At Horton's suggestion I gave the following a read http://www.ballofspray.com/component/content/article/35-ballofspray-water-ski-news/54-basic-relaxed-position, thanks Horton.
As a novice skier trying and hoping to improve I have gone the route of self video analysis without the gains I have been hoping for. Instead of aiming all efforts on trying to look a certain way skiing, is it an advisable route to aim for what I am feeling on my body at certain points while skiing?
In a relaxed position behind the boat, shoulders back, handle low, hips up, I feel locked in, every movement of my hips from one side or another is not only super responsive, but feels super solid just going back and forth from inside wake to inside wake. Physically i feel the forces of the boat in my butt and from above my belly button to below my shoulder blades, my core.
Is it safe to assume that with the exception of when do not have 2 hands on the rope at the buoy, this is exactly what I should feel on my body throughout the entire course, the only thing changing is the handle going from left hip to right? And if I am not feeling this, either the handle is not low enough, my shoulders are not back, my hips are not up, and an OTF is quite possible?
Any input would be appreciated.
Thank you.
