  1. Fogman's...after destroying my ankle last year I purchased the Fogman system and it is awesome. You can adjust the release tension and I have had no release issues. I ski with 5 guys and we are all on them!

    Z-BOX revisited

Have you guys seen the times go from +3 to -5 in on gate? That is making up .08 in on bouy. Yea they are in tolerance but you can't ski that! We've tried everything as far as settings go to eliminate it.

    Z-BOX revisited

A guy I ski with has a 98 Nautique and has the exact same issue. I skied it one time and had to take a week off so my back could recover! The stargazer does the same thing.
  4. anyone have a review? I'm looking for a front zip vest. Eagle is 6 weeks out and my current vest pools water and weighs a ton. Thanks
  5. @wish. I don't blame you on the manifold situation. Is there anyone you ski with that has a similar year nautique? If so see if you can borrow their raw pump (one with impeller). It takes about 5 minutes to swap. It is a more common problem and you will know instantly. Our Nautique never gets over 155 since rebuilt it.
  6. @skimech @wish. Any luck guys?
  7. @wish. It is the seal in the housing that holds the impeller. It is a common issue.
  8. @wish I replaced the impeller and thermostat and had the same problem still. I started inspecting the raw pump (housing with pulley that drives the impeller) and saw bearing pieces in the slots. This is somewhat common when the seal goes. There was also some occasional water drips from the housing. Do be sure to check all the lines first! My local dealer had the 2 bearings and seal in stock which was a nice savings over buying a new pump. If you have other questions feel free to email me at nestein@burnsandburns.com for a faster response.
  9. @skimech. I just went through this yesterday. The seal in the raw water pump was bad causing 2 problems. 1 the water seeping caused the bearings to go bad and 2 the seal being bad allowed the the pump to suck air. I had gone as far as to completely remove the thermostat with no help. After rebuilding the pump it runs 155 all the time. Btw it was a 97 Nautique.
  10. @gyoung I would recommend skiing with a more advanced skier to determine if the ski is causing the bad body position. For example if it is overturning causing you to break and squat the fin could need adjustment, if your hips are never up then you need to keep working on position. It's really hard to say without seeing a few sets.
  11. @shaneH is exactly correct. <5 degrees actually creates tail lift.
  12. When I was skiing 36 back in the day I ran 2.65 all of the time. Fin settings are 100% skier specific. Remember factory settings are a starting point only. Nate
  13. We started March 11. It was the earliest I've skied up north. Our water was up to 67 2 weeks ago. Yesterday I took a set air was 44 and water is down to 53.
  14. If you are looking for a place to move and can be an hour or so north check out Lake Latonka. Just off of I-79. Shoot me an email if you have questions. Nate Stein Nate93@msn.com
  15. Got on the lake here in Erie, PA yesterday. Water was 40 air was 55. Great fun!
  16. Thanks! I hope to get down there in a few weeks. Just have to arrange some work stuff. It's been a long winter!
  17. Thanks guys! Hope I can manage to make it down. It almost sounds too good to be true.
  18. does anyone have details on the cost to ski at the park? I was thinking of a road trip and didn't know the details. Thanks, Nate
  19. I didn't have mine very tight but obviously too tight as my foot came half way out. My post wasn't ment to bash the Strada boot but to highly recommend the Fogman system. I personally like the control the hard shell creates and as I said before it got me on the water much faster due to the added support.
  20. I was on the radar strada bindings and trashed my ankle this year. I got a set of fogmans and they are fantastic. The support, ski control and comfort is unreal not to mention they keep your feet warm in cold water. I believe those bindings got me back on the water months before any other would have.
