  1. Just wondering if anyone has tried a Neutral Goode, any model and if any comaprison to specific LFF/RFF models...Having trouble buying in to the LFF/RFF scenario. Have skied on 4 different models of Goode's over the last few years, all LFF and one experiment on a RFF and none have given me as good of off side turns or equal turns both sides as the Elite or Fusion. Thinking a neutral lay up may be the answer??
  2. Counter rotation isn't about moving weight on the ski, countering is a step in leading with your hip in the direction you wish to go, for example as you come though the turn your hip is leading across course while the tip of your ski is still pointing in a down course direction, the weight is not forward on the ski, it should be more centered...

And yes, "countering" is still a good thing...all good skiers do it to a certain extent, some way more obvious than others...even Nate shows a difference between his on/off side turns...

Otherwise you can block out of the turn create lots of load at the buoy, have ZO beat you up though the whole pass and feel like you got beat up by a 3000+ LB 350hp gorilla after a day of skiing...

  3. I am slightly disheartened that ski companies and national sport organizations haven't embraced the use of technology, they are way behind in comparison to other sports...I fully realize it is a small sport and the cost expenditure may be large to begin with but there are lots of grants and tax incentives available for R&D purposes to offset expenses...in all reality it's going to be guys like you who go out on a limb and show them the benefit of this reasearch...

Getting a bunch of ballers together would be great to push this forward and to offset the expenses maybe as a group we could all pitch in to fund this type of project also...can only benefit every last one of us, information and results relayed to those that donate...

  4. Data collection is/would not be just about speed, it's about all apsects to maximize performance of the skier and the skis...It does amaze me that there isn't pros riding proto skis with sensors all over it collecting data, along with ones on themselves to track movements, muscle use, etc...I realize that funding is a large part (and not necasssarily available) of this but truly believe the skis could be vastly improved and the athletes themselves.
  5. @Than_Bogan @BraceMaker

I do not possess the technical knowledge that the two of you seem to possess, it why couldn't you set up some type of measuring device on the ski? Like a paddle wheel type unit or, mini pitot tube? Maybe set up off the tail of the ski?

I think what the two of you are looking towards is long overdue, we are in the stone ages when it comes to data collection to increase skier performance and ski design...keep it up!!!

  6. @Wish focus on that till your direction needs to be the opposing shoreline, even when you release to one hand direction still needs to be carried to shore, especially as the line gets shorter, then it's the lead hip that starts the transiton of the turn back while your ski stays pointing down course.

@Klundell is the split radius turn a result of an error from the previous buoy? Perhaps from a loading at course width instead of progressively to the wake? Which could be from an error from the previous buoy...and the one before...and the gate...but hey the deep water start was stellar!

  7. "Speed is merely a perception"...not a realistic word to use for descriptive purposes of a ski...unless mathematical evidence is present to provide factual results the description is unfounded and misleading...(quote from one of the most technical coach/skier)
  8. There are tons of different workouts to do, they will all work, but the big thing everyone needs to realize is that NUTRITION is the most important factor to getting lean and building muscle, without proper fueling your not going to achieve anything.

90+% of the population, even those that workout consume way too many calories and the wrong ones...just because you start or are working out does not mean you need more fuel (calories), choosing the right ratio of fuels (protien/carb/fat) is very individualistic and needs to be tracked, along with caloric expenditure during workouts.

The statement that you need to be in a caloric deficit is true and false, the odds are you need to consume less fuel than you currently are if your carrying unwanted BF, you got that way cause you ate too much and the wrong stuff...period, so yes you need to be in a deficit in comparison to your current self, but you need to find the caloric amount of the target weight you want to be @ and tailor it from there...

Your body needs Race fuel, not just premium...

  9. @Dirt I agree...our opinions as consumers help nurture and shape industry, shared opinions open people's minds to others views or change ones own views, all aspects of society have grown from this, we would still be in the dark ages if thoughts and opinions were stifled...@JohnCox you have no reason to apologize in my opinion, a legit concern, spending good money on a product you may not get warranty if the need arises, in reality from a business perspective, no one should have to call Andy and find out if warranty will be honored, as a businessman he needs to step up and reassure potential consumers and those that have supported him about the product and the future of his company, open communication goes a lot farther than silence, one definitive paragraph of honesty on their website would be all it would take...
