  1. As much as it pains me, John is right, and he's seen me ski. For future reference, the Strada boots (both the single and double plate) fit both the D3 and HO pattern. The Nomad RC is priced right. Hope you can move it quickly.
  2. I am size 9 and wear a Strada size 9. It fits perfectly. If you've never been in a similar boot it will feel cramped when new and dry. Not to worry, it will stretch and mold when wet. If it doesn't feel a bit cramped when new and dry it's going to be to big in the end.
  3. I skied in hyperfreaks Monday for the first time and also made my first full pass at 30 mph (remember I'm a greenhorn). Coincidence??? They were as advertised, no ballooning, and it felt like I was skiing in my birthday suit. I'm sold on them!

  4. Nothing complicates my attempt to ski more than ballooning shorts. They turn my disposition downright irritable. I have a pair of old favorites that need replacing. I tried several new pair that ballooned significantly and I ended up skiing in my Under Armour underwear that day (yes I have pictures to prove it and yes the water was freezing cold that day :) I'll try to round up some of the Hyperfreaks this weekend.
  5. Ed, its good to hear that you have little issues with long term use of the poly mainline. Regarding the buoy arms, I went with the larger diameter sch 40 PVC pipe (can't remember the size) with sealed PVC flotation logs. I suspect the arms to last forever. I should probably add fresh zip ties to the logs to keep them on the arms. Is there any other zip ties that I should consider replacing (not including those on the buoy lines)? The zip ties on the buoy lines have a tendency to break with age. They are the only maintenance that I ever perform on the course. I think it'd be wise to replace zip ties anywhere else on the course.
  6. Let me qualify this by saying I'm a certified greenhorn. What effect does the boat driver have on the scores? Take the masters for instance, insanely impressive scores across the board on Saturday and unimpressive scores across the board on Sunday in nearly identical conditions. Could it be that the boat driver had a good day on Saturday and a bad day on Sunday?
  7. Another vote for EZ Ed. Great product and a great person to deal with. I've had one of his temporary courses permanently installed for over three years now. Its never been out of the water. I've yet to have one bit of trouble with it, no repairs what so ever. It stays amazingly straight. In the three years I've tightened the anchors maybe three times total.
