s and I am skiing better but I feel like I am just skiing better also (if that makes sense).
