I bought 4 pairs. The palm feel too thin, but when I compare them to other my existing home made Talons they're similar. The problem is they rip up my hands up, quite the bummer. They also sewed the metal lock triangle to close to the wrist and it's not as effective.  The guys at Carolina Water Sports are great and I hate to nock their product. I appreciate that they are trying to reproduce the best gloves I have ever used. I made a pair with a set of HO 41 tails for my buddy at the start of last year and his still look great and he loves them after trying dozens of other gloves. I’ve made several other using the old HO Sequel gloves and they worked great. I like it when the Kevlar / Amara is all the way to the tips of the fingers and thumb, they just work better and last longer. I also like an extreme finger pre-curve, it really helps. We use that combination with a 1.1â€(Custom Order) or 1.062†diameter Accurate ARS handle and have almost no hand problems skiing 6-7 days a week. I'm going to make a few more pair Friday from a set of Radar BOA's and 41Tails we’ll see how they work. I use a commercial sewing machine but you can do it by hand. See pictures below. If anyone wants to buy my 4Wake gloves I have 3pairs of XL & 1 Pair of Smalls. I have only used one pair 4 times and would take $40 each +actual shipping cost.

You may find after moving the bindings forward the ST may feel a little squirrely when crossing the wakes.  It only took me a few passes and it completely settled down, I never noticed it again. If you’re still not able to get it to turn on you on side I would try moving the rear only binding back one hole. It always amazes me what a little binding movement can do.  Â

I 185-192lbs, 5'7" running old man 34.6 MPH 55KM behind 99 and 2003 Nautique with Perfectas. Typically run one 22, two 28, two or three 32 and then a 35 getting 2-6 balls depending on the day. The only reason I didn't buy the ST was I didn't gain any buoys. I think the ST is easier to ski on and significantly more efficient on the water. It rolled over on edge with much less effort, it needed to carry a little more speed around the ball in order not to over turn. It also did not hit you nearly as hard coming out of the ball. Good Luck.

I spent about two weeks on a D3 Z7 ST 67" and never touched the fin. I'm 185-190 Lbs and thought the 67" was perfect.   I found the ski was very sensitive to binding placement. Try moving the front binding forward one hole. It makes an incredible difference and never blew a tail out unless I screw up. I'm currently on a Fischer 68" Yellow and the ST was much easier to turn and significantly more efficient in the turn and the pull. I found the ST liked to be ridden neutral or even back a little. I would get up on the front of the ski 10-15' before the ball, once I felt the ski coming back under me I would set with a more rearward stance maybe 40/60 balance and the thing just ripped.  What a fanatic ski. The Fischer, like many skis is a 50/50 balance or maybe 60/40 in the pre turn and through the edge set. With the 9700 (I had one for a year) it has a lot more tail slide and the ST doesn’t do that. I also demoed a Strada 67†and found the ST much more aggressive at setting angle out of the ball but again with less tail slide. I found that the ST would gain angle even at the center of the boat, not something I was trying to do. My fin settings were the factory numbers, verified by Paul at D3 and I use Older O’Brien Contact High Wraps. I hope that helps.  Â

Guys, who makes the best turn, gate and guide balls, Overton’s, Bart's or other? The last batch of turn balls I bought from Bart's were fairly hard but seem to be holding up. I'm not interested in Goode's new product. I'm on a private lake with 8 houses so we have a few tubers and jet skis but it’s fairly low volume and they typically don't damage anything. Something soft but durable that holds up to the sun and doesn't turn to mush. An advice would be appreciated.

Guys, I just did a Google search on Strada fin setting and the Performace Ski site came up, I don't know those numbers are latest. The biggest thing I noticed when sking the Performace numbers was reduced effort cross coures, much snapper/quicker turns especially on off side, increased tail slide but it's never blown out and feals great, and more forgiving. I skied tonight and just love this ski 1-22(Don't need to do that one any more) 2-28's (the most control I've had in years), 3-32's back to back (no falls, I can actually play around and work on my form, if I come in hot just get on the front and it'll scream a killer cut, wow what a ski), 3 balls at at 35off twice,  I screw ed up because I can't belive how easy it is, I just have a brain fart and don't do the basics, it's killing me. I'm courious if anyone has compaired the standard Strada to Hortons Strada 55. I would really like to hear about the differences before I settle in on this one. Anyone try them back to back?  DW

ktm, I'm demoing a 67" Strata, 3rd set today. Had a very similar feeling to what you experienced with the fin setting on my demo. Went to Rossi's fin settings below and it is fantastic. It's the best stick I've every skied on.  I've tried the RS-1(My primary 09-10 ski), Prophecy, D3 RCX, Elite(three weeks on), Fischer(Great ski),Goode 9800(my 08 ski), HO A1 & S1, but not the latest 9900 Goode's (Bad experience with two 9800, will probably never try a Goode again and I've had 5). The Strata just fits my sloppey / scrapy style. Great 3rd set for just learning a ski new ski 1-22, 2-28, 4-32, and three balls at 35off, all at 34 MPH.  Only fell on the 35off. I have no doubt I will be making my 35off every day with in two weeks. It's the lowest effort ski I've ever owned, very efficient.  It allows you to go all back leg with shoulders too far back and still make it.  Dig to deep on the front and it doesn't stall bad and drop you in the drink.  It really lets you sense your balance on the ski, similar to the Elite and Fischer but better. Fantastic job Radar. I'm probably crazy but I have a Z7 ST on the way early next week. I picked up the Strata just after ordering the Z7 ST and never expected to like it so much it's killing me. Good luck I hope this helps you like it did me. ROSSI'S SETTINGS:Size   Boots   Depth   Length  DFT    Wing 65"    28 1/2   2.490    6.840   0.750   9 66"    28 3/4    2.495     6.840  0.750    9 67"    29 1/2    2.495    6.840   0.770     9 68"    30          2.495    6.850  0.790     9 http://www.perfski.com/cart.cfm?cart_action=item_info&category_guid=ce3223a0-0ddb-4aba-8a8b-55df8023db27&item_guid=350b0fbe-ffb2-22af-2647-6a510c31a92a Best Regards, DW

Anyone have any Digital or Video Camera Recommendations. I want to start filming our sets every few weeks to see if we're progressing. I would like something small, either a Digital Camera with a high frame per second rate or a Video camera or a combination of the two.   In the $400-800 range, lower range would be nice, +10MP camera & HD video would be great. I was looking at the Olympus PEM EPL1 or Sears’s guy recommended Cannon XSi (I have a 4 year old Rebel 35mm film SLR and a pile of lenses if they would work). I open to any ideas or recommendations. Thanks,

I have a 99 SN 196 with the Pro Boss EFI motor 665 hours,  my ski buddy has a 03 SN 196 600 hours. I can't tell the difference in the wakes, very little if any. Both have been extremely reliable and very well built.  Both great boats and I was a die hard MC guy until I skied 99 SN, I won't go back until MC fixes there rock hard monster wakes.Â

Guys, I currently ski almost every day behind a 99 SN 196 or 04 SN 196 both with PP and love it. I did a clinic last year with Jodi Fisher (Great Coach) and we were behind a 09 MC w/ZO WOW what a difference. My wife’s a 115lbs 15off 30-32MPH skier and I'm a 190lbs 5'7" hack who been stuck at 35off for four years, so I'm not the best. But I could not believe the difference in the boats and speed control. I could still bang out my 32's but it was significantly tougher. I believe the setting was B2. I thought it was partially due to the Rock Hard wakes of the MC. I switched to 99 SN 196 primarily because my wife had a herniated L4-L5 disc and the 99 MC wake hurt her back, that's still true with the 2009 MC.  I still love MC and owned several from 80-98 so please don't take this as an MC bash, I would go back to them if they could soften up the wakes.  I'm ready to buy a new boat and I'm curious if this OZ issue only existed on MC or is it also occurring on Nautiques? After reading through this tread I didn't see anyone commenting on the newer SN with OZ. I have never skied in a tournament but would hate to look like a ding dong when I fall at 1 ball on 28 off because I've never practiced behind it. How do the pros do it when there is such a big difference in the boats?  I almost want a MC with OZ to practice behind just so it easy if I ever go behind something else. Just curious on your thoughts.  Also, thanks for all the great info on OZ. It my first time on the site and the knowledge I gained will be very helpfull at the next MC clinic I attend.    Â
