  1. @zman RGC makes the lifts that lakeside "manufactures". I was disappointed that Lakeside lead me to believe that they manufactured the lifts. http://www.rgcproducts.com/ Bought a replacement part for a neighbors lift. Just about fell over when I got the invoice for a short piece of chain.
  2. Lakeside actually doesn't make the lifts they sell. In fact I will never buy a lakeside product again after having to buy a replacement part.
  3. I bet you will find that most (former) wakeboarders moved to slalom or some other discipline if they have kept skiing.
  4. I had a friend that I skied with had a chance to ski in Russia. I guess the program there was you brought your own can of gas to ski with. When it was your turn you took the fuel pickup hose and moved it to your can.
  5. When you ski....do you bring gas or give money? I never take gas or money from guests when they ski with me for the first time. After that... I sure do appreciate when they take one of my cans and fill it. I like it even more when they don't even ask....just do it. Whats your take? Tim
  6. Chris, Thanks, I have never thought of that, great idea. Tim
  7. Looking for some surgical tube fittings. Specifically something I can use to quickly adjust the length of the surgical tube from the subs. I'm not looking for hooks..... more for easy adjustment of the surgical tubing. Anybody have anything they use?
  8. Interesting reading. If you have a free day of your life to watch waterskiing from the shore....which waterski discipline would it be?
  9. I don't think so. It was the 200 that had the windshield broken. The sport and malibu were ok.
  10. I agree on nixing the Olympic push. No reason to throw money at a losing proposition. The whole officials/rating system is poorly implemented. That is one of the biggest reasons we quit doing organized skiing on our course this summer. Its tough to comply with the sanctioning/officials for a couple hours of skiing. Tim
  11. Nice little pond there... I like borrow pits too.
  12. I give most of my extra stuff away to kids who can't afford it. There are several skis in the attic that are earmarked for a ski wall though.
  13. 40 Mins to private lake - mostly weekends/weeknights 5 Min walk down to public lake (weekday mornings and some evenings)
  14. Simple way to grow it is to charge per car for the event.
  15. 1996 Ski Nautique 176 Upgraded rudder/motor/prop
  16. Used to be a rated driver and safety but got tired of the hoops you have to jump through to keep it.
  17. I ran a weekly slalom league for a couple years with our club. It was good when people showed up. I was there 100% of the time, everybody else was about 60%. Frustrating.
  18. All excellent advice. Here is where it I am: The lake is going to be purchased by our family, its going in an LLC of course. There won't be partnership issues with the ownership so I have that covered. There is currently a club that uses it. The club is going to remain at the lake, probably will need to add a few members to make the numbers work. There are no deeded rights to use the lake. Not much grass to mow, maybe an acre. The club already has a mower for that. I understand that it will take effort as far as work and relations amongst the membership. The shoreline(s) of the lake will need work over time and I think we can just do a bit each year. The city is behind us on the whole thing. Its got great potential for tournaments due to its proximity to highways and ample spectator parking and viewing area. Everything seems to be going pretty good with the whole deal and seems to be a win for everybody involved. Nothing good in life is ever free or easy, thats how I look at this deal. Tim
  19. 6balls- I skied on that lake. I think we won D2 nationals in 2004 at that site. Nice lake.
  20. If you own a ski lake.... How is it set up as far as insurance, membership, rules...etc? Thanks, Tim
  21. @JTDixon Where are you calling home this summer? Drop me a line. Tim
  22. Just got the email with the USAwaterski survey. Appears they have read comments on this site. Thoughts? I'm a bit unsure of the "boat insurance connections" part of it. To me....its either I use USAws' boat insurance provider or I do not get coverage. Have tried to get USAws named on other policies with no luck.
