  1. I agree with @jcamp Regionals are my highlight of the year for the same reasons he stated. I usually don't go to Nationals although I qualify every year. This year will be the second time in over 15 years that I will be going to Nationals. I love Regionals because I compete against the best of my region. Part of the reason the best is there is because of the requirement to ski Regionals. If I podium or God willing someday win Regionals it would be hollow if the best were not there.
  2. I have my brother's old Maha. Nice looking ski ..... and it's a wall ornament.
  3. @MISkier If I didn't know it I would swear that was Ed's old anchor wanker.
  4. I can't remember the video, but there was a great video on YouTube on the buffing process that was spot on. I'm sure you can find it or something similar with a little searching.
  5. I have a broken R1 if you want to try to repair it. It's free, just pay shipping. about a 3/4"-1" chip out of the side in front of the front binding on the right side. Handle hit it.
  6. Sorry. Should have read back a bit on this post
  7. Any chance they will come out with a bent option and possibly in spectra?
  8. The 2014 Mapple 6.0 for me also. Irrationally EP Comp X-2 (my first ski, man i'm old).
  9. The only problem I have encountered with the newer Malibu is the sightline for driving in the course. Once I got used to that all was good. They all (big 3) ski great and drive great. No issues with wake size. I definitely don't care what boat I get at a tournament.
  10. I bought mine from Harbor Freight. It is a large one. I then cut off the lousy hose and bought a better hose from Home Depot.
  11. @paul I'm glad the fix worked for you. You really put it together professionally so others can get a clear idea of how to fix these trailers. After fixing mine it really has been a great trailer with some nice features.
  12. The O'Neill is durable and very comfortable. But definetaly not as warm as the old O'Neill tops or the Camaro
  13. @Than_Bogan I think your idea of infusing the spectra with the poly is interesting but could the spectra fibers weaken the poly fibers somehow with the tension seeing how they stretch at different rates?
  14. I was told it doesn't matter anymore that the tank is full. The tanks today are plastic, not aluminum and condensation is not as much of a concern.
  15. @lpskier I hope the regionals are at Avon. Makes my attending that much easier.

  17. I went to my local tire dealer and asked for the lead balance weight. Put it in a $12 Husky bag from Home Depot. This gave me about 90lbs

  19. @jjackkrash You cannot compare kids skiing to adult skiing. Kids improve at a greater rate and adapt quicker than any adult. I've seen what you are saying about your son many times through the years. They just grow and adapt at the same time.
  20. I think a lot of skiers would be interested in renting it, but a 6 month lease maybe a bit long. Most northerners would be interested in a 3 to 4 month lease.
  21. You probably won't have much of a price difference between a early 80s boat vs an early 90s boat. Look into an early 90s boat. Much better wakes for not much of a price difference.
  22. I did run into 38 that day on it and had a hangover. So definitaly a viable ski boat.
  23. I skied on one a few years back. Wake is low like the 197, but it was hard. I believe the problem was the proping of the X-5. I would make sure to swap out that prop for the one they used on the 197.
