  1. Hey Guys - For once I completely agree With John Horton. US Gear/ Randy was just bad business. After about 4 months I was able to get my money back (his wife sent me a check) Do NOT send any money to him. Call Brenda - they are different but just as good or better. I thought I would have trouble with the "grab" but I didn't.
  2. The US Gear handles were the best! Period. Randy was not. ML's are a whole different product. I switched to Brenda's handles and they are great!! Spectra rope, accurate, always pull even. I'm happy Randy forced me to switch.
  3. I had a similar issue - Horton advised against it (adamantly) Of course I tried it anyway! Stopped the pain first ride. Can’t say it improved my buoy count but it certainly didn’t hurt it.
  4. @liquid d Yes for sure 300 were too small and probably few survived the bass. The second 300 were all 13” and larger. We waited 9 months to get big ones. They all survived and we could see them swimming and eating grass. They couldn’t eat as fast as it grew. After sonar our hydrilla is gone.
  5. Sonar works period! Very expensive. Hydrilla so bad you could walk across our lake. Sonar perscription and in 3 months all gone. In some areas hydrilla 18 feet long. PM for details on how we did it. PS. 22 acres, average depth 18 ft. 600 grass carp didn’t even come close to making a difference.
  6. @Horton - John you are pretty emphatic about not twisting the front binder. What are your thoughts/reasons? My original inquiry was based on my knees hurting and I thought it might help relieve the twist on them. Just experimenting on the dock, If I stand on a line on the floor in a water ski stance (toe to heel) RFF - I am much more stable if I have a bit of twist on both feet. The front toe slightly to the right and the rear toe slightly to the left. Shifting them straight in line I can hardly balance enough to stay standing. Again= Your thoughts?
  7. Is there a consensus on the results of rotating bindings? Right foot forward, I have always rotated my back binder as far left as possible. I’m thinking of turning my front binder to the right a bit. Standing flat on the floor I feel more stable in that position. Plus my knees are starting to ache and I thought that might help. What’s everyone doing?
  8. Even a north / south course has an issue at certain times of the year At least in Florida going into the gate and 1 from the north in the late fall Blinding!
  9. A funny / interesting story: I own a small outdoor lighting distribution company in Orlando, Altamonte Springs actually. Maybe two years ago or more, Mark (who was at the time, a rep for one of our manufacturer/suppliers) came in and introduced himself. We talked lighting and products and the usual industry stuff. As we were wrapping up the visit I commented that somehow he seemed familiar to me. For a minute we shook that notion off. As Mark was about to leave I asked him what he was “in to” and “ what do you do for fun” I have know idea what made me ask that- we usually try and run sales reps out the door as fast as possible. Of course he said waterskiing and then everything clicked! We spent the next hour and a half talking skiing and all The who, what & when of waterskiing. From time Mark would take the time to pop in and catch me up on the water ski community happenings. We talked about getting together for a ski day but I never reached out to set it up. Even though I didn’t know him all that well his passing has really hit me hard. I regret the missed opportunity but mostly I’m just very sad
  10. All the rest of us nobody’s on here would sure like to hear the back story to all this. Any chance of that happening?
  11. Please give this whole thread a rest! Once and for all time.
  12. Forget it and save the aggravation call In Tow
  13. As a rough in set it 3 lines deep front and back 1.945 DFT Bindings all the way forward (Carbitex on a sequence plate) Try it! By the way I think that DFT number is very sensitive. If you want I can provide length depth and leading edge.
  14. Yes works great - I like it The whole set up is sensitive to fin changes so you can easily dial in setting that change the skiing characteristics.
  15. @ dbutcher now that is a good price
