  1. Yeah Im coming off a sixam ss and its a completely different ski. It took me 5 sets to match my pb for this season. At 52 kph I didnt really like the ski. At 55 it was better and now at 58 i'm starting to love it.
  2. Yeah i suppose changing the ski, the size and the binding all in 1 go wasnt so clever! Will try my double animal on saturday.
  3. OK so I went from 67.5 sixam SS with double animal to 66.5 A2 with reflex front and animal rear. Ive been skiing at 15 off 58kph and last weeknd cut to 22off for the 1st time this season and ran 4. This weekend changed the ski and I had 2 sets yesterday and 2 today and it was really very strange. I missed my 1st 2 starts out of the water!! and then couldn't get round 15 off at 52kph at the beginning today I was struggling to get round 15off at 55kph but ran it a couple of times. The ski turns like a rocket and is super stable and even on both sides. My offside has never been so good and I stepped on the front a couple of times and the ski just kept going and sort of rolled me back into position. So turns felt great but having said that, I wasn't getting the ski on edge and I was not getting any speed through the wakes and so was very narrow in the course. A couple of times I really felt like the ski was slapping the wakes rather than cutting through. I'm assuming this is just the learning curve with the reflex but everything just felt quite jumpy and I didn't feel a nice smooth connection between me the ski and the water, more dull and empty, sounds a bit wierd but its the only way I can describe it. I also got very tired quickly and the 2nd set today I had no energy. Any reflex users remember similar problems when switching over. Also I always had my double animal both pointing straight but someone said with the reflex being so stiff I should really cant the rear a bit?
  4. Mine was supposed to arrive today and just found out it got sent back to the shop cos packaging was damaged in transit!!!! I want my ski!!!!! Had a ride on the A1 for the first time last weekend and couldn't understand why i've been on a sixam for so long. Having said that i stamped on the front foot coming round the boy on my off side and it spat me straight out. Hopefully the A2 will be a bit less violent!
  5. Thanks for info guys ordered today!
  6. @ deanoski, do you think that set up would work with my animal rear. I currently have a medium for the front foot and large for the rear so there is a bit of freedom at the back
  7. Thanks for that roger. Ham Wallace, I am looking to change for the release safety as well as control over ski which is why I'm looking at reflex or exo
  8. I'm also gonna change my animal bindings to a either the reflex or the exo. I already ski a double boot so I don't see the problem with the exo but my everyone at my lake says go with the reflex? The problem I see with the double boot hardshells is that I currently ski with the front and rear boot as close together as possible. I even cut a little bit off the front of the rear plate of the animals to get them close enough. Particularly on the reflex, this looks like it could be a problem!
  9. Tanks for comments guys. Roger what was your take on strada over the A2. For me i would pay 800 euros for A2 or 1100 for strada so I figure if the a2 is as user friendly it's a no-brainer.
  10. Any skier reports yet? I'm debating the strada or the A2. I can get a much better price on the A2 in Europe but I can't try it before buying! Coming off a sixam ss & pb 4 @ 28 58kph
  11. Thread jack but do you have any dealers in europe?
  12. Try the sixam SS as well. I was skiing at 32mph towards the end of last season (best pass 2 @ 34mph) and tried the sixam, D3 custom X and normal senate. I beat my PB after 2 sets on the sixam SS. I bought it and I ran 3 @ 16m (22 off I think) @ 36mph last weekend. I have gone up 13 buoys in 2 months of skiing coming off an HO Triumph! I'm 6ft and 170lbs and skiing the 67.5" I found the sixam worked for me at 28mph and just keeps getting better. If at all possible, try before you buy!
  13. On ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150410297233&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT#ht_500wt_1182 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150410299349&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150410300422&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT#ht_500wt_1182 Location - UK
  14. I have hand grips which I use in the mornings but are there any other excercises that are specifically for grip?
  15. I'm LFF & have mine as close together as I can get them
  16. Just measured it, 67.5 almost exactly (including rocker)
  17. Yeah I think thats proably it, even the width along different points of the ski, the sixam looks wider to me than the D3 but in fact they are very similar all the way along. I will measure tonight!
  18. Had a ride on a 67.5 this weekend and loved it. Found it more stable than a D3 CX even at 28mph. So fast and unbelievable through the turns and actually very forgiving. Only thing is when I put it next to the D3, which is also a 67.5, it looks much longer. Does anyone know if this is a very big looking ski because I'm wondering if they could have marked it wrong in the shop and its actually a 69. Anyone know how you measure a ski?
  19. Well I will do some tricking behind it but i'm not really interested, I only do it when I'm too tired to slalom. Is the 196 really that bad for tricking? I have watched some pretty impressive back to back tumbles behind a 196.
  20. Cheers guys, I think I will go with a 196. Have decided not to buy till next year so probably will get an 09 with ZO.
  21. I'm looking at buying a boat and I'm looking at 2008 Nautique 196 or a Malibu Response Lxi. I am edging towards the Nautique but my sister wants the Malibu. Taking PP & ZO out of the equation, which of these 2 boats would you rather slalom behind?
  22. Guys unreal! I saw a video of him jumping, sooooooooo sick. I will try and find it
  23. http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q293/stone88_photo/ScottReardon.jpg http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q293/stone88_photo/ScottReardon2.jpghttp://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q293/stone88_photo/ScottReardon2.jpg
  24. Quite often, especially with double boots, people angle the rear boot slightly to make it more comfortable. This puts more weight on 1 side of the ski so by moving the front binding slightly in the opposite direction you get the weight balanced through the centre again
  25. i'm skiing at 30-34 mph so I dont have the wing on. Once I start running 34 I will put it on
