  1. I am asking myself the same thing all the time, especially since I am single(never married). Water ski ladies are very rare especially up north.
  2. I had not thought of it... Even if you live in the south, you are probably limited to skiing on weekends, since it is dark by the time most people get home from work. The last time I was in Florida was in November 2000. I was at Bill Peterson's and Jack Travers' ski schools. I remember sitting on the dock between sets, and it felt like a July day at home, but then the sun goes down at 5:00pm. If I could afford it I would fly down to Florida for a weekend of water skiing once a month in the winter.
  3. If I lived closer I would be stopping by to take a look, and do a trick skiing demo behind it. I would bring the gas..
  4. She is a beauty!! I have a 94' with a similar color scheme with 1750 hours..
  5. 34 is easier hands down. I can get into 32 off in rough water that would be suicide at 36MPH. It also depends on the ski you are on too, and how it is set up.
  6. @behindpropellers, Looks like we will both be hanging on to our boats for a while. Thanks again for the pull this summer!!!
  7. 1 old Straightline TLS radius handle attached to a Performance Pure rope from Performance Ski and Surf of Orlando. 3 Masterline 1.0'' x 13'' monsterbraid tournament handles each attached to their own Performance Pure slalom lines..
  8. End of October. The course will be sunk on the 19th or 24th. Boat gets pulled on the 24th..
  9. I had a trakker mount. Piece of junk. Don't waste your money..
  10. I just got an Eagle Sports drysuit, the baggy type this past spring. I did not think I would like it, but it has worked very well. I wear a thin sweatshirt and sweatpants underneath. Once you get all the air out you are vacuum, sealed inside it. It is surprisingly comfortable and easy to move in. The only downside is it acts like a parachute when slalom skiing on a windy day which can make it a little harder to ski. I will be switching to a full length wetsuit until the water temp drops below 60 then I will switch back to the drysuit..
  11. One that will stall before you get yanked over the front..

    Sweet MC

    Beautiful boat!
  13. @Horton, I know the Meloon family sold the company. I just don't remember when.. I have had more chances to ski behind a 200 and get some time in the boat. I like it the best of the four tournament boats that are out there. The Carbon Pro is more in line with my budget though..
  14. Correct craft is usually the slowest in coming out with new hull designs. The first Ski Nautique hull was used from 1961-1981, the second(the 2001 hull as it was called) 1982-1989, then the No Wake Zone hull 1990-1996, The TSC1 hull 1997-2001,TSC2 hull?(I think I have the name correct)2002-2009, and then the 200 Optimal Surface Control Hull 2010 to present. I got to meet Ralph Meloon on many occasions. He always stressed they never released anything to the marketplace until they were sure it was going to work properly. They did not want their customers to be guinea pigs on a product that may or may not work. It is under new ownership now. I just hope in the future they don't keep making them bigger. I would prefer 20 foot or less.. For those of us in the north that can cause storage issues.
  15. @skibumsam, with all the lakes in MN it may be cheaper to get a portable course than to join a ski club..
  16. If you can't find a course nearby, you could always get a portable course. There are plenty of lakes in MN where you could drop one in for a few hours..
  17. 409 HP in a 99 Nautique... That would be fun!! The GT-40 is like a rocket as it is..
  18. Andy's ski designs always worked well for me. I have been on a D3 for the last 6 years, but before that I had a 2000 O'Brien Mapple Signature Model slalom which was still my favorite ski. I was going to try the O'Brien Elite at the time, but it was not ready, and my ski was falling apart after 8 seasons. The D3 Nomad RCX was the best fit for me at the time. When I am in the market for a new ski I will be trying out the Mapple brand..
  19. Are you talking about the ski stalling on you at the finish of the turn just before you load up on the rope to pull across the wakes? If so I am running into the same thing..
  20. If you have Stargazer with the magnets and paddlewheel I set the baselines in multi-magnet mode, but run it in the single magnet mode when skiing. It works perfect on my boat. I only had it surge from ball 3 to the exit gate at 30-32 MPH while pulling a heavier skier. I was able to correct the problem by adding an extra 50-100lbs to the crew weight setting, and set the Kx to + or ++. My brother has the version that runs purely off GPS. I think he used the open water capture mode to set the baselines. His works perfect too.
  21. I always start at 15 and 22. It helps me warm up..
  22. I was thinking if you ski in the regionals, or nationals it should give you some boost in your ranking score.. Random thought of the day..
