  1. Many years ago he called me in response to a set-up question on one of his skis. He took his time listening to me and offering his advice. Topping it off he then gave me his cell and invited me to call anytime if I needed additional help. I was touched by his genuine concern. May God bless his soul and comfort his family.
  2. I’ve been on the Senate Pro since August 4. I’m still luvin it. Best thing is it gets better and better with every set. Thanks again Radar!
  3. Thoughts and prayers to the entire family
  4. I hear you @ktm300 Have to find a guy that will do it. Met another doc this morning and got same answer. That makes 4 unwilling orthos.
  5. @Moskier Distal is a different animal. As said mine was repaired 6 years ago. All the guys I'm talking to are sports/ortho's so therin lies my frustration. They all say I'll get back to where I was without the repair. I'd like to believe them, but my way of thinking is to fix things that are broke, so it's hard to trust what they are saying. @Horton They also say the window of opportunity to fix is longer than with distal. The window with distal before atrophy sets in was approx 2 weeks. Because the small head is keeping the muscle stretched I'n told the window is longer, 10-12 weeks. But I'd like to just fix it now and rehab over the winter, Have to find a doc that thinks the way I do.
  6. @davemac 65, my opinion is calander age should have nothing to do with it, but I agree with you in that they probably have a bias in that regard.
  7. @TravisNW I agree with all you're saying. I’m aware of the PT involved having blown out my distal tendon 6 years ago. After listening to these guys explain it, I asked them if they would repair it for me anyways and the answer was no. It’s frustrating. My ortho friend who fixed the distal is retired and moved to the other side of the country. He would do it but he’s not around. I’ve got a couple more appointments set up, I’ll see what they say.
  8. I’ve talked to three orthos who all say this tendon is not necessary, and available fix is mainly cosmetic. Very little benefit to the surgery. They say the small head tendon can take up the load.
  9. Anybody skiing with a completely torn long head bicep tendon. How’s it working out?
  10. @UWSkier 2019 lithium Vapor
  11. Second ride was last night. This ski is the real deal, the magic is still there. Right out of box just awesome.
  12. Ski was delivered this afternoon and I road it this evening. It is freaking awesome!! Thanks to Radar and Preformance Ski. Special thanks to @brooks for the hypotheticals. I am stoked!!!
  13. @horton thanks for posting the stack video. I injured my front knee pre season in bike accident. Been struggling all season, even on my opening pass. Your video woke me up and made me realize I was "protecting" my knee by throwing my weight on rear leg. My set last night I focused on keeping back leg straight and it made all the difference. Thanks
  14. Make sure you are not wearing a baggy swim suit that will “parachute” and fill with water.
  15. If I understand your question it’s what can you do in the weeks while you heal. With that understanding it seems like strengthening your core would be most beneficial. Planks, etc. will help condition your body to be able to do what you ask of it when you do get back on the water.
  16. Serious and Fun need not be mutually exclusive.
  17. It’s a very nice lake and a very nice community. If someone is looking for a great ski lake it is the best in the area.
  18. My thinking is there is very little risk in using cells harvested from your own bone marrow and fat. I personally would not have had the procedure with cells harvested from umbilical or any other foreign source, and as previously stated I would not have gone to a “sales” oriented clinic, especially one that advocated using umbilical sources, which by the way was not offered by the group I went to. I was lucky to have found the guy I did, and was able to have further comfort in that he is part of the same hospital orthopedic group that I have used for over 25 years, which includes a very close friend who has surgically put me back together many times. It may not be for everybody, but it also is a legitimate procedure. You just have to find the right people. I paid 3,500, and compared to a shoulder replacement it was a bargain.
  19. @Rednucleus for what it is worth, personally I would never have had it done at one of the sales seminar places. They may be great, don’t know, but not for me. I was lucky to find the guy I did. Don’t know where you are located but if you pm me I’ll share the info.
