  1. @GOODESkier‌ makes you smile, doesn't it? Coolest memories on the water and it wasn't even you on the skis.
  2. The thread title made me wonder if this was for adults only.
  3. I took a couple sets with Matt this summer. I agree. Great coach. Would definitely ski with him again.
  4. I am about where you are at so take this or leave it. It seems like your head and shoulders are forward. You seem to run the pass hunched over. I'm wondering if you focus on getting your shoulders back (right shoulder going to 1,3,5, left shoulder going to 2.4.6) if that would help get into a better position. Matt Rini suggested this to me and it has helped me make progress.
  5. At -15 I always have used the back of the boat passing through the gates as my marker. That also seems to work OK at -22 but not at -28. Try it and adjust accordingly.
  6. Yep that's the one. Will be coming back home through Iowa so I'll keep my eyes peeled for those others. You can probably imagine at the end of a full day driving witht the kids in tow... I was salivating for a set when I saw it
  7. So we are doing the Clark Griswold family vacation. Made the all day trek from Chicagoland to Mt Rushmore today. Lots of small ponds/borrow pits along I-90. As I drove, I entertained myself with thoughts of "hmm, I wonder if a slalom course would fit on this one, etc. (Yea, its a long drive.) I passed a pit with the red and yellow buoys all lined up and practically shouted "A slalom course!" about as excited as the kids would be seeing Rushmore or Disney etc. and got the "That's great, dear" look from the wife. Couldn't believe that someone had the same thought as I did! It looks like a pit that was formally dug for 3 event about 10 minutes east of Rapid City maybe on someone's ranch. Not sure if it belongs to anyone on here but looked like a nice site.
  8. I like going to the ski shows...a lot. Usually try to hit one per summer. (I'd go more but that would cut in to my evening sets.) There are a handful of teams around southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. Wonder Lake, Twin Lakes, Janesville, Loves Park, Lauderdale Lakes, Mad City. Not sure what their membership trends are, but they are all fielding a team.
  9. @MattP Looks like your RTP was custom cut out of a larger piece of rubber. I have been looking to get a larger piece and cut it to size. However, Radar wants $60 on their website!?!?. (Whole new setup is only $70.) Saw no listing for just the strap on Wiley's website. Any ideas where I can get a strap without getting taken to the bank?
  10. @DefectiveDave‌ you can also use some washers as spacers between the bottom plate and the rubber to "heighten" the rubber from the bottom plate. This might allow you to get your foot in further.
  11. I have been a RTP user my whole life. Used to have issues slipping out of the standard RTP on my Senate. I got some of this and haven't had any issues since then. They used to put it on old school skis but haven't seen it used much on new skis. Mapple referred to it on one of his videos as well. http://www.homedepot.com/p/3M-Safety-Walk-2-in-x-15-ft-Step-and-Ladder-Tread-Tape-7635NA/100132176
  12. @Edbrazil‌ I have a pair of Western Wood skis that I "inherited" last summer. Had been meaning to ask anyone if they knew anything about the company. I was not familiar with the brand.
  13. Those are some beautiful shots. Nice videography. Something like this could really sell the sport if used in the right place. Even though I already ski, seeing this would make me want to ski if I didn't. Might have to replace the guys with some younger 20 something girls. (No offense guys.)
  14. @Jordan great idea on the hockey pucks. How did you attach them? Velcro?
  15. @Horton can you create a "historical" folder under the video tab for stuff like this? I see you have the 1930's Crystal lake video in one of the tabs. However, it would be cool to have old historical stuff like the Horton Lake video, the Tony Klarich stuff, the Wade Cox video, old ski-gear and boat commercials, etc. collected in one place rather than scattered in the forum.
  16. @MISkier‌ That is awesome. Thanks. I think it is interesting that they were listing how long the rope was rather than how long it was not. I had to do math! No 55's either. Lucky has the most perfect slalom "posture" of anyone I've seen. Was that his dad CW that they showed a few times?
  17. All you guys with the VHS archives...would be cool to see some of those again.
  18. Skiing+kids=open bow
  19. @Chef23 It always feels good to shorten the line for the first time to the next loop but that day had to feel especially good.....run the -35 and shorten up to -38.
  20. @XR6Hurricane I am also in your general area and am curious. Which lake?

    New to me boat

Can't go wrong with the Malibu. Those Responses ski really really well.
  22. @klundell for us mortals going OTF is the only way to go. Best entertainment value. A good OTF yard sale is at least as entertaining as watching someone run -35.
  23. Guys, could someone give a little bit of insight regarding putting a new engine in a boat? I have a friend with an '04 LXi. He maintains the boat pretty well. It has no speed control and it has a little over 1000 hours on it. He wants to upgrade to ZO so he is thinking about buying a TXi club boat. However, he is not made of money so I suggested he either install Perfect Pass (and just live with the slight differences between PP and ZO) or he just repower the boat with a new engine and ZO. I would have to think that even repowering the boat would be cheaper than buying a new-ish boat since his tug is still in really good condition. So, aside from finding a qualified person to install it can you just order a new engine directly from Indmar? Are there issues with retrofitting the new engine into the older model? Are there avenues for selling the older engine? What is the approximate cost to repower a boat with ZO?
  24. @lpskier. A whole winters worth of Lucky quotes. That is priceless.
