  1. @AB, no doubt that the excellent driving by John Shull from Hartville, MO saved her life.
  2. @OB, thanks for the offer, but I can borrow one temporarily from a friend. Just ordered one online and hope to get it soon!!
  3. @JayG80 thanks that was the info I needed. @SkiJay what was your made of??? The one on Nautiqueparts.com is only 19.95 for a brass one. @ntx the cops have made a report as 8 boats were hit in the shed. The plug being stolen added insult to injury. They even tried to pull out the throttle cable, presumably to harvest copper in the wire.
  4. Our plug was stolen last week when the boat shed was hit. Does anyone know the T-handle drain plug size for Nautiques?
  5. @Creeker, we feel your pain. The creeps that hit our boat shed (and the 8 boats in it) even stole our brass plug and tried to rip out the throttle cable presumably for the copper in the cable.
  6. Good thing we are both R foot forward @walleye, so I can test ride the magic carpet before I order my new ski =)). P.S. you only have one week before Labor Day Tournament
  7. @walleye and I are lucky enough to have both of our kids loving skiing. Emma, our 11 y.o daughter was on the boat @ 7 days old. I was pulling her dad that day, thought I had the car seat secured between the passenger seat and the pylon. When I pulled him up and straightened up for the course, her car seat slid back to the back of the boat. I shut boat down and needless to say secured her better for the second go round. Hubby was kinda mad I shut down as he was pulling out for the gates until I told him what happened. She started skiing @ 3. We had all the kinks worked out before our son Luke joined in on the fun. He started skiing @ 2 1/2. Even though taking the kids to the lake has been a lot of work, can't think of a better way for the whole family to spend all summer together! So far, my best memories with my family are at our lake and at tournaments.
  8. @KcSwerver Regionals and Nationals are usually at least 10 days apart for the Midwest, and for other regions, they were a week earlier. While a 3 week skiing vacation sounds great, most of us cannot swing it. The expenses are not as bad if both regionals and nationals are within driving distance from KS, like they will be next year (IL and TX).
  9. The live scoring website is great!! Does anyone know why G2 slalom scores aren't coming in yet? I thought they started @ 8am on the turnpike lake. Never mind, scores are online now. That is great customer service!!!
  10. We put our wet stuff on a drying rack in the garage and put a fan on them overnight to speed up the drying process and prevent the stink. @AB, ours runs out of room fast also with 4 skiers in the family, I agree, not complaining!
  11. I posted the same question this morning, sounds like homeowners are fighting amongst themselves.
  12. @KcSwerver - the re-ride was protected, I was one of the tower judges and I called in for re-ride due to the duck, protected re-ride was confirmed by the CJ.
  13. @Mrs_MS Good idea!! I am usually driving and just start to tighten the line, if they talk too much they get a really short set up!!
  14. Regular judge. @OB, that makes me laugh. @KcSwerver - scoring dude!!!
  15. You may want to remind her that most of the people on the shore have no idea what speed or line length she is starting at, if she is able to make her first 2 passes, everyone will think she is skiing very well. That may take the pressure off of her for thinking she has to make her harder passes. Our 11 y.o daughter and her friends like to sing bubblegum pop songs on the starting dock, so they are not really thinking about skiing, just having fun. Her nerves are manifested by over-excitement not tears. Another thing we have tried is to have her listen to her MP3 with a few of her favorite songs a few skiers before she is up (although this backfired when she told me I was sucking the fun out of it, so we immediately sent her back to dock with her friends).
  16. I can appreciate that!! We had a full day of sun and light winds yesterday. It felt great to ski without gale force winds. Your site looks great!
  17. We drew a course on our driveway with sidewalk chalk to supplement what we were teaching in the water. They used their scooters and bikes to "run the course". This allowed us to teach the fundamentals of backsiding the ball, setting angle, skiing wide instead of skiing @ the ball.......it also helped them with not get lost in the course when skiing at new sites for tournaments.
  18. @kindly, I agree with you on the Wally Skier bouy. We now have a complete set on both of our courses. I have run over them occasionally and hardly feel them under my ski. They are almost maintenance free, the algae rubs off with your hand, or if you let them dry in the sun, flakes off. We have had one set in the water for a year and no fading. Well worth the $$.
  19. WOW! Regina is a whole pass ahead of the rest of the field. That is amazing!
  20. Snowing and cold in Kansas City, @walleye is still in the midst of fishing season, catching his limit of walleye each day. Good thing I am in PHX with my ski, sunny and 86 degrees. My only problems are sore hands and body!! Nice problem to have!!
  21. Pastor said when we got married I had to trust that you would love our kids, trust that your would keep them safe even when you did things that I did not agree with. Obviously he was wrong!! And you wonder why I have control issues........
  22. Too many rules suck the fun out of the sport, this is supposed to be FUN!!!! Like @AB said, this is an amatuer sport.
  23. @mattp - I'm afraid that your assumption that MW3-5 skiers have more disposible income that we can pour into regional and nationals. We too have to budget in order to go to those events, possibly even more as we have to multiply airfare, food, lodging, entry fees x4 for my family. We went to both last year but for sure will not be able to afford to do so every year. Each tournament that we participate in we have to pay for 4 entries, gas for the summer quadruples for the whole family to practice, gloves/vests/skis x4........skiing is a calculated choice for us, too! Could not think of a better way to spend $$.
  24. Done! What your son has accomplished is very impressive. Wasn't this year's national championship his 3rd in a row? WOW! Has that ever been done before?? Congrats!
