  1. Thanks to all! I'll delete & remap and turn off auto detect and see. I'll repost if it works.
  2. Does anyone know why - I've mapped it in both directions - weirdest thing??
  3. Great job @Horton for your position on allowing these discussions to post. It's gotta stay civil and stick to the facts but this is the place for clear and accurate information.
  4. I'm on a 68" Quest 45 and it's the best ski I've been on in years by a mile Totally factory on the fin and wing but I just went to the D3 site and I see they have updated the settings. I'm at 6.935, .4515, and .750. It's fast, early, stable and I have space. Bindings are 30.5. Now to be fair I'm skiing at 32MPH (65 years old) but for the first time in a few years I can run right up the line into 35 off. I have to let off way early to keep from running too wide.
  5. @mshaw200 is exactly correct! I cram my medium hand in a small glove and eliminate the release problems (and a number of other problems like bunching, twisting, etc). I think all water ski gloves should fit very tight.
  6. I feel @eleeski is correct - It took me a while to make the transition. At first they all feel impossible.
  7. I had one more picture - This was taken a couple of years into Jacks treatment - He went strong as long as he could
  8. This morning my great friend Jack Middleton from Meridian MS died after battling cancer for over 5 years. Jack never gave up the fight from the first diagnosis. We spoke on Saturday and he still talked of skiing and fin settings and wind conditions. Jack was a friend to all - he taught lots of people the ins and outs of skiing and generously opened his Dream Lake to anyone that came out to ski. Jack had all the qualities - honesty, integrity, compassion, and a great big heart. OB is going to post some pictures. If you knew Jack you liked him.
  9. @skihard - Love your enthusiasm! If you can fix things and prove me wrong it's a win for both of us.
  10. Four pages of what's wrong with competitive skiing - Here it is in one sentence - IT'S WAY TOO HARD. More rules, less rules, -no rules! It wont matter. People in today's world just don't care enough about anything to work that hard to a point of failure ( as Schnitz once said) Write 4 pages on how to maximize the enjoyment of what we have left. a thousand water skiers aren't going change the direction of our society.
  11. John you may ban both of us but I think OB has credibility on this issue.
  12. Wife/Driver for sure #1 then I gotta say my US GEAR radius handle but US Gear is impossible to deal with. What a shame cause their stuff is nice.
  13. zippin_2 That's funny! I'm too old to matter Men's 7 this year.
  14. When you ballers get a new ski how thoroughly do you scrub the bottom to remove the mold release? What do you use, sponge , scrubbie pad, etc?
  15. @Ipskier I think you might be on to something with this zone idea.
  16. I used to use an .880 diameter 11" custom grip and I loved them. I never missed the grab and I felt it concentrated my pulling power. In my last few seasons I went to a small diameter bent handle (US Gear 12"). They are great handles but US Gear is really a challenge to do business with. I do feel the bent handle reduced the elbow pain.
  17. Here's another thought. Skiing also requires people to take their baggy clothes off and put on somewhat revealing bathing suits. Most young people I see these days are pretty reluctant to do that.
  18. @ipskier has it about as right as its gonna get
  19. I just heard this from someone - slip a plastic grocery bad over each foot and hand and then slide through the seal. I didn't try it but it makes sense.
  20. Buy it to use it! But we only use it as a slalom tug. 16.95 seconds at a time doesn't rack up a lot of hours.
