Nerves play a huge part in big International events, add in the fact that out of 40+ skiers only 12 go thru to the final round, it is not any thing like your normal back yard RC event.

I used to work an compete in the Fl State Championships for many years when I had a green card, which meant I met all of the criteria for qualifying to ski, all of a sudden they moved the goal posts a few years ago saying that if you skied for your country out side of the US then FL would not let you place in the State Championships and you ski it only as a record tournament, I am now a dual citizen and lived here 18 yrs and still cannot place, I understand it for Regionals and Nationals but States?? some regions run it as a class C so the whole thing is BS, to cap it all then they took us off the USA Ranking List several years ago!!

Very disappointed that having had the web cast on all Friday and most of Saturday it comes down to the Womens Final we lose the web cast, then get it back for a few, then lose it again after Nate beat Aaron and went on to 41, did he try 43?? we dont know, then we did not have any idea what Rossi did!! Nate and Will go for the title and we still do not get to see it!! even the tweets were as slow as molasses in January, so frustrating, the whole web cast thing sucks, it would be better not knowing till tomorrow, than being held in the suspense of no mans land, i really feel for the parents and relatives that are thousands of miles away trying to watch their sons and daughters compete in this prestigious event,only to be let down at the most important moment. I will most likely drawa lot of flack for airing my views on this but i am actually very angry about the whole situation!!

Dave , my advice to you is , send Andy another video and tell him what you are feeling and he will fix it, he won't bite you!!

You are correct John, Will got a 4 and a 5 @ 41 off at our tournament on Saturday, he then skied Sunday at Swiss and got 4.5 and 5 @41.

Friend of mine here at this lake, took his golf cart down through the fenced yard to get his ski from his boat, ready to ski in the tournament that we had going on that day, put it on the backof the cart, as he was heading out the fenced yard thru the gate, unknown to him the ski had fallen over, so as he went thru the gate the ski caught on both gate posts and snapped it in two, needless to say he did not get to ski in the event, but we did give him his entry fee back!!

Go see a chiro, sounds like you have popped a rib off, happens a lot in this sport.

I have used a rtp all my life,and have used many over the years, the best so far is the HO, it has a really good foot bed so that your heel does not slip off, which can be very painful.

I was shown, and now have an even easier way to get water into bouys, you buy a small air/blow gun from Home Depot, get a female/ male adaptor to fit on where the air hose would connect, the male end will take the normal hose pipe fitting, take out the blow nozzle and your needle inflator screws straight in, connect to the hose and squirt the water in, we also made up a homemade scale to weigh the same amount of water being put in to each bouy, if someone explains to me how to get pictures from my I phone on to the page i will post pictures.

Many years ago in England random drug testing was done at some of the major tournaments, this then seemed to disappear for whatever reason. I saw this reappear at the Senior World Trophy in 2010 in Italy when most of the winners from each disicpline, of each age catagory, were required to take a test, to my knowledge there were no positives, i personally do not think it is a bad thing to do random testing in our sport, but it probabaly comes down to the cost of doing it

I have been a state safety official for quite a number of years, we have to take and renew CPR and First Aid Courses every two years and do a USA safety clinic every four years to maintain our rating, in my opinion other than the practical water rescue technigues taught at the clinics which i think is highly important the rest is a very boring 4 hrs because it is already covered in your mandatory CPR and First Aid Classes, thats how it is in Fl, not sure about the rest of the US.

The best score ever achieved in practice or tournament at this lake happened Saturday when regular visitor Nate Smith and the lovely Krista called by to ski a set before heading off to the AWSA awards ceremony in Haines City, he bested the tournament score he got here in our spring record tournament 2011 of 5 1/2 @ 41 (10.25) to 1/2 @ 43 (9.75) it may be only practice but on the 28th January !! I'd say pretty impressive, well done Nate!!
