  1. Back on topic, sorry, this was certainly a horribly sad tragedy.

Howwver, it is just crazy, absurd the dollar amount that was awarded.

No way I'm in position to say what would be an appropriate dollar amount, but $200 million, or even Malibu's share of $140 million is stratospheres out of whack.

And, a system where the lawyers run off with at least 40% of that blows.

  2. @ski6jones To your point, my family rented two 79 foot houseboats some years ago on Lake Cumberland in Kentucky. Although, I had piloted a couple smaller houseboats before.

What a blast we had. Had my Malibu moored up to one of them, and pulled skiers much of the day.

To the credit of the rental outfit, they had you call in on radio if you wanted to dock, someone would come out and navigate it to the dock. We just putted around, and beached the boats in a couple different places during our 5 days out.

  3. I use a chest zip full 2mm wet suit by Xcel. They design these primarily for surfers. Had it for about 3 or 4 years now. They make their suits in intermediate sizes like medium short, medium, and medium tall that helps get a good snug fit. Very little water gets in. With their design, the front entry is pretty simple to get in and out, without help. The 2mm thickness keeps me warm for almost anything we get in south Alabama. It also has what they call a TDC liner they helps keep you warm, and helps a tight fitting suit slide on and off. When more than this 2mm wet suit is needed to stay warm, I take a much needed break from skiing.

Don't think they make this in full 2mm anymore, but they do have several suits in 3/2 that should be a tad warmer.

  4. @Kfrisbey I have a 2016 Txi. Your 2017 has the same set up, just a little different size.

You should never (or at least for a long, long time) need to change your filters.

You have a canister that sits inside you gas tank. See large flange mount on top of the tank. Inside the canister there are 2 fuel pumps. On the bottom, outside of the canister are two cloth/filter material 'feet' that gas flows through to enter the canister. The canister is spring loaded to press these feet against the bottom of the tank.

From inside the canister, the 2 pumps pull gas and supply to the engine.

So, the only way to change filters, if ever needed, is to pull this canister.

Also, there is no water separator. If you did have an issue with water in your gas, I suppose it might accumulate in the canister as it is a wide spot in the system.
