  1. Give us the story on the Vice! What did you think about it compared to your Strada?
  2. Check this out: http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=38192 This guy is doing a heck of a job rebuilding this awesome boat. When I first looked at the pics of the boat in the salvage yard I thought "no way, its a lost cause". I was wrong. Makes me want to find my own project boat.
  3. No one has any love for the Z7 ST? Just curious why not.
  4. I wonder how man calories are burned during one set?
  5. You have got to be kidding me. That looks too good to be true.
  6. Malibu Response LXi or FXi. The wedge and open bow make it a great boat for my family.
  7. "In winter, that's appropriate skiing". Appropriate, I'll give you that but not ideal!
  8. I showed up at the lake this morning at 10:30, drove my truck to both ends of the lake and the course was clear of ice but the turn islands had about a half inch of ice blocking them. I took the boat out there and used the wake to break up the ice. We had an east wind that ended up blowing the ice out of one turn island and cleared it far enough out of the way of the other island we could drop but not go around it. Air temp most of the day hovered just at or slightly above freezing. We had a potluck planned and I was worried we would all bailout of skiing and just eat all the good food.  However, I started pulling guys at noon and didn't stop until 4:30. It was an awesome day, a few skied well and few not so much. We probably had 30 or 40 people show up, I was pretty impressed.  What a great day and way to start the new year.  Hey Mike and Merle, you missed out!
  9. Wanted to get back into skiing again. Lost 100 lbs, bought a boat in February, joined Mint lake and found out I forgot how to get up on a slalom ski. No kidding, did all this and couldn't even get up on my ski. Wow was I scared (just spent 40K on a boat) and disappointed in myself. After some further tries I was up and once agian skiing. Ended up getting to 28 off a few weeks ago. Love this sport and everthing about it.  So, I learned a ton. Thanks to the guys at Mint Lake and the BOS guys. Â
  10. Two sets today in my Assault dry suit. Never got cold with it and set a new PB today. Super nice skiing conditions today at Mint.
  11. Hey I just noticed his ski chatter on his last pass when he pulled out for the gates. I go through several sets at a time where I start having the same problem. This comes and goes. I know it has to be caused by body position but is it because I have too much weight on the back of the ski or on the front? To me it would seem that I am putting too much on the front of the ski but I've been told by some ski buds just the opposite. Stiff leggs probably have something to do with it to I am guessing?
  12. Today is Scott Thompsons 63rd, b-day. Skied with him and Marry in the rain one set at lunch and then had my wife pull me late just before the sun went down. Absolutely beutiful water and the sun was poking through the clouds with all kinds of orange sun set shinning through. One of the better sets of the whole year.
  13. Sully that is one great looking boat! What a crew you have, the kids all smiles and the dog! Hey MattP, Thats not my boat, my son is in the front of the boat with some other lake members. They have a blast watching me fall all the time.
  14. I think this is something Marcus Brown has tried addressing a few time on his show. Its a tough subject and I don't know the answers either. I heard one of the guys on the Edged In Water 2 make the comment when they were in California that this was the first time he had ever free skied. Wow, how would a guy who has only been skiing a few years on open water ever compete with someone who has grown up on a private ski lake? Â One thing that looks promising for me is that there are several families at our lake and all parents are in their 30's and we all have kids (6 months to 4 years old) who so far love the water. The lake is a zoo when all the kids are there and everyone is pretty excited about what the future holds for Mint Lake.
  15. AND????? How did it go? Did you rip on it?
  16. Yep, give it a try. Or maybe I can be more specific next time. 9 degree. http://www.ballofspray.com/vanillaforum/js/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif
  17. Don't let Eddie discourage you. If you are hell bent on taking the tip off that ski, hang on and let the handle rip. You don't really use the tip for anything. Also, don't let the boat win that tug of war. You are much stronger than a 340 hp V8 with a 4 blade prop. Just hang on a bit longer or try clenchers. Ah, thats funny.
  18. Very similar setup, still working on it but so far I have the following (I think, this is all from memory, I'll verify this today): D - 2.495 L- 6.865 DFT 0.765 Wing 9' 36 mph I couldn't get the ski to turn on my off side when the depth was greater than 2.5 so I had to set the fin a little shollower and it seems much better now.
  19. I can't open them and I have tried all I can think of trying.
  20. So who did I pass on I5 just south of Salem on Friday morning? You had a motor home with Mastercraft and D3 stickers on the back. I drove by you in a white VW Passat with dark tinted windows and honked several times.
  21. In-Tow, both her handles and her ropes. I love her ropes and because they only have one loop at each line length. Super easy to cut rope. They don't stretch or shrink either.
