  1. I got mine from a nice fellow in Colorado who must have never used it. It did not have a single mark. Not even binding marks. Came in the original package with all paperwork and everything. I opened the box like it came from the factory. I'm the second owner technically and wouldn't expect Obrien to care about me, but wow if they do, I would be a rider for life! Im am beside myself at how wide it gets and effortless the ski feels. I'm having the best rides of my life so far. I just don't want it to stop.
  2. Arrrggghh! Felt a bump while skiing in a slow straight line after exiting the course. Thought nothing of it and did some free skiing, then I taught a friend how to deep water start, and after that, I pulled the wife around on the new Sixam 2 Point. Had a few more runs before we lost the sunlight and packed it up. Next day I was pulling my beautiful shiny Elite Quattro from under the bow and I noticed an inch and a half long white line on the base of my ski just under the rear foot heel. Upon closer inspection I realized the white line was not a scuff but a crack in the carbon structure and the core material has been indented by the length of the crack plus another four inches back. I thought the RTM skis were super strong. If Obrien doesnt take care of me, which I do not expect them to because it is not them that is at fault, does anyone have a suggestion for another "Wide Style" ski that could replace it? I have heard some very good feedback about the customer service from Obrien, and was just wondering ..... Or complaining really. Thanks for listening. I dont know what I am asking. These things are such a bummer, but another excuse to buy more skis! Haha.
  3. @ShaneH, length setting seems a bit long. Is that right?
  4. The closeout Sixams on the Overtons Outlet side of the Overtons Website seem to be Sixam 2 Points. I bought a 66" and received a 66" "Silver Surfer" with Black bottom. I'm sure it is a Sixam 2 point because the Base says so. This is such a pretty ski! It's like a jewel. Awesome, Awesome.....! And let's just say the Wife was very happy with the surprise. I'll leave it at that! Does anyone have the Fin Settings for a 66" Sixam 2 Point?
  5. Sorry to threadjack. I'll post up what ski we get from Overtons when I see it. Hoping for a "Silver Surfer" ski. Now back to your normally scheduled program....
  6. @Sherwood. Wow, I thought I was living in the Slalom desert of America. It's been amazing to learn that I am within an 1hr and a half from 5 or more slalom courses. Ballfspray is irreplaceable for our sport.
  7. Yeah, that's exactly why I was asking. I just ordered one for my wife as well. I've had her on a 67" Strada55, but she keeps dropping weight after baby #2. So I picked up one of the 66" Sixams for her knowing whatever Sixam we receive will be money. I'm also pretty excited to give her old Strada a go!
  8. Any clue as to which Sixam model those Sixams are on the Overton's Website?
  9. Yeah I am looking for a course. My main lake is Blue Marsh Lake just north and West of Reading PA. I know of the Black Rock Boat Club in Phoenixville that has a course on public water (Schuylkill River) and I have tried to become a member. But I got blown off. Not a big deal though as that club is more than an hour and a half East of my place. I guess what I am REALLY looking for is if anyone has some sort of super sneaky hidden lake with a course in the central PA area. Maybe a private one? I sure doubt it though.
  10. That triangle grip made my brain see stars and question marks. How does it work? Looks mighty uncomfortable. Educate me.
  11. Put a towel around or over the top of a chin-up bar, grab each end of the towel and do pullups to failure. After that just hang if you can. Maybe even jounce your body weight against the bar while your feet are off the ground (still hanging onto the towel) I know its not the real thing but as close as you can get to duplicating the environment your hands will be working in while skiing. Plus, no need to buy anything! Everyone has a towel.. well, I hope. ewwww....
  12. I would love to Ed. You are EZ Ed right? I have a very young family and I am building a home at the only available lake nearby where I live in PA. If new was in the cards at this time, you would have an order tonight. I hear you are doing very good things for guys like us. Thanks Again!
  13. @Sully let me know I'm Ryan Ryan R Mitchell at A. O. L. dot com
  14. Not much else to say. Any help would be appreciated.
  15. Putting together the plans for building my home at the lake... and clearing that land... and slaving on that land. Debarking 70 Trees for a Log House by hand should get me to oh, say, 4@43 off right?
  16. Looking on the HO Website, I noticed there is a pic of the rear release mechanism and the bar isn't sitting right against it any longer. Was the bar shortened that much?
  17. Post some pics and point out where the shortcomings were. My boots are wearing pretty bad cosmetically in the toe, but it affects nothing. Nothing on the boots has broken either. I'd like to see the specifics.
  18. I have three pairs, well, only one pair is used. The others are for parts if I bend a bar or break a toe piece. So far I have not bent a single bar but did toast two or three toe peices. Fit great. I use my own judgment regarding how tight to set the release tension. I only use the the chart as a rule of thumb. People may be getting hung up there thinking the chart is the end all and be all regarding the release setting. Just like everything in waterskiing, with never ending variables affecting the outcome. Also, There is a ton of room between each setting letter. It would be interesting to see a super "HighTop" option for the front boots.
  19. Lp, what lake in PA did you ski? I am in PA as well and have no access to a slalom course. Not going to Pittsburg anytime soon either. Sorry to threadjack. Now back to your normally scheduled program...
