  1. First of all, if you are an open water free skier, finding your favorite spot on a public lake and ripping it up...you are my hero! Next, what is your goal on a ski vacation? Do you want to enhance your present free skiing technique or try to run buoys? If you want to get instruction that enhances and improves your free skiing technique, that is something that you will enjoy for years and years to come. Instead of making 6 turns running buoys you can make 50 continuous turns in open water while improving your technique. Which skier do you think will be in better shape...the one that makes 6 turns or the one that makes 50 turns...
  2. Officials are now measuring the compressive load on the spine during the stacked position in skiing. 600, 700, 800, 900, pounds of load on the human spine while skiing. Is it smart to succumb an already injured spine to a 700 pound compressive load repetitively? Do you think the spinal compressive load is going to make your back better? Neurosurgeons love skiers!
  3. I think it was 1986 in Wichita on the pro tour on the Arkansas River. I saw Carl do something that I have never seen any other skier do. At 38 off he severely broke over at one ball and down in the water...I thought he was done...he pulled broken over all the way to two ball...severely broken over down in the water...pulled broken over all the way to three ball...he ran the whole pass broken over and down in the water. I have never seen any other skier able to do that. And then tops it off with a tick tock.
  4. That is not a slack adjustment, it aligns your rudder with the steering wheel. Time to lube your rudder box and probably install a new steering cable. Steering cables usually work great until you get too much water in the bilge.
