  1. Just started on new Vectors this season. They are so comfortable I dont care about anything else..... seriously now. I tighten the lower strap alot and have noticed that after they are soaked in the water they get alittle loose and need an extra yank, just before I get up. The upper strap I just give it a tug and leave it. I agree as above I want to be able to kick the ski off when done WITHOUT loosing anything. The support seems to be fine and just a little less then a powershell but the comfort blows away all bindings...period!
  2. I think we all had a little piece of that dream one day.....long ago!
  3. So cool, Bad ass, neat, so American I love it! I would do the same in a second if I didnt like my stock design.
  4. What a beautifull area, if there was a spot in NY like that I would move! Great to see the young kids ripping it up to, inspiration for my own.
  5. Garn what do you think caused the tear? I rehabed two knees last summer and with a goal of being better than before. It worked, keep with it and drive for that goal.
  6. Just skied my new Vice twice and love it, you will to. With PB of 28 off at 32 I can say this ski is one to grow into. Its a freaking rocket! It can get ahead of you easy. I never had a ski slice the wake as well. My buddy is doing the "try it if you like it" ski test and getting a Strada and Senate so we can compare all three of them side by side cant wait.
  7. DW, the plate is 14 inches wide by 12 inches deep or out from the transom. At the tip of the plate I would say its about 2inches down from perfectly flat with hull. Any more than that will disturb the boats attitude to much. Although I may try to see where to much is. Skied again last night only 15 off again at slower speeds 30 and 32, OMG what a difference. Infact a 2003 Malibu owner said its by far as good as his wake and super soft. I couldnt be happier can you tell!
  8. Been there done that! There are many here to give opinions way better than I but heres my thoughts. At this point I would work on style and body positioning more than what ski you use. Seen many great skiers ski on junk in comparson to whats avalible now. Im 51 with 40 years of practise so the old adage "practise makes perfect" is my first thought to getting better. Second watch the great skiers closely, imulate their every move. Good luck to you young man!
  9. We will be doing some short line skiing soon if the weather holds. No footing here but the plate would help wake crossing if the tubulant center is ok. Unfortunatly the boat will be burning more fuel now but the wake is well worth it. All the test we did was with a full 32 gallons of fuel, now thats some weight to counter. Heres some more pics. The angles are very important I moved the actuator mount plate a couple of times but found a good spot. The other pic shows the holes needed to be drilled and siliconed in the transom. Third is a bracket I fabricated to hold the switch and gauge. Soory cell phone pictures. If someone wants to install one on there MC like mine it would be best to call me 315-436-188four.
  10. We just skied my 1993 Prostar 205 with a Bennet X-14 dual actuator wake plate. The theory was to raise the stern to level the hull as the hook does, but more. With the hopeful out come to lower the wake and soften it at the touch of a button. I ski Malibu's alot and always liked their wake much more than mine and their level running hulls. Well it worked great and it was the best $650 I spent on my boat in 6 years. We tested it at 15 off @34 and two skiers ( and my new Radar Vice!). Useing the dash mounted button and gauge we put the plate both all the way down and up during each run. Me and the other skier both agreed the wake hook was almost gone, no wake to climb up then down! There was noticeably more turbulance in the wake center which seemed to be very soft to cut when on the ski edge and seemed to come directly off the plate. No wheelies off the wake and should help the dreded OTF exits. To me this is a must for older MC's. I have a feeling the wake will be even better at shorter line lengths which we will test next time out. Also now my young daughter wont need to climb a mountain at 30 and full lines length any more. We tested it in 6 to 10 inch wind chop on the lake to. With a boat load it was great to be able to put the bow down to help cut thru the chop, a much better ride, 2 thumbs up from my son in the bow! A slight bow steer was noticed but it was minimal infact I felt the boat tracked better when the plate was all the way down and cornered tighter with less sliding. We ski on a river so turning is very important to stay out of the trees! I can post some pics of the install and get more technical if anyone wants.
  11. Ed, I just tryed my new Vectors and love them. Not a ton of support but the comfort and ability to shift my weight was excellent. You must of notice something you disliked?
  12. At 50 vintage I did a partial tear of the bicep tendon tightening a motor mount bolt on my kids jet ski. Lots of PT and constant rubbing to keep the blood flow. 1 year later still feel it slightly although it never effected skiing couldnt even feel it, surprised. Good luck to you injurys suck.
  13. Klondike, I have a 93 Prostar and just installed a Bennet wake plate. No real testing yet but soon I will post results. These boats already have excellent for the money wakes, you'll be happy.
  14. Glad I got one! Now we need some warm weather to try it. Horton do you have any measurment set ups to pass on?
  15. @ mkerzie, so how did it happen? skiing? what boots? Good luck to you on the recovery.
  16. @ Chris, My new Radar Vice is a 68", I ski 22 to 28 off @ 32 to 34, always issues with tip pressure with my old F1X. Any help is so appreciated to make my first run a successful one.
  17. Same problem here in Central NY Brewerton area. Come home after work to stare at glass river water no wind usally curent ripples only and my Prostar sits on the hoist, sucks! Just emailed ski buddys to possibly set up a specific weekday and time we ski every week like a league does. Anyone in my area.... call me 315-436-188four.
  18. Thanks the timing is perfect I just got my new Vectors and mounting them on a new Vice. Is there stock Radar fin measurments I can use to double check my ski.
  19. Im restoring my first Obrien all wood slalom around mid to late 60's? It has double rubber boots with rubber straps. They have cast alluminum ends that run from the back of the boot to the front. Im missing the rear straps, we use to get up with one foot out. There black about 1.5 inches wide and 12 inches long. This ski broke one leg and 2 ankles in its hey-day! I'll check back here to see soon.
  20. We set up our insta in 15 minutes or 1 beer. We use a ski boat for the main line and 2 guys and a 12 foot boat with a small outboard for the poles and bouyes 2 more guys. Put in every friday night and removed by Sunday evening as specificly stated in our permit for our semi public lake NY. We have approval for 2 weeks per summer to leave it in. Great course never a problem, HINT pull it tight!.
  21. Whats your set up weigh? New 68 RADAR Vice with double Vector boots, 9.8 lbs. 1998 Connley F1X wide body with double hinged Fast Backs, 10.8 lbs.
  22. Im in the middle of installing a Bennet wake plate on my 93 Prostar, 14 inches between the exhaust outlets and 2 hydralic actuators. The theory is by raising the transom levels out the boat and makes for a smaller hole in the water. My goal is to get a wake like the late 90's Malibu's, small and soft. I should have some info on the results in a few weeks. So far about 5 hours and 600 with the dash gauge. Got to go... and get it done!
  23. Interested in the difference between a wide ride ski and a regular? I just purchased a new 68 Radar Vice. I pushed to the limits for the passed 4 years a wide body Connely 69 inch F1X to 28 off @ 32. What should I expect or be aware of this season on a skinny stick.
