  1. On an 8 buoy course, the ball is there. Up through 32 off, if you backside it like you would a ball in the course, you will miss the gates early - actually very early. The same would probably happen at 35. Basically, the gates are down course for everything but shortline. If I were the rulemaker, the entry gates would go away and be replaced by a turn-in ball that was a few feet inside and upcourse from the zero ball.
  2. Had 3 over the years. Short term memory loss for a few hours. All were slalom out the fronts. Haven't had it happen in the past 15 years. Either my head got harder or I learned to ski a little better or maybe some of both. I had 3 or 4 in high school football. Soft head I guess.
  3. Does anyone know if HO has a demo program similar to Goode or D3? Interested in trying the S2, but not willing to pay $1,300 to give it a try.
  4. There is one house on Summers Lake for sale. It is a 5000 sq ft house built about 4 years ago. I am sure there is something for sale at Lake Point also. Definitely an empty lot for sale and probably a house. Both Lake Point and Summers Lake require home ownership to use the lake. The Collierville Ski Club is a membership based club. Their lake isn't part of a subdivision.
  5. The lake 12 miles SE of the Memphis airport would be Summers Lake in Olive Branch, MS. That is the lake where I live. Ric Stallings lives at Lake Pointe in Rossville, TN. It is about 30 miles east of the airport.
  6. The Collierville Ski Club (contact geraldmmoran@aol.com) is your best bet if you aren't looking to buy a house on a ski lake. If you are looking for the house, there is Summers Lake in Olive Branch, MS and Lake Pointe in Rossville, TN. Tournaments are held at 4 lakes in the area - Collierville Ski Club Lake, Summers Lake, Lake Pointe Lake and Crews Lake.
  7. After finishing his set behind the TXI, a hardcore Nautique promo guy made the comment that the 22 off wake was on par with the Nautique wake. My set behind it felt great, but they all feel good at 28 off and shorter.
  8. Took 3 sets behind a new MC promo with the new strut and the Illmore engine. Wakes (28 thru 35 off)seemed the same as previous years, but the power was much better. 1/3 throttle to pull up the skier was a major improvement.
  9. Why aren't the Strada and Vice made in China also? Nothing beats a good old 'Made in China' emblem.
  10. I am one of those that loves ZO. I ski behind both and sometimes choose not to ski when the PP Classic boat is out. I take good shots at 38 behind ZO and struggle with 35 behind PP. The pull behind PP feels like crap. My main ski partner (145 lbs) loves PP. He can run most of his 35s behind PP and runs few behind ZO. My nephew (240 lbs) loves ZO and hates PP. We are one screwed up bunch. I weigh 165 lbs btw.
  11. We have it bad this year. We have been fighting it all summer. Our water is currently like a hot tub. Cutrine and copper sulfate knock it down and then it comes back. We are trying grass carp, but it takes them close to a year to really make a difference.
  12. I have the fin pretty close to stock settings. I don't have the measurements in front of me but they are very close to stock (depth 2.504 I think). The same guy that told me Chet likes the binders back said he also has the depth at about 2.440. He thinks I should try the shallow fin, but I am hesitant to mess with things since the binding movement made the ski feel so good.
  13. It surprised me also. The ski wasn't feeling great the first few sets. We shot some video and I started seeing the rise at 35 and it was even worse at 38. I was already unsure about the binding placement and decided I needed to get that right before doing much fin work. That is when I decided to use my true heel for the measurement and that put me 1/2 an inch back from my starting point. Using that measuring point, I was at 29" from the tail. I decided to go with it. I was expecting to fall out the back. After my 28, all I could say was WOW. Same after the 32. My 35 is normally scrappy, but it was realtively easy also. I then went deep 38 a few times. After a few sets, I started to knock out some 38s and typically going deep if not running it. I have since gone one more hole back and am measuring 28.75 from the tail. I was told that Chet Raley likes the binders pretty far back on the mid also.
  14. I had the same tip rise on both sides the first few times I rode mine (63.75). I moved the binders back 1/2 an inch and the rise went away and the ski felt much better. I have Connelly Enzo bindings with the open heel so the measurement is guesswork. The 1/2 inch backward move came when I decided to measure inside the binding to my true heel. The ski went from feeling OK to feeling fantastic. I normally run 1 or 2 38s a month and have now run 6 in two weeks on this ski after running two this weekend.Â
  15. Trying a 63.75" mid after trying several Elites, a 65" wide and a few older skis.  I have run 38 4 times on the mid in the two weeks I have been on it. I normally run 38 once or twice a month. 35s are also easier. I put it at the top of the list, followed by the wide. The other skis were OK, but not close to the mid and wide. Still wondering about the 65" mid. I got to borrow one for a quick set and it felt amazing. I weigh 165 so they recommend the 63.75 for me. The first few sets on the 63.75 weren't impressive until I got the binder position right. I moved them back 1/2 an inch from the original position and it made all the difference in the world.
  16. Just checked their site and they are doing it free for a limited time. I guess all you would have to lose would be the shipping and return shipping if you didn't want to keep it.
  17. clemsondave, Didn't you get the 63.75? I have a 63.75 arriving tomorrow. I rode the 65 MSL for a set a few weeks ago and was very impressed. Out of the 7 skis I have tried this year (3 elites, 1 older D3, 2 Goodes and an older ConnelIy), the mid and wide are the only ones that impressed me. I am 6' and 165, which pegs me for the 63.75. It seems short to me also. You are about 10 pounds heavier so that makes me feel a little better about the length. You mentioned JD's settings, but I didn't see them in the posts. What are the settings you are using?
