  1. @ALPJr is there any speed control on the boat? Thanks.
  2. Arturo Nelson at Aqa Sports in Miami is a great guy and an even better skier. http://www.aqasports.com/
  3. Will do Kevin. Wish you and Jessie luck in your search.
  4. Many of the things you are looking for are in the print edition. Subscribe. It's crazy cheap.
  5. Anyone know anything about this boat year and model? Does it ski well? Wood stringers? Seems like it would be a good combination of good slalom wakes plus room for the family. Oh yeah, and the price is good too. http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?topic=Search&category=Comp_Boat&postid=25175
  6. This could be all yours for only $12,500. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1990-MasterCraft-Prostar-190-/181213895002?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2a3130995a&item=181213895002&pt=Power_Motorboats
  7. @Kelvin I guess ... just sharing what someone who has a good grasp on the event's numbers told me.
  8. Everyone always wants to see Regina vs. the guys, right? http://goode.com/blog/company-general/ristorcelli-regina-to-face-off-in-bracket-challenge-final-round/
  9. I actually feel BAD for people who live in a place that they can only do one kind of skiing. I drive 60-ish minutes in the summer to water ski. Can hit 6 snow ski areas within that same time. Love them both.
  10. Tournament PB, practice PB (today!) and moved my average up +4 buoys. All while skiing probably 30 percent less than last year. Plan to remedy that in '14.
  11. The entry fees at the Eastern Regionals last year did not even cover the judges' food and lodging. Hard to make a tournament work financially when you are still in the hole when the biggest pop of revenue (entry fees) is already used up.
  12. @Chef23 A certain tournament organizer you and I both know told me back in August that regionals could be ran as a C.
  13. According to the pictures of the event shown at the Big Dawg banquet last month in West Palm, Baker was on a Goode.
  14. Expanding upon @ShaneH 's suggestion, USAWS could even promise to host X number of national level events at any sites developed under that program. Sorta the way the NFL promises Super Bowls for cities that build new stadiums. This could be a very big Economic Development play as hundreds of competitors need hundreds of hotel rooms, meals, etc. The first step would be to quantify the economic impact Okeeheelee has had for Palm Beach County. Not just when they host Nationals but from all the ski-related tourism that it generates. There are a number of firms that could do that.
  15. The difference with skis prior to the XT were real, but incremental. Now that the rocker is asymetrical, it will make a big difference.
  16. One of your new neighbors, Janet (Wurtz) Dillard is good people. Great skier too.
  17. Sometimes I think @Horton pays @Than_Bogan for every comment his threads earn.
  18. @Than_Bogan I want to see one of these this weekend at Wrightsville. That water is magic so I expect nothing less!
  19. Not sure if it is well known but Nautique screwed up the Sweet 16 scoring and announced that Don made it in. Had him up on the stage and everything during the Thursday night banquet. Then after the even was over they announced the mistake and the new pairings with Don edged out. He probably had a right to be pissed but sure didn't act like it. Instead he went out two days later and bagged a national title and the slalom swerve. Really nice guy and obviously a great skier. Congrats Don.
  20. The night time Big Dawgs finals is the best ski tournament I've ever seen. Period. Everyone is screaming and cheering the guys through the course, beers are flowing on the shore and some amazing skiing. For me the highlight of the night was when Dave Miller broke at the waist at 2@39 and somehow, scrapped for an extra three balls to get to 5. Some of the most impressive skiing I've ever seen. And he needed every single bit of it because Hintringer (I think it was him) came next and tied him with 5 and Dave advanced because he went first. Just goes to show you, never give up! Water skiing needs more night tournaments.
  21. Damn, you guys are really convincing me to switch ... but the season is so short here in Vermont I don't like to "waste" any time. Sounds like I should do it though. OK. I will.
