  1. Chris is so cool. One year at nationals I was running my 35 pass and I messed up 3 ball a bit. I really cranked 4 ball and was right back in it. After getting back to the crowd after I finished skiing, Chris came up to me and said "Nice four ball man".
  2. On an open water public course without much protection you should be able to ski your best with a 12 mph head/tail wind. Any more wind than that gets tough for a recreational skier. Pro skiers are strong enough to handle more wind. I watched Regina run 39 with a 25 mph tail at Atlanta one time, with no rodeo. Jeff Rodgers did the same at the same tournament. Chad Scott ran a nice 39 tail at that windy tournament also.
  3. Professional instruction is always the best but here are a few things that I see. Remember that good skiing is always a sequence of events so the more of the proper techniques that you have, the better you will ski. The first is the pullout, you are leaning back instead of away from the boat. If you keep consistently leaning back instead of away, it turns into an inefficient habit. The next is the turn in for the gates. Get a little wider setting up for the gates and then make an instant turn in for the gates, not a gradual one. The third thing is body position behind the boat. It needs to be stronger with your handle lower.
