  1. The photo shows a perspective that is different that we feel when we ski. I once has a chance to ice skate a course, buoys were sticking through the ice - and the perspective was that course seemed very narrow and a long distance between the balls, just like the photo above - the following spring I remembered the ice skating perception and it made a big difference in my performance.
  2. It's a blast. when you first learn you'll go over relatively slow. It's a completely different sensation on the ramp. You'll be in good hands with your coach. Put the helmet on and you'll feel cool. Have run.
  3. Ski Caraibes is in a cove - brackish water - and shallow, but when I was there several years ago, it was a good time. It's pretty well protected, and the Island has some really good restaurants and cool beaches. Cancun as @desmonipoux says is another place. Scott would be the guy to hook up with and there a numerous options for staying, including all inclusive. St Martin - European Flair. Cancun - Wild and Crazy. Fun at both.
  4. My wife runs ho's venoms on Nano One and testing Nano XT - and following is what we did to fully cant. Front holes - (llf) (shifted to the right of the ski) Right screw goes in middle of 3 holes - left one get's big washer and goes on out side of the plate. Back holes - (shifted to the left of the ski) Had to drill hole to right of slot to align with the insert and the left screw goes in to normal slot. Made sure that it was fully secure and check screws every time we ski. We spoke to Dave at the nationals about this, but the XT was already out - he did offer to do special inserts next time we ordered the ski (I thought that was very nice).
  5. Thank you for all the feed back. We made modifications and a couple more sets. She made back to back 35s. Additional information: Venom rubber boots, LFF, and skis with back foot pressure - hence liking boot forward. Current setup Measure back of front boot from rubber right behind heel. 29. Using Jaws with dial calipers. Gave some tip and reduced DFT 6.730, .690, 10, 2.494. Will try moving boots back 1 more whole. (should be interesting). Thanks again
  6. Will do, Hopefully we'll get a couple of sets in today and I'll let you know. Thank you and we will measure everything.
  7. 65.25 As the ski came. 6.700 2.494 .705 wing 10 current.
  8. My wife got a new Nano XT for Christmas: LFF, stock fin setting, Boot at 29 1/8. She has had 4 sets on it 2 at stock wing 9.5 and 2 at 10. Her off side is amazing but the onside just doesn't turn (She will fall over or get a major hit). She runs into 38. She has been on a Nano One, and was hoping for a better onside with the XT. She has made a couple of 35s on the ski but not pretty. Looking for some holiday help. Thanks
  9. Run 36 for several sessions and then go back to 34, you'll have to do an ego check because you will definitely run less buoys. When you go back to 34 you will see that there is so much time.
  10. 1998 Malibu Response LX: both my wife and I run into 38 and we usually match our practice scores in tourn's
  11. FB and the like are tools for people to use. Used properly they are beneficial in opening the world. Just like a car doing stupid things with it will get you in trouble. I use facebook carefully.
  12. I am 155 also, and have an S2 and A1. I normally ski 34 however I practice quite often at 36 - just like the feel. The A1 tracks much better at 36. The S2 is a little harder to control, it rides higher in the water and turns are not as predictable. The S2 at 34 is great.
  13. I heard there were 2 different size struts on the 2011 MC - that holds the prop in position. The newer 11 has a larger strut which, from what I heard effects the wake pretty significantly. No first hand experience, just dock talk with someone that bought a good 2011.
  14. The function of the stepped bottom as I was told, and as Lieutenant Dan stated, was to break the surface of the water and result in more speed/acceleration. And in my brief experience with the ski, it does just that.
  15. Been on it for about 10 sets, first set ran up the line to 2 @ 38, then 3@38 - pb. 7th set ran 4 @ 38 - still dialing it in. Size 66.5 - I'm 160 lb. Ski is very predictable and quick from side to side. Very nice edge change for good position to the ball. I was on an HO A1 prior. Has a ribbed bottom, feels very stable.
