  1. over the years I have seen a number of skiers not avoid injury by just letting go of the handle. situation awareness seems to be void with slalom skiers. they just don't seem to know where or what is going on around them once the boat comes up to speed.

core conditioning is key to minimize injury.  skiers that constantly break at the waist and hang on and try to get to the other side. these skiers invite frequent flyers points. Kenny Rodgers said it best: know when to hold em, know when to fold em. know when to walk away, know when to run.....!

nope! can't afford one on social security. new ski is two months mortgage payment! just going to ride the senate another season. it makes big spray and easy deep starts..

ok, going to make a change to my story.  have the opportunity to ride a new 67" Lapoint. will update after it warms back up.

  3. yea bite the bullet and get a new series 80 123:1  for your boats engine application. I recommend skidim or nautiqueparts.com for your conversion. it can be a puzzle as their are really no good instructions as these kits are equipped to cover a wide range of either ford or Chevrolet application. disregard if you have a livorsi all electric throttle control.  and yes the 80 can be rebuilt. however if it is Indeed electric shift be reminded a lot of those control's  have been updated/ replaced to date.

  4. about like having a heavy tournament load all the time. the deal was 500 ft pounds of torque and big pitch prop the boat was real solid to pull on. kinda like what we ski with today.

my son will tell you our 502 boat made him a better overall skier. the bubble butt ski Nautique was probably the most consistent across its build model cycle. there were no go into the mold and make "improvements"! probably the most wake friendly slalom boat ever. only complaints I ever heard were the deep shortline skiers commented that the 38  off 36 mph  said the drop off on the wake cross was a bit of a shock.

I bet you said the same thing about Perfect Pass and ZO. Probably don't like power windows in cars either.

Actually i was part of the in house development team at Correct craft that brought perfect pass to the oem. we did first.

And yes i drive a car with no power windows, was an option on a 71 GTO.....

  6. here's the key. as a skier run a lot of your opening passes and don't shorten the line. giver her some repetitive experience. also as a skier be patient and make your suggestions easy and with a smile.

however some people just don't get it and never will. they have to want to be a drive too..

my wife was one of those. when we had and skied behind the old flabottom v drive she could hit a 16.09 all day and in the lane. put her in a real tournament boat she struggled and does to this day even with all the electronic gadgets and boats that run on rails...
