  1. Hey some docs and surgeons know alot about skiing. 1 year ago as I was in pre-op getting prepped for double patella surgery I started discussing how important it was to me up 100%. After explaining what I loved to do the surgeon explains how he skis with the family on a near by lake. As the world started to spin my last words were thats my lake too! We chatted alot after it was over the following day in my room. The deal we made, you teach me how to walk again and I'll teach you how to ski the course! Peter my guess a pulled or torn tendon or ligament, good luck to you.
  2. I think a hammer is better for hitting a nail in the wood or your finger! I rather be smooth and consistent. Watch the recent video here of Mapple skiing from 28 to 38 off the only difference from long to short is just a little more angle at the gate but he's so... smooth.
  3. Horton, I just unboxed my new Vice to! I cant wait till the Vectors bindings show up next. Your alittle high on the price.... I paid 425....oh ya it was a 2011 left over, lucky find 68 incher. Is the 2012 the same as the 2011 other than the crazy wacky black and blue? Does anyone have best overall binding placement and fin measurments for the Vice?
  4. Appreciate the info any names or contacts would be great.
  5. Im driving down to FL to my place for 2 weeks June 23 to July 6 from NY with the family. I always wanted to bring my ski on vacation so no withdrawls. Any one in the area to partner with, I can only offer gas and adult beverages in return for a few sets? Many searches havnt turned up much for slalom course near their.
  6. I went thru the same deal with double surgery, Jan. 2011. I skied all last summer 4 months after surgery. Never wore any braces but I was VERY carefull not to hot dog and fall. Pretend your a beginer all over again. Your body will tell you when to turn it on, dont push it! You will appreciate the fun of skiing all over again.
  7. @lpskier no I've never been there but heard alot about it. I m only 10 miles from Hanks pond in Central Square. Just met the owner this fall he ask me to stop in for some runs. I plan to go to a competion this summer for the first time. I ski the course at Jamesville Res. and at our camp at White Lake. My home is on the Oneida river, no course but the river to myself! Hey Lake Placid is the most beautifull place in the world, lucky you!
  8. Not yet Syracuse NY still 20's in the am and 50 days. Boat still in storage and lift on the lawn. Although discussed putting the course in soon with ball buddy yesterday. New Radar Vice and Vector boots in shipping mode. Just like Christmas at 10 years old! Yippy!!!
  9. I bet theres alot of discussion over at MC team talk about that subject. Heck you could probably find piston weight in grams if you want there!
  10. JDM, Im there with you on ability but ski at 34 mph being almost 51 so interested in your feedback. Just had a friend forward a sales note from Goode. Seems there trying to move out some old\new 9800's. The price is very Goode! got me thinking. You didnt like the Goode why not? Do others here use them. On one of our lakes there like a TV everyone has one, infact one is nine years old!
  11. You guys are making my knees ache! I'm also on the fence and ready to buy new bindings. Ive seen my best friends leg still in the ski rapped around the back of his head, yuck! I will neve forget the scene, he had a rtp and old rubber front Obrien binding. Question, those using the popular Radars do both feet come out on most falls and more importantly during an over the front exit?
  12. Sicko,s all trying to make sense why we love pain and get fat in the winter!
  13. Bogan At my home in Central NY our river is clear and getting warmer. The ice is at our lake in the Adirondack mountians, White Lake, the purest most beautiful lake in NY! Best part its where one of our courses floats! Yes.... pain I'm looking for to it.
  14. Tks Horton Im looking forward to the review. Richard Im coming off double knee reconstruction a year ago and looking for the safetest possible bindings. I'll give up performance for saftey now. Many of my sking buddies use the Goode hardshells and love them. I dont care for the low profile knowing full well my ankles are another week point. This site has been my inspiration to keep working hard to come back 110% tks to all!
  15. Anyone ski with them yet? This is crazy the wait! Im getting the itch and if Connelly doesnt move soon I may pull the trigger on its rival Fogmans. Or should I just do it? Plate bindings are a must this year.
  16. Still 4 inches of ice on our lake but this thread is a hoot! How true.... thanks for the laugh before bed!
  17. Parts pro-East tx I need a sending unit for my 93 PS 205, sick of running out of gas and having friends paddle us in with there own ski! Wheres the cheapest place to order one? The tank is coming out to install a new Bennet trim tab so its time.
  18. So a water filled standard bouy is less dangerous than an air filled. It may be to late to be thinking this hard but I dont get it.
  19. Wax...on Wax.....off Wax....on Wax....off and keep those detail and body shops busy beavers, we love the business!
  20. Our ski club is considering them for a private lake with alot of traffic. More questions: Do they get damaged when run over and over with a ski? Do major sized pleasure boat wakes effect them? Or do you always have to adjust the height?
  21. Stevie if its any help your doing well on recovery it could be MUCH worse. Jan 18th 2011 I tore both patellas completly could not walk for 7 weeks, after did pt until mid summer 2011. Since I hit the gym 2 to 3 times per week every week after much training with a pro that studied our sport. Now 1 year and 2 months I can say Im better than I was. It was hell for months now the pt-work out is my life. JUST DO IT MAN skiers are tuff !
  22. Yes ! follow the lead of more succesfull sports and skiing will move forward. GO-PRO!
  23. This is a good time to ask this question, why would anyone need more hole shot??? With our 285 hp we never use full throttle to get me (200lbs) up or anyone else. It was 5 years ago the first time getting up behind my new to me MC I heard a loud snap noise. Thinking I ripped a vest buckle I finished skiing that run. That night in much pain I knew I did something bad. Next day after xrays I torn many ligements in my chest! Done skiing for half the summer, sucked. SO...... why the need for that hole shot?
  24. skinut, We have run into the same problems. 4 years ago we started a ski club on our public lake. The club has learn to ski days, lake clean up days and members are present on other association boards. Its work but worth all the effort. So far so good, were even discussing spending the bucks on the Goode safe bouys this coming season. I agree with most use diplomacy make peace not war! In the end we all have to suck it up some useing public water. I guess we just get use to getting up and jumpin in the glass water for a set at 7 am at 50 degrees ! Good luck.
