    The course I ski is on a very busy public lake and the outside of the course is marked by these marker bouys with "ski course area" on them. They're not meant to stop people, but they seem to do a pretty good job of informing people who don't know any better and makes them a little more courteous. We have to replace very few bouys over a season. Maybe a couple of these at the end of the course might help? http://www.boatersland.com/surmark1.html

    Went through the same thing this summer with a 99 GT-40. It was a faulty oil pressure switch causing the ignition to go into "limp mode". The oil pressure sensor and switch are located behind the fuel filter canister. The sensor is dome shaped. The switch looks more like a cylinder. Unhook the wire that goes to the top of the switch. Then run your boat and see if that solves the symptoms. If that's the problem you can get a new switch here. http://www.skidim.com/prodinfo.asp?number=R020015A

    2010 and 2011 are the same ski. 2012 is the same shape with a different layup of carbon (which is discussed in the link skiing2heaven sent).

    Personally, I prefer skiing the Senate over the Strada when freeskiing in rough water. It's also perfectly happy in the course at 34 mph. The Strada is a great ski, but if you're skiing in not so great conditions you might prefer the damper ride of the Senate.

    I have. It works great for me. You can also use an ear syringe with warm water to flush the ear and then use the hydrogen peroxide.

    I don't think you can equate his max G's to his "max resistance". G's are affected by change of direction and accelaration. It seems his max G's coming off the second wake are due to the ski contacting the water again coming off the wake (~vertical change in direction and acceleration) combined with the start of his edge change(~horizontal change of direction). It may be more useful to note where he achieves his max velocity.

    2011 Senates are based off the Strada. 2010 and earlier were based off the MPD/RS1 mold. I've skiied both and they are forgiving enough for beginners but will also get you into 34mph and shortening the rope a couple loops. The Lyric is from the same mold as the Senate but with a softer flex.     I would recommend he look for a 2011 if possible. The new shape is a def improvment. If budgets an issue, he should try the regular senate. I was on an 09 senate c last year and just picked up a 2011 regular senate a couple weeks ago. The '09 was a great ski but the '11 is even better. It'll help him get through 22 and is plenty of ski to shorten the rope 2-3 more loops.

    FWIW - You can usually find 2010 Stradas on ski-it-again for the same or less than a Vice. Not a bad way to get into a top of the line ski at half the price of new.

    I moved to a 67 Strada this spring as well and have tried Rossi's and Rini's numbers. Rini's numbers felt more comfortable to me as a starting point. The tip stays down better in the turns and the ski seems more stable despite my poor early season form.

    This is what Sully shared with me as a starting point: 2.500 .780 6.850 Binding placement is dependent on the ski size. It's right at 30" for a 67" ski.
