@Mose probably 2 reasons. 

a. By reducing layers they got more benefit than what they'd gotten with having speedskin
b. I can surmise from  my own experience that a coating such as the speedskin was complicated to apply in a consistent nature

She does so many interesting and at the same time, odd, things.  Love watching her ski, but man oh man, I can see people getting lost trying to emulate her.

Nope.  Getting to 3 once or twice doesn't tell me it can be run.  Getting to 4 would start to lead me to believe it could.  But we've not seen anyone doing it.  

Truth be told, with few exceptions,  competitive skiing is no longer about competition.  It's about seeing if you can better your own performance.  

As the elite skiers advance on the boat the handle has to start moving to the inside in relation to the ski path, otherwise the ski gets blocked from its swing.  The only way you can do that while staying connected ends up with the inside elbow bent. It's a byproduct, not an action. In those pictures of Nate, that outside arm(which is straight, or as straight as you can really expect) is the connection to the boat. Once you're at that level you can use that handle as your means of varying the tension in the line.  Mere mortals should not be even thinking of those types of things because it's the tail wagging the dog.  A guy like Nate, CAN do that because he's done so many things right up to that point.  

My perception of Asher is that he is really driving the ski through centerline and he becomes really flowy soft with his knees from there, outwards to the ball line.  

This topic on soft knees is a lot like the one on bent knees from years ago.  It can go so wrong in so many ways due to the perception of the person being told this and where they are in the learning curve.  

I don't disagree with you one bit on any of those points.  

FWIW our creative team where I work just bought a Red vRaptor.  Which was $28k for the body, no lenses.  Just so happens I was in a production meeting for a big event where they were detailing their investments and I thought "F me, that's no polaroid!"

At the end of the day, everyone here is just speculating.  Because no one knows(or is willing to say) what exactly Freddy said.  I know that had it been me, there would have been some discussions of them being bovine fornicators with their brain case inside their rectums.  But that's just me.  Is a ban justified? Horton should probably ban me, yes.  But Freddy? None of us can tell because we don't have any real data one way or the other.

Horton, I don't know if I ever told you I went on vacation with her, her boyfriend after me, and her best friend just before I met Sallee.  I had no idea that she'd never told her boyfriend that she and I had dated before him.  Imagine the uncomfortable turn of events when I said "It's cool that you don't care that Nadine and I went out before you met her." And his reply was "What the f$ck?!?!?! She never told me THAT!!!" hahahaha Ooopsie!

Funny thing is I ran into Nadine not all that long ago. 🙂

Krista's video is one of the top 5 greatest ski videos of all time.  I've been laughing my ass at her over that for well over a decade now.  

I just like to hear when someone says I'm right.  It happens so infrequently these days.  

The gold standard as far as I'm concerned is Ski Ranch in Covington, La.  Big offset islands with enough space between them and the shore to drive a tugboat through.  With the offset, the course is dead straight down the lake. The boat comes around the island and is lined up immediately.  Duplicate Ski Ranch's layout and depth profile and it will be pretty awesome.

I made huge jumps on both of those. I should have never gotten rid of that A2.  I ran more 35s on that than all the other skis I was on after combined.  

PrePreg parts can be pretty. It depends on whether a 1 piece uniform presentation layer is added or not. We see this in bike frames. Some manufacturers choose to have a UD or 3k weave layer at the face of the mold, then build their structural layers inside it. Other mfrs choose to just show through the layers of structural prepreg and let it's somewhat blotchy, layered look show through. Obviously this is lighter. When most people think of carbon fiber, it's the nice even 3k look. You can tell bikes and skis which have that as their top layer. UD would be this kind of a matte look, even if it was a glossy finish.

@dbutcher It's nothing the worry about. The 6.2 has proven itself with millions of miles of service. The block was designed for both applications from the onset.
