  1. Nate not only skied but judged many events all 3 days
  2. It was an unbelievable turnout , we were hoping for 200 people and I think we were in the 250 -300 range. Had 250 t shirts and they were all gone. Hats off to all our sponsors , volunteers , skiers , and supporters. It was an event like no other waterski event i have ever attended or been a part of including nationals. Thanks to @jaykooch for the great marketing as well. I am sure he will be posting things tomorrow . We had skiers from national champions to wakeboarders to a dad and daughter sking double. It was great to see the ski community come together . Thanks again to all who supported and gave money and time, an unbelievable amount was raised.
  3. @dhofert an update is that we sanctioned this as a x tournament meaning a usa day membership will be good to use . As of right now we are going to have the day memberships picked up by a sponsor. However feel free to join as @MISkier said as to keep the cost down and more proceeds go to the recipient.
  4. @dhofert not at this time , still working through those details
  5. Many sponsors have stepped up to make this happen, this is going to be a unique event inspired by Travis @theboardingschool with the BBB All costs associated with putting this on have been covered by the sponsors so all the funds/entry fees raised will go to the cause!
  6. @Srkin9 if you want to just come try it out for a couple of sets I would be able to accommodate you . My lake is just south of Hudsonville , just PM me to see if I am available that night or skiing that night. I can fill you in on all the clubs in person then as well . First time just bring premium gas and we are all good!
  7. @skierjp , i was referring to the 100 mile radius rule and the preference dates that some sites have already locked up @lpskier was referring to. After reading your post about having enough boats and officials to handle many tournaments why the 100 mile radius rule? In Michigan we have a scheduling meeting in the fall for our tournaments but there are no rules. Out of respect and courtesy to other sites we try not schedule the same day but it sometimes happens. Also we have gone to a round robin type scheduling where a different site gets first choice of a day each year. As a tournament director i sometimes dont get the date i want , its no big deal . Work together for the betterment of the sport. If someone wants to schedule a C and nobody shows that tournament will not be happening the following year it cannot sustain itself. I am not trying or attempting to understand Florida vs Michigan but there are some similarities , just asking questions if it was me that was a site owner in Florida instead of Michigan these are the questions i would ask or bring up.
  8. @lpskier , sounds like florida is the home of the good ol boys . If there is not enough officials to do a class c the same day as another tournament in that state ,then they should be developing more officials not restricting tournaments. How do they expect to grow the tournament scene if you have a family of 3 or 4 skiers dropping $6-800 on one tournament just in entry costs? Thats just insanity.
  9. @Horton this F1 season turned pretty crappy towards the end for Hamilton haters , did you pay up?
  10. @LoopSki about 4 hrs on the hr meter
  11. Sunday night at the state games after everyone was done and gone . We were just finishing paperwork up, it was said that not only was it a good tournament but it was enjoyable/fun to work at and ski and just hang out with everyone from g2 to m8. Everyone had a great time, and the college kids are really good skiers. One of the trick judges said to me while in the boat , I used to win mens 1 5 yrs ago with 500 points now it would not even make the top 5. Lots of energy and great to be a part of.
  12. Finally the nicest night of the year so far
  13. @dhofert ,@Akb2914 there is a tournament tonight at our place , come and connect with others . PM me for details
  14. If you judge ,drive , or ski enough tournaments you will be the giver or reciever at least once. And with ZBS now it could be the scorer as well. Just remember if you are the reciever it wasn't intentional...
  15. @GWaterski miss having you here, but can't fault the move to ski year round
  16. @wtrskior i have skied both lake michigan and lake huron in the same trick set, funny we were the only prostar skiing under the mackinaw bridge at the time. however these great lakes do look much better to ski, plus no freighters to throw 4' rollers...
  17. I have skied 3 of the 5 Great Lakes.......
  18. I had a nice chuckle for the 5 sec. penalty Hamilton got for the block. "hey um Bottas ah this is nikki lauda um you need to let Hamilton by ah is that ok? Bottas: I thought we were equals..... Nikki: no you misunderstood let him by..."
  19. The big question is when is it going to be approved? Why bother practicing with it if it's not available in a tournament.
  20. @rico I'm the committee.....
  21. so @Triplett if i am reading between the lines it will be a go at all your c events and all of my c events . That means at least the majority of the events in Michigan will be ZBS. Will I ski 36? depends on what the current bet with my son is for the day.......and if the wager is worth it.
  22. cooper on the left Ike on the right first boat ride of the year, seconds before cooper bails at 3 ball both english springer spaniels
  23. apparently relearning how to ski @ 36mph again.............
  24. @klindy This is not even close to an "equivalent" C score. To say that this would be equal is ridicuolus. No scorer , No unbiased judge , No unbiased driver, No witnesses , heck Dr. Michaels would have run -43 everyday. You would have to come up with another designation and weighting of the ratings
  25. @rico usaws charges $150.00 and the region charges $75.00. per sanction. Why? thats a good question.
