  1. I made the switch from the Reflex, and the transition was seamless.
  2. I went with the size 12's, and they work great.

I still do the same P90X ab ripper exercises after my regular strength training workouts in the off season. It's 15 minutes every other day. So, really it's three days a week, and it keeps my core strong.

My situation is different but, the time factor might be similar. I blew a disc in my back two years ago. The fluid from the disc impinged on my sciatic nerve causing intense pain and numbness in my leg and foot. I understand when you say "someone shoot me". It was that bad. When the fluid retreated, the pain went away. That took a week to happen. The numbness in the leg caused me to lose some strength and control of my calf muscle. That caused a condition called "foot drop". I sounded like a horse when I walked. I did have an MRI, and there was very little bulging. The doc said I was not a candidate for surgery and that I would be back to 90% if not 100% within six months, and that's almost exactly how long it took. It takes time for the nerve to recover. There are times when I wish I was a candidate for surgery and someday, I might be. The reality is, when I keep my core strength up, I have have zero back problems. When, my core gets weak, the back pain returns.
  5. I've been wanting to try a Vapor/Strada binding for a while. I had the chance to borrow an RS1 and skied it today. I really liked the binding but it felt too small and made my food cramp. It's a size 11 which is what I would have thought I needed. My dress shoe size is 10 1/2 and running shoe size is 11. It's odd to think I would need a size 12 Vapor, but that seems to be the case. Do they tend to run small? It did have a super feet insole, but it was still too small when I took it out.
  6. Great news @LZywicki1 . Thanks for personally delivering my handle after my rookie tournament mistake leaving it behind last week.
  7. My 67" is for sale. It has 7 sets on it. Two were a total of 7 passes in a tournament. Asking $1000.
  8. @MISkier I thought it might be something odd like that.
  9. @LZywicki1 I enjoyed hanging out with you and your wife. Having a conversation with her is very easy. She fits right in. Can anyone out there tell me if I was incorrectly placed in Mens 3. I turned 45 on April 10. I thought I would be M4 and that's what I signed up as, but AWSA has me as M3 and so do the tournament results. Not that it really matters. I actually did better in the M3 category anyways. There were only two of us. The M4 or M5 categories were loaded with great skiers.
  10. My first tournament in 29 years will be on a V-Type. I have 3 sets on it. Probably shouldn't have done that. I can't say that I'm as comfortable on it as my previous ski, but I'm skiing just as well.
  11. @ToddL Yep. That's the guy right there.
  12. Thanks for the advice. No soap required. I use a Reflex, RTP, and a Mapple 6.0 signed by someone you may know.
  13. We call it carpet moss at our site. It makes nice green spray.
  14. @LZywicki1 Has inspired me to enter my first tournament in 29 years. That makes me sound really old. It also allows me to ski as a novice, which will take some pressure off. See ya there.
  15. @aupatking I understand why you feel that way but that's probably a more appropriate use for a Monza than skiing on it. I have a black top Monza btw if anyone wants it.
  16. I have a 67" V-Type in my possession. Now I need a driver. I should get a chance to ride it tomorrow. I was on a 66" A3 and it never felt small even when the sizing chart said at 175 lbs. I should be on a 67".
  17. I always thought it would be better if the bottom of the toe box wasn't curved so much. I have the same question as @Chef23. The toe bar usually has a spacer in it. Maybe you could just take it out.
  18. I reread the Prophecy review after I had been skiing on mine for a while and became frustrated with it. I found that I had to ski technically correct on that ski otherwise it would punish me. That's basically what the review said, but I had to read the review again to fully grasp the content. My technique is not as correct as Horton's, and I have to take that into consideration when reading the reviews.
  19. I had this a few years ago when I switched to a Reflex. When my back was feeling better I would ski again and aggravate my back. After a few weeks of skiing once and taking a week off to let my back recover, my disc finally blew. Listen to your back. Having said that, I still ski with some back pain, but I start the season with a strong core, I use an inversion table regularly, and I drag a foot now on my deep water starts. That makes a big difference, but requires using a RTP.
  20. I went from an A2 to an S2 to an A3. I thought each one was an improvement over the last. Plus, they were all skis I felt immediately comfortable on. I expect the V type will be even more refined. I'm not on an HO right now, but I'd like to get my hands on a V type.
  21. The article said the ski will produce less spray, so, I'm out.
  22. @LZwicki1 I'm in S.E. Michigan. You can come ski with me any time (and many times) before the tournament if you want to get some sets behind a Z.O. boat.
  23. I skied two different A3's two years ago. Loved one, hated the other.
  24. Saying goodbye to the passengers this morning after flying from Phoenix to Atlanta, I saw a man and woman wearing waterski shirts. They were on there way to the masters. I think I saw him in a recent waterski magazine.
