I showed up at the lake this morning at 10:30, drove my truck to both ends of the lake and the course was clear of ice but the turn islands had about a half inch of ice blocking them. I took the boat out there and used the wake to break up the ice. We had an east wind that ended up blowing the ice out of one turn island and cleared it far enough out of the way of the other island we could drop but not go around it. Air temp most of the day hovered just at or slightly above freezing. We had a potluck planned and I was worried we would all bailout of skiing and just eat all the good food.  However, I started pulling guys at noon and didn't stop until 4:30. It was an awesome day, a few skied well and few not so much. We probably had 30 or 40 people show up, I was pretty impressed.  What a great day and way to start the new year.  Hey Mike and Merle, you missed out!
