  1. The thing about contaminated water is really interesting. My lake is massive, cold and unbelievably pure water. I have to pull twice as hard at my lake and I can always get another 6 buoys on softer water than I can at home and when I come back from skiing at other lakes I feel like I'm skiing on ice & always wondered why, even when the temperature goes up, it dosnt seem to make a difference. Now I know
  2.  I love my Animals and if your looking for typical rubber binging I dont think you can do better. The radars are very different, some people love them, some people dont. If you dont have an opportunity to test them first I would go with Animal front and HO RTP. If your shoes size is US then you want the small size, if UK then medium
  3. Well I've had 7 sets on the D3 CX and absolutely love it. Cuts much faster through the wake and much easier to hold an edge than the Triumph. Initially I had the bindings at 29.5 and the ski felt twitchy and I was right on the back of the ski. Moved it to 30 and it's so easy and smooth. Looked on the D3 website and recommended setting is 30, probably should have checked that before I got on it!  Thanks for all the advise guys, well happy and sticking with it.
  4. Surely the different feel of the same model, different ski is down to the fin not being set up properly?
  5. From what I've read some people have found the SS harder than the 2.0. I've found a 2.0 its just whether they'll let me borrow it now. Even if not I doubt I will go too far wrong with the D3, would be nice to get them both for 2 weeks tho
  6. The trouble is finding a 2.0 to test. Is the SS much different as I know the same shop i'm testing the D3 from has that.
  7. Thanks Horton, I'm used to the TGR forum for snow skiing and they can get quite abuse of newbies asking questions like that
  8. Just found a shop that will send a D3 up to me to try for 2 weeks! They aslo have the Sixam SS but not the 2.0. I think I will try the D3 first and see how it goes. Cheers for all the advice
  9. That would be awesome but I'm in the UK. They do the same sorts of thing at most of the main lakes here but they wont post them out I have to stay there for the weekend. I was at one last weekend but I wanted to take advantage of the coaching instead of messing on with my ski.
  10. OK thanks for your advice, I wish I lived near a decent shop!
  11. I'm sure people get bored of these types of questions so sorry in advance but I have no pro shop or decent coaching anywhere near me. Me: 6ft 168 pounds 26 years old Currently skiing 2007 HO Triumph 67" Consistantly skiing 30mph back to back and running 32mph less consistantly. Best pass 3 @ 34mph but only been at that speed once. I've been looking at Radar Senate, D3 Custom X, O'Brain Sixam 2.0, O'Brian Elite. Now I've been told the Elite is an amazing ski even for someone at my level as its got a wide tail but I find that hard to believe as I'm guessing its desgned for shortline tournament skiers. I know it's crazy money but if its a ski I could get on now and stay on into 13m then I could deal with it. If it's too much ski for me now then I dont want it. I've also heard the D3 and the Sixam are fast but quite forgiving skis. I was fairly set on the Senate but now I've heard mixed reviews I will try to demo before I buy but the decent pro shops in the UK are dotted all over the place and each stock different skis so I cant demo all of them. What would you guys recommend out of those 4 or are there any others I should look at. Cheers
  12. Just checked the prices of the senate and the C at the lake I'm going to and theres only 20 in it, should that make a differance in my decision?
  13. Scarlet I am in the UK but I am spending 3 days at a lake this weekend where I can try different skis but they dont sell D3 unfortunatley as I have looked at that. They do sell Radar and HO so I could look at the NOS as well or even a Nitro as they still have some left. boarditup I am looking at the Senante as thats what I thought. It's lighter and faster than the Triumph but still wider than the Tournament skis like the Annex or Monza etc for more stability. My lake is massive and I live in the North of England so its very rarely flat as we have a lot of wind so a ski that can take a bit of chop is a must. I think I will try the senante and the senate C and see what happens. Cheers for the help guys I'm glad I've finaly found a decent water ski site!
  14. Hi Shane, Would the Senate C not be a bit too much for me right now? I thought it was more of a 34mph tournament ski like the system 8
  15. I am 26 years old, 6ft and 168 pounds and currently sking a 67" HO Triumph. I am running comfortably at 15 off 28-30 mph and just struggling into 32 with my best pass being 5 buoys at 32. I bought the HO at the beggining of last season and it has been great but its very big and heavy especially as I have double animal bindings. I have heard a lot of great things about the Radar Senante and wondered whether it would be worth me getting that now? Any help appreciated. James
