  1. I'll be there for sure!! I made it up twice to this site last year, with great results! 8ft PBs in Jump both times. Sweet site!!
  2. I have tried the target version also, but they are not of the same quality. IMO, it is worth it to spend the money on a few pairs that you like and are comfortable. They will last for a long time. The target ones I had fell apart within a few months. I personally like Rip-Curl, Hurley, and Jet-Pilots.
  3. 2 ski runs help with learning rope control. You have to have rope control to be able to do the 2 ski pass fast. I wouldn't work on 2ski WO or WBB. Too much risk of pulling groins etc. Plus 2 ski tricking is a blast!!
  4. Most perfer to rotate the rear boot some. The direction would be your rear heal will go towards what foot forward you are. In your case, LFF, your rear heal will move to the left of the ski, your rear toes will move to the right of the ski, aka clockwise. Most find it to be more comfortable. Just try it and see what feels the best for you!
  5. Will you outlaw Jetskis though?
  6. I agree with both of the above. Another way it can be explained is that the pull is continious, not all when you are in the front position. Think about continuing the pull when you are in the back, and then really driving your rope knee around. Good luck!!
  7. Bell makes a pretty nice BMX full fact helmet. It is slightly larger overall then others due to having more foam in it. They are nicely priced, and actually will add some protective value. http://joyride-cycles.com/clothing/Helmet/full-face-and-skate-style-helmets/bell-sanction-full-face-downhill-freeride-bmx-helmet
  8. At a collegiate tournament in Waterloo a few weeks ago, we were using my 2011 WTT boat and a 2009 Prostar 197 non TT boat. The 2009 is much louder then my boat. I dont feel my boat is "quiet" but it is quiter then the 2009. Probably not extremely helpful, but thats what I know.
  9. I agree Horton!!! Everyone needs to go to the promo boat tab and look at boats! Mine especially!!
  10. When I first started 3/4ing a couple years ago I would go OTB all the time!! I really dont miss crashing every other set!
  11. That reminds me that my boat and I will be going to Waterloo this weekend for the collegiate tournament cleverly named "Hawkeye Hypothermia" I have seen frost on the dock in years past. Hopefully the weather is nice. Razor, I may of been at that waterloo tournament 4 years ago... If it was 2008 I probably was there.... Back to what you are saying about the edge change, from my time in Florida watching and skiing with a ton of awesome skiers, I feel like the best ones are not overdoing it, and the number one thing they all do well is keep their direction outbound past the 2nd wake. They have switched edges, but they all keep the direction towards shore. I think someone earlier talked about the other said, and that is if your getting off of it too early, and casting out too early, you will apex way before the ball and run out of speed/width to get around it. Its that happy medium we are all looking for! This midwest weather sure has been terrible this year hasn't it!!
  12. This is my first year as a promo guy for MC. I will have better advice at the end of the year. I fear that stupid high gas prices will hurt the boat market. Time will tell.... I do love having the boat, and I go to most all tournaments in the area anyway, so it was kind of a no brainer for me. Good luck with your choice!
  13. 06 66" D3 Nomad(white one) to 2006 67" Jobe MPD for a month, to 2007 67" Radar MPD for three years with two weeks on an A1 in 2010. Now on 66" 2011 Strada. Need more sets to get it dialed in, but really starting to love it! Approach bindings on all skis, but about ready to find something else as they are about shot.
  14. Thanks for posting that article Horton! Great stuff!!
  15. No way... not a chance in hell I would ever even include the w*$# boa$*&s. Couldn't even type the dirty word. They are a complete different breed. Overall is a respectible event, even if it includes trick.
  16. Brent, Awesome video!!! Thanks for posting!
  17. @Phil2360, I hate to break it to you, but that run will not score 1290. From a scoring perspective, O and OR are the same trick as BB and BBR, so only one set of them will score points. Also, you will have to do WBBR right after WBB or it will also not score. Just a FYI in case you do that at a tournament! @Ham, Yes we all know about tricking, but as you said, in order to be a competitive overall skier, you must practice trick as well.
  18. I have been very happy with its cleanability so far. I did put a somewhat dirty cover on it the other day, and when I got to WI to a collegiate tournament, the interior was pretty dirty from the cover. Wiped off like nothing with a damp towel. Hopefully doesn't stain either! Time will tell.
  19. I dont think it is an exact science. As FA said, Ron's number is a recommendation, and then move to your liking. I haven't mastered the "Freddy Press" yet, so thats why I keep mine a little more forward. Speaking of jumping, it needs to warm up around here so I can go play on the sticks. Moving to 5.5 ft this year.... any pointers??
  20. @6balls, I grew up about 20 miles east of Okoboji in NW Iowa. I went to school at the other, better university Iowa State! Lol, so I skied at Dream Lakes throughout college. I know reside in the Des Moines Area and ski at Clearwater in Des Moines, and still do quite a bit at Dream Lakes as well. At least one day a week up there. Where are you at in MN? I know a lot of the college aged kids from up there.
  21. 94"'s... Well On my 2009 90" Goodmans they are mounted at 29.75 I believe per Ron's spec. I would guess that 94's are in the 31.5 to 32" range, but dont quote me on that. I would suggest emailing Ron @ goodmanskis@gmail.com to know for sure. I tend to run mine farther forward than Ron's spec by about an inch. Good luck!!!
  22. Oh come on.... you know as well as anyone that there is more to waterskiing then just slalom!!!
  23. Im sure you have a better idea of how many users on this site do more than just slalom. You could poll it perhaps?
  24. @Horton, Where are the Categories for Trick and Jump? I honestly think people are looking for a decent place to talk about these topics as well. The "other site" about flying is just a bunch of fighting with nothing productive ever coming out of it.
