  1. I think so. There are two U-bolts near the bottom of the pylon on every Nautique I've seen. The bottom one is 2-3 inches below the top one and about 2-3 inches above the boat floor. They don't have to be very loose to cause the creaking noise. The Nautiques I've tightened required a 3/4" deep well socket. Don't be afraid to tighten as hard as you can pull with a normal ratchet wrench. Tighten both sides of the U-bolts as evenly as you can. If those nuts are as little as a half turn loose, the pylon will creak. I think the bottom of the pylon is in a bracket that is fiberglassed to the hull. It's not likely that that is loose, but anything is possible.
  2. Or did you mean attach to tow vehicle AND zip tie to chain so it's not forgotten?
  3. In a real break-away, would it function as intended when attached to a safety chain instead of the tow vehicle?
  4. I am in Men 8. At local tournaments I am almost always the only one. I compete against my personal best and the standings list. I always have competition, and I always enjoy tournaments.
  5. I'm not sure a 2006 SN196 is drive by wire. I think the first Nautique dbw was 2007.
  6. Another is on the north side of I-12 in Mandeville (I think). It's not far from the north end of the Causeway bridge from Metairie. And of course there's a Covington site mentioned by lpskier.
  7. There's also a site in Slidell on the south side of I-12 just west of Louisiana Hwy 11. I don't think they have a jump any more, but there is a slalom course, and you can trick anywhere. I don't know a contact anymore.
  8. I had a 2007 PCM Excalibur 330 that did the same thing at 4 ball. It turned out that when I had the ECM reflashed at a local ZO parent company location for the installation of ZO, something didn't go right. One or more of the ECM readings were outside PCM parameters. I sent the ECM to PCM for reflashing. When I got it back, the problem was gone. I have a friend whose 09 check engine light came on sporadically, That turned out to be the wire between the knock sensor and whereever it goes (probably the ECM). Reportedly PCM had to manufacture the replacement wire because that style isn't currently used.

@scotchipman I've noticed the same thing. Most 6.0L 200's run the Acme 668 prop. Most 5.7L 200's run the Acme 654. The 668 has a .150 cup. The 654 has .105 cup. My theory is that the heavier cupping makes the slalom wake feel harsher.
  10. Go to your region's winter meeting. Most regions have them in January. Voice your opinion there or through your council person who votes at the regional meeting. AWSA Headquarters employees do not make decisions. The board whom we elect makes decisions. HQ personnel follow/enact the board's decisions. At least that's my understanding. If we blame AWSA for anything, we are blaming ourselves. Don Butcher
  11. Most 6.0L 200's use Acme's 668 prop. Most 5.7L 200's use Acme's 654 prop. The 668 has .150 cup. The 654 has .105 cup. My personal, unproven and subjective opinion is that heavier cupping makes the wake harsher in any brand of boat.
  12. Use a 12 v pump that you can hook to your boat battery, but go to an auto parts store and buy a short piece of metal tubing (like brake fluid line) and a fitting to attach the metal tube to the plastic hose from the pump. The metal tube doesn't bend or flex and is therefore easy to insert into the transmission. Put a slight angle on the end of the tube so it doesn't sit flat agains the bottom of the transmission case.
  13. @Tbub, I'm a good bit older than you and switched to double boots several years ago. I had trouble getting up for a while because it hurt my back. One foot get ups never hurt my back or my hamstring. After while with the doubles, I learned that leaning forward so far that my chest rested on my front knee and letting the boat do all the work (not trying to stand up for a long time) eliminated the back issue and also gave some stability. I didn't notice any hamstring pull ever, but I'm not sure this method will work for you. I'd say it's worth a try, but let go at the instant you feel a hamstring tug. Hamstrings take too long to heal. Don
  14. I think I have one, but I'm not sure it's an underneath mount. It came off a CR7. I'm new on this site - not sure how to contact you. If it's what you need, you can have it for the freight.
