  1. I've built up 2 so far, to rave reviews. Comfort is so very important in a binding.
  2. TW - Does the Arm-Guard need to have the small support to the handle center ? I use a bent handle, and sometimes end up with one hand on the end, but the other in the center. And if a skier uses a bent handle, then does the opening change shape to match the bend ?
  3. www.skiertoskier.com for all the course supplies
  4. no, just standard RS boots, but they're not made of carbon fiber, so no long term damage from heat exposure
  5. Any Black ski will get considerably hotter when left in the sun, which can be bad for it's longetivity. My white RS-1 can be left in the sun without any problems - a benefit to having a ski that doesn't absorb heat.
  6. the inserts will come out counterclockwise with an ez-out. then just add a little epoxy for glue as you spin in a new one. Wiley's can send you repair parts. www.wileyski.com or 206 762 1300
  7. The only reason (imo) to not ski at your max speed before shortening is for something like the INT Wide Ride. Colin - you just need to get more course time. Free skiing is for people who can't get to a slalom course !
  8. I think our raking, and physical removal may have exasperated the weed problem. If the little pieces that get cut loose and float away, how quickly do they regrow ? Doesn't the plant have to be rooted to the bottom to live ? We need some waterskiers with "green thumbs", but appreciate all the advice.
  9. Even though the SkiPark has a 6 hole course surrounding it, I refuse to take up golf because it seriously lacks acceleration. Someday when I'm old and crippled from shortline slalom and hitting the jump, my tune may change. Thanks for the "weed info", I'll pass it along. It's the BroHo site that's getting a little "weedy", but it still skiing good.
  10. Has anyone out there come up with a chemical kill for these problem weeds ? The grass eating carp are doing their best, and the aquashade dye makes the lake look pretty, but the darned weeds are getting worse. Any suggestions ?
  11. "there is no try, either do or do not" - Yoda
  12. Sanctioning a class "F" tournament is cheap ($25.), so why not put a "Wooden Ski NSL Event" on the 2009 Calendar ? I know Wiley's has a ton of wood skis on their walls and ceiling, all with period bindings. It would be alot of fun as an optional 3rd round at a slalom event next year. As for the expense of the INT US Champs, the entry fee is ridiculously high, and isn't justified in my opinion.
  13. It was nice to be less than an hour from home. Laku next year for sure then. I met a great group from Colorado, and their 2 lake site will keep the event from dragging out a whole week.
  14. John - you missed a great Regionals ! The only thing that could've been better was the weather.
  15. We ski all year, as long as it's above 45' F and the weather in Seattle is at least decent. You get used to a drysuit between October and May.ÂÂÂ
  16. Jack Honberger, Men 10 Champion at the 2008 Western Regionals
  17. I've been skiing on mine since Feb. and have had no problems.
  18. "Start Narrow - Stay Narrow" is one of the coaching cliches that is true. There's no substitute for a good pull out, well timed gate & 1 ball to start your pass.
  19. I've been pulled out the front by ZO, something that very rarely happens with SG. At least it was a "crash test" for my RS-1 boots !
  20. Hi Jim - I'm not coming over for Mega Slalom, the motorhome will already be at the Ski Park - Free Beer for BOS people ! It'll be nice to match faces to names. See you at the Ski Park !
  21. Chris Sullivan described it to me once as taking the handle with your core out to the bouy line.
