  1. Yes, front leg is straight with the ski out in front. This has been my nemesis for ever.
  2. In another thread, I mentioned not checking the fin settings on my Prophecy. I don't think there's a fin change that could help me. Maybe some ballers can. I'm a tail rider and need to get up on the front of the ski. It's my first attempt at posting a video. Hope it works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5itFx7Vn6E
  3. @B_S I'm laughing with you. That was a great pic.
  4. @skoot1123 *face palms* help, *face slaps* hurt
  5. @MattP The person I bought the ski from told me it had Horton's numbers. I did eyeball it, and it was within 1/1000 or two. So, I put my bindings on it and skied. *face palm*. @ShaneH I'll try your numbers. Thank you.
  6. I skied the A3 for about 12 sets and the 2013 prophecy 3 sets. If you made me pick right now, I'd take the A3. I need to give the Prophecy more time. I'm 5'11" and 175-180lbs. I rode a 66" A3 and now have a 67" Prophecy. I think those are the right sizes for you. I've skied on two different A3's. I really liked the first one, and really disliked the second one. It made me want my S2 back. Because already sold it, I decided to give the Prophecy a try. I only have 3 sets on the Prophecy, and the first didn't really count because of a binding problem, so its way to soon to make a judgement. What I can say, is that I was more comfortable on the A3 in the first 3 sets than I was on the Prophecy. I was running better than my average buoy count on the A3 after 3 sets. I was running about 30% of my 32 off passes (34mph) on my S2, about 70% on the A3. I know I like the Prophecy more than the S2, but it's too soon to tell if I'm going to like it more than the A3. The Prophecy does get me as wide and early as the A3 but I'm not as comfortable in the turns yet. For what it's worth, I haven't even checked the fin settings on it yet. I should be able to get a few more rides on the Prophecy over the next 4 days.
  7. Thanks @Dirt. 67 inch is on the way. The first ski I ever bought was a Connelly 26 years ago. I still have it. It's the only Connelly I've ever had until this one, and I'm really looking forward to it.
  8. @ShaneH They are factory recommended 29.25 on both skis.
  9. 5' 11" , 175lbs. I only have the numbers for the stiffer ski 107,132,144. I assume they are the flex numbers (it actually says Route 107, Slot 132, File 144 on the bottom of the ski). When I compared them to the other ski, they were 3 to 4 numbers higher for each one. I've never payed much attention to them before, and I've never skied two of the same skis back-to-back like that, but I could tell the difference right away. I didn't even look at them until after I skied it because I noticed something was different. My ski (the stiffer one) was made in Nov. 2012 which was about 3 months before the other one.
  10. I jumped on a buddy's new 66" lime A3. I've never had a ski get as much angle as this one. Even after the angle is set, it's the only ski I've ever had that will allow me to get more angle if I ask for it. I have been running 32 off about 30% of the time this year on my S2. On the lime A3 I've run 4 out of 6 32's and the two I didn't run, I made it around 5 ball. So, I sold my S2 and got an A3. It feels stiffer than my buddy's, and I haven't run a 32 on it yet. I skied them back-to-back yesterday. I ran 2-28's on mine, switched the bindings and ran 2-28's and 2-32's on his. Switched the bindings back to mine, ran 2-28's and couldn't run a 32. I should have tried 32 off on mine during the first set, but I wanted to try the other one while I was still fresh. It's the same size ski, but has slightly stiffer flex numbers. I just can't get the angle on mine that I can on his.
  11. What size Prophecy would be best for 175lbs., 34mph skier? I'm on a 66" A3 right now.
  12. Be careful. I continued to ski last year and aggravated a bulging disk. It finally ruptured. The fluid impinged on my sciatic nerve causing partial loss of calf muscle control (foot drop) and some foot numbness. It took three to four months to regain full control of my calf muscle, not to mention the week of intense pain until the fluid retreated from the nerve. I'm back skiing now, but not as much as last year, and I'm being very cautious.
  13. I've been using mine from last year, and have at least one more pair. Haven't used this years. These things really save my hands. Thanks for the warning. I hope I have enough to get me through the year because I haven't found anything else that work as well.
  14. @Ed_Johnson Great. I Had an A2 two years ago. Was on the S2 last summer. I found it to be more consistent (and more predictable on my offside) than the A2. Now I have to get an A3.
  15. I haven't skied on the A3, but the A2 & S2 are very user friendly. My guess is the A3 is also. Like the posts above said, if you get a good price, you will be able to sell it for what you paid or close to it. I've bought in sold several skis on SIA. I usually sell them for a little less than I paid just to move them quickly. It's been a good way to demo skis.
  16. TWB

    nano one

I had the same problem when going from Animals to hard shells.
  17. Who cares about the flight crew? @OB I can relate to your rant, but we know the general public doesn't. The hat makes us look professional though :) *DPA*
  18. I have a 97 SN with the TBI engine. It's a great engine and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between it and the 343 excalibur in my 2008 SN club boat unless I opened the motor box. I also think the wake behind the 97 is better.
  19. Not sure the Attack is the answer either. I was demoing the S2 when my Vector was giving me problems and the only thing I had in the boat was the Attack that came on the S2. It was a big improvement over my Vector that had one of the front bolts that attached it to the plate pulled out. Eventually, I'd like to transition to hard shells, but I haven't been able to ski them well. I really liked how the T-Factor skied, but they cramped my foot and calf after about 4 passes. That was cold water too.
  20. @Chef23 If they are over tightened, you will not come out. That's true on the Attack as well and probably any bungee type binding. There's a warning on them from the manufacturer not to over tighten. @MS If you like the Approaches, I don't think the Vector will be stiff enough for you. It was the most comfortable binding I've ever had though and might be an option for the rear foot. It took me a full set to get used to them again after trying the T-factor. I just didn't feel connected to the ski. The Attack binding made a big difference in performance on the very first set. I haven't tried the Strada's and wonder if they would be more like the Attack in stiffness.
  21. What are you using right now? I used a front Vector for less than a year before one of the screws that attaches the binding to the plate pulled out of the binding. I tried to epoxy it, but it didn't work. I'm using an HO Attack front and RTP on my S2. They are stiffer than the Vector, and I feel more connected to the ski with them.
  22. @thager Parashorts. That's why he doesn't need a wing.
  23. Wing? What's that? I have no idea. Actually, it's my buddy's ski, so I haven't touched the fin setting, but I've been skiing on it for a month. Just sold my other ski, so my new S2 will be here any day.
  24. @MS. 3 sets already. Your wife told me yesterday you haven't even skied on it yet. When I walked on the plane yesterday I said, "been skiing lately." The look on her face was, "who's this creeper." But I don't forget the BOS'ers I work with or their wives. I'm really liking my S2.
  25. @OB I weigh more than 180# and ski on a 66.5 S2. I like it better than the 67.5.
