Turned 65 last year and reduced boat speed to 32 mph, thought I would need a wider ski but was wrong. Ride a 67" 5'10" - 180 lbs. I am very happy with this ski.

I agree with Thager on the liability. Someone on our lake had a tube like the Manta many years ago. It only took a couple of bad crashes to see that this was a bad idea. The rider had little to no control and often crash hard or fly off. I think this product was eventually recalled because of safety concerns. Before you go too far I would check into liability insurance...if you could even get it.

I had heard that the newer versions of the 200 when Natique moved the manufacturing to Bryant are 300 to 400 pounds heavier because of the materials used and manufacturing process? This would certainly add to the 22 off wake. Some people just can't leave a good thing alone.

I fractured my ankle in 2019 skiing, had surgery and was off the water for about 3-4 months. I was using the Radar boots and had them too tight...my bad. I purchased the MOB system as a stop gap protection until my ankle got stronger. I used the MOB system for about a year and a half. It got me back on the water and added additional protection for my bad ankle. It was not the best set-up for me, but I lived with it and I was able to get back on the water. I also have size 12 feet and use the Radar boots. With the MOB system I could not get the rear boot as close to the back of the front boot as I could with the Radar sequence plate, and I could not "cant" the rear boot like I normally could. It also made the ski heavier and rode lower in the water. I was able to ski but I lost about 6 buoys. I also agree on the front of the MOB system was held to the ski by double sided tape and not inserts. That section eventually cracked, making the system useless so I stopped using the MOB system.

Yes I know about the 15% sale, that is what peaked my interest. Not the most popular selling ski, so it is hard to get feedback. Horton gave it a good review last year. I do like my Platinum, but got the 2 year ski itch. My onside on the Platinum is wicked, offside good but not like onside. Going to move increase DFT a little this weekend to give it a try.

Just wondering if any baller out there was skiing on the Platinum and switched to the Titanium? I have been on the Platinum for a couple of years and do like the ski. I turned 65 last year and lowered my boat speed from 34 to 32 mph. The larger "sweetspot" on the Titanium seems intriguing.

Must be a new design, or a spin off of the Ski Natique spaceship. Every 200 I have seen including mine has the gas tank in the rear. We have up to 5 200's on our lakes. The decision makers at Correct Craft have made nothing but bad mistakes and handed the market to Mastercraft.

I turned 65 last July and decided to go from 34 to 32 mph late in the season after a few good crashes. I am on a 67 KD Platinum which I really like. Knowing I would be slowing down to 32 shortly I was able to demo several bigger/wider skis at 32 mph thinking I would need them at this slower speed. There was no magic with the bigger skis, in fact I ran 35 off the dock my first time at 32 mph on my KD. This is the first season I have started the season at 32 mph and have never skied better this early. The only changes I made are changing my ZO setting from C2 to A2, and I start at 28 off vs. 22 off to avoid the 22 bump at the slower speed. You do feel more drag at the slower speed and tire out more quickly at the end of the set, but hoping this will pass as I ski more at this speed. The only other issue is the gate timing being LFF. I need to pull harder at the end of the pullout to keep glide speed up. I like many thought you have to change skis when you slow down, but found this to be not true.

I owned a 2004 Mastercraft X7 and was very happy with the cross-over on this boat. In those days Waterski magazine did their yearly boat reviews and it came out good. My X7 was used on a private lake and I thought the slalom wake at 22 off was better than the 196 and as the rope got shorter the wake was excellent to ski behind. The X7 normally came with a tower and ballast sack with pump, so wakeboarding was very decent for a cross-over boat. I sold it because that engine model was not easy to upgrade to ZO. X7's are a little hard to find...not many out there. For skiing the tower weight acted like a third person, so I usually only had driver and one extra passenger or ballast since at a private lake you don't have to have a observer. At one point in time there was 3 X-7's on our private lake.

One reason could be Ski West does have limits on the size of the boat, how much ballast you can use to enhance the wake for wake boarding, and we do not allow wake surfing. So Ski West is more oriented to skiers, vs the more popular wake boarding/surfing. We have had 3-4 new owners the last couple of years, so lots do sell. Fastguy was a little over the top, our dues are $330.00 per month, our last major special assessment was over 15 years ago when we re-dug the lakes, non skiing guest love to come up the enjoy the warm water, tube, paddle-board and play pickelball. Our family spends about 30 weekends a year at Ski West and it is a lot less expensive than a condo at Mammoth or Palm Springs, and only 90 minutes away from our home in Ventura County. Certainly anyone in California that has property on a public or private lake is concerned about water, water rights and the cost of water. Knock on wood, it has not been an issue in the Arvin area. We get our water from a well, and we are sitting over a pretty large aquifer. We also do not pump 4 months of the year since our only water loss is through evaporation. Most of the owners have been at Ski West for over 20 years....so it can't be that bad.

You probably looked at the two sites listed for sale at Ski West Village, located Southeast of Bakersfield. The lots at Ski West are not deeded and you cannot live at Ski West full time, it is pretty much a weekend escape for skiers and their families from all over the Southern California area. You own a share of the Ski West coop and there are restrictions to what you can build. Bako-Arvin is one of the greatest places to ski, however the weather and air quality suck from November to March.

My 2011 200 is rarely under 3/4 full. I usually throw 5 gallons in every 4-5 sets. Feel no difference even when it was below 1/2. Usually just driver and 150 lbs of ballast next to front seat

Like Jody only on Radar products for many years, last ski was 2018 Vapor Pro. Want to try the Senate Pro but could not get my hands on one. Tried the new Raptor and KD Element. Liked the KD a lot and bought it 2-3 weeks ago.

I have a 2011 5.7 with 2 pucks (promo boat), my ski buddy has a 2016 6.0. We drive and ski behind each others boat. We both weigh about 180 lbs and ski 34 mph and get into 35 off. If you had your eyes closed you could not tell the difference in the course, other than the engine noise. The biggest different is that my ski buddy has a son that skis at 36 mph and jumps. My 5.7 screams at 36 mph, so if I was driving a lot of 36 mph skiers (and jumpers) I would go with the 6.0. 95% of the time my 5.7 is going 34 mph or less and I have been super happy with this boat. I get many comments on how well it drives and skis. I t has plenty of hole shot and have never seen a need for the 6.0.

I can verify the article Horton referenced. My son-in-law is an ER Doctor at a Southland hospital, and they are reducing his hours and pay since they are not seeing as many patients since Covid-19. My wife started a small foundation with her friends to help feed the hospital workers (ER staff, ICU staff) during this trying times. We're still skiing at Ski West in Arvin, as are many of the private lakes in the area. We actually had 6 boats in rotation Saturday (we were blown off by a wind storm Sunday.) Owners are keeping the six foot distance for the most part. I only have a driver in my boat when I ski, and I wipe down the steering wheel, throttle. seat and any possible contact points.

I may have posted too soon. On the 17th I posted I had not released from the MOB system yet. Well that changed on my last set of the weekend yesterday. Double release and a slight sprain on my bad ankle. Don't know what happened, I think I was blinded by the bright orange Ball of Spray going by on the lake next door.

I fractured my ankle as well as suffered ligament damage in June of 2018 while skiing 35 off @ 34 mph. I was on double Vapor boots which I tended to make too tight. To this day I still don't know what happened. My ski buddies on the dock did not think the fall was that bad. I went to the MOB system using my Vapor boots to hopefully prevent another injury to my bad ankle. It took a little bit of adjustment only because the alignment of the double Vapor boots on the MOB system was slightly different then how I had them on the Radar sequence plate. I was having problems with my offside turn I did not normally have, but with a few fin adjustments I was able to solve that problem. The height issue was never a problem. I am back skiing again this season and I am about 4-5 balls behind my average. But that can be attributed to the fact that my left ankle area ( I am LFF) is still not as strong as it was pre-injury. As my ankle is getting stronger my skiing has improved and I am more comfortable with the boot alignment. I have not released yet, and hope not to test it, but I am very happy with the MOB system and it is nice to be back skiing again.

I did own a 1999 PRE2100WT. I bought it since we had owned a time share houseboat on Lake Powell. It was a decent boat for open water, it had the TAPS adjustable wake system. When we bought into Ski West Village found out pretty quickly not the right boat for a private lake, especially if you prefer slalom over wakeboarding. It is also wider than most inboards, so it is very tight between the guide buoys, and the wake with the TAPS is still pretty big for slalom.

I know there are several lots/homes for sale at Ski West in Arvin (Bakersfield.) Ski West is a weekend get away, in fact you cannot live full time on our property. Most of the owners live 1-2 hours away. A few have homes in Bakersfield area. Pretty hard to find rides midweek since nobody is around. Lots of construction work in the Valencia area which is about 50 minutes away.

Have you looked at liability insurance in gated vs. not gated? I would think you open up the HOA to a lot more liability in a non gated community. Are you going to have a lake patrol when it is open to all? What is going to stop ids from outside the community from making it their swim and party hole? I think 40' centerline is pretty narrow and you exposing the shorelines to big waves from wake boats.
