  1. @travnews That is exactly what I did. If I remember I started punching with a small drill bit, then worked way up to a screwdriver, holes not that big at all. No, I did not reinforce the holes, they do not show any sign of wear either. Yes, it is bungee type lace. I ordered the lace and front liner from jagersport.com Had to match the z7ST. I can put the rear liner on, then just slip into the R style, very easy and comfortable. I was originally on Animals/HO Phantom at the beginning of last season, then after deciding how great slalom is bought Senate/RS1's. I was always searching for the support that the Animals gave me, I over tightened RS1's and got hurt at end of last season, my fault. All dialed in now.
  2. I was on RS1's last season. Began this season with FM Evolution's (for sale, I like, kept losing screws, my own insecurities and running very loose) switched to Reflex front with r style rear. First set or two was a little awkward fore and aft, didn't get up the first time...lol. I was not a fan of the Reflex liners, switched to an Intuition front and a liner I got from H2Oproshop in the rear. I added the lacing; got the idea from a pair that were for sale on SIA. I run the rear buckles real loose, but the lacing real tight so it feels very secure. The front is great, very secure and responsive. I have not been in a situation for release, nor have I pre-released. I am running din of 4, I am 5'9 175, 34mph As far as gains, tough to say if it was just the bindings, have to give propers to Brooks Wilson and our local stud TB and switched to a D3. (PB 6@ 22 prior to Reflex, 2@32 on them) I can only say that I have lots of confidence and comfort.
  3. Having a second person help definitely makes it easier. I did it once by myself, must have gotten lucky or ate spinach that day. Find the correct size oil filter wrench, one person apply solid pressure to the wrench (pulling towards the bow), the other tap the wrench with a hammer, should loosen without an issue. Put the wrench on towards the middle/top of the FCC. Do not worry about the wrench damaging the FCC, it can take much more pressure than an oil filter. Good luck. Hope this helps.
  4. I was on a Senate C '10 also last season with HO animals, I switched to radar RS1's. The comfort gain was incredible, endless sets with no cramping. But to make up for stiffness I erroneously would over tighten the bungy cord, as a result I had a late season non release and wound up with an ankle injury. I decided enough was enough and I bought FM E's in November. Being in MA I did not start on them till april '11. I quickly got used to the hardshells, and the best part is that you can really crank the cuff. The comfort of the Intuition liners is great and the bindings are easily adjustable fore and aft. Another sweet feature is that you can easily test the tension on dryland. I never pre release nor did I get myself in a situation whre release was necessary. My only issue, I kept loosing adjustment screws due to my own paranoia of non release. I paid well over $600, I got the extra padding on the bottom of the plate to protect the ski and I got the extra Z clip buckle (which I took off and never used). They are size medium. I will pay shipping to the 48. $450. Let me know at mylesrsky@live.com. Myles.
  5. Travnews, I second a request on the bungee set up. Thank you. myles.
  6. At Horton's suggestion I gave the following a read http://www.ballofspray.com/component/content/article/35-ballofspray-water-ski-news/54-basic-relaxed-position, thanks Horton. As a novice skier trying and hoping to improve I have gone the route of self video analysis without the gains I have been hoping for. Instead of aiming all efforts on trying to look a certain way skiing, is it an advisable route to aim for what I am feeling on my body at certain points while skiing? In a relaxed position behind the boat, shoulders back, handle low, hips up, I feel locked in, every movement of my hips from one side or another is not only super responsive, but feels super solid just going back and forth from inside wake to inside wake. Physically i feel the forces of the boat in my butt and from above my belly button to below my shoulder blades, my core. Is it safe to assume that with the exception of when do not have 2 hands on the rope at the buoy, this is exactly what I should feel on my body throughout the entire course, the only thing changing is the handle going from left hip to right? And if I am not feeling this, either the handle is not low enough, my shoulders are not back, my hips are not up, and an OTF is quite possible? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you. Myles
  7. Horton, Apologies for going off subject. Aside from the wing comparison, thank you for the video of a smooth 28. As a novice (consistent inconsistent 22's) it is easier to pick up what to do when slowed down a bit as opposed to trying to watch a 38 and up (but keep those coming because they are sweet to watch). Also, while we are still free skiing up in MA, after I get up and set up for a pull out, I have been trying to emulate a gate pullout similar to yours. In terms of hip control and response, it works great. When in that body position, I feel the forces of the boat comfortably distributed in my back, shoulders, chest, butt. Should I feel these same forces every time I cut across the wake? I guess I am looking to train myself based on feeling, less on what I look like from a photo or flip vid from the boat. Any help from anyone is greatly appreciated. Thank you Myles.
  8. Any word on why Travers made the switch?
  9. It was tweeted real quick, but is JT on an A2? Could have sworn he was on the D3 site last month, definitely not on it now, under the radar for sure. Rollers get him as well? Did not think he missed many 39s in comp last year.
  10. Superfeet in liner or boot comfortable. Found when in the liner, if even a little damp, Superfeet were way too grippy and my toes would never get flat or comfortable.
  11. Stevie Boy, were you able to try both? What did you end up buying? Thank you. Myles
