  1. Mastercraft asking price at Indy Boat show is 88k, I understand that is an asking price and inflated to give buyers the perception that they are getting a good deal but 88k is a long way from mid 50's. I just have to laugh when I see these prices, unreliable.
  2. The boat @MISkier referred on SIA is located in Texas at Buxton Marine. Brandon Cruse with Central Kentucky Inboards is representing the boat. Brandon is really connected nation wide and is a good reference in buying or selling a boat. If you are serious about a boat it would be worth your time to give him a call. He sold a former boat of mine, the transaction was to a buyer in Australia and was flawless. Almost bought that boat a week or two ago but will save my pennies and ski my 97 SN one more year
  3. Skiing with family and just generally being a lake rat. @GOODESkier I also have a 2 and 4 year old who ski on trainers. What a thrill watching them try and enjoy new things. It is great to share your love of the sport with kids!
  4. @Brewski Really cool to see the little guys in the big show. Congrats on a great achievement and thanks for sharing
  5. As a teacher I am very familiar with statements or by laws like this. Anti-bullying, harassment, hazing etc. is a big deal all over the country. As a teacher in my state i am legally responsible to report any such behaviors, i can be held legally responsible if i fail to do so. Who would have thought that an NFL player would accuse another of bullying? These statements and by laws protect the governing body and are a signs of the times.
  6. Here is what We use in Indiana's Hoosier Buoy Scoring to define levels of skiing and for scoring. This was proposed to be adopted and used state wide. We have found it to work well. Hoosier Buoy Tour Scoring Skier Divisions Grassroots- A grassroots skier is defined as a skier who has never completed a full pass at any speed in a class C Tournament. A skier will ski out of the grassroots division when they complete a full pass at any speed. Novice- A novice skier is defined as a skier who has completed a full pass in a tournament at any speed slower than their division’s maximum speed. A skier will ski out the novice division when they run a full pass in a class C tournament or higher at their maximum speed. Advanced- Advanced skiers are defined as skiers who have completed a pass at their maximum speed in a class C or higher tournament. Division Scoring Grassroots-A grassroots skier will receive a minimum of four passes for each tournament round. The highest score of the four passes will be used for score of the round. Scoring will be by buoy count: Green buoys will equal 1 point, Red Buoys will equal 2 points, and the entry and exit gate will each be 1 point. A skier must maintain the course sequence, if a skier misses a buoy (red or green) the pass will be scored from the last rounded buoy. A maximum score of 14 points will move the skier to the novice division where they will be scored with the AWSA buoy count chart. Novice- A novice skier may use a one mulligan on an unsuccessful opening pass. After the opening pass a skier will follow AWSA rules for a class C slalom tournament. Advanced- Advanced skiers will ski following AWSA rules for a class c
  7. My wife and I skiing with our two boys Luke 3 1/2 and Neil 1 1/2 at the time. Picture taken by my dad and my best ski buddy Dave J. driving. Glad my kids love the lake
  8. Interesting topic, I am a middle school physical education and health teacher. I love my job as I get to spend time helping teach youngsters to live active and healthy lifestyles. Also, I get lots of ski time in the summer and spend lots of time with my family. That begin said I would probably not advise my kids to go into my chosen profession. With the cost of college now days my bachelor and masters degree would cost way more than the earning potential in my chosen field. I like the idea of informing kids and parents about the average earnings for the chosen major. The days of just getting a degree and making money are over college may not be the best investment for some professions.
  9. @mattp good point! Still would have thought a stronger majority would have been members. I am not a stats guy but the survey was of ballers and not just average joes, would like to think that a stronger majority of skiers would be members and support the national govering body. Leads me to believe that skiers may only be joining out of requirement (tourney participation, club membership or private lake insurance etc.). Just a thought but why are 44% of survey takers not members?
  10. USA waterski should be alarmed that 44% of ballers are not members. Pretty significant in my opinion.
  11. I like that idea, especially for skiers not interested in competing for a national ranking but just for the enjoyment of skiing a tournament. Had a similar case at a tourney in which we were using handicapped scoring. A men's 5 skier elected to only ski 32 mph, this was done to limit potentional injury after a serious injury. We scored him as a 32mph skier for our purposes but his score turned into USA waterski was reflected as long line 32mph. In my opinion since he elected to ski a speed lower than his division he really has no place in 99% of all sanctioned tournaments. Why would he ski? For the fun maybe but he can do that at home (lives at one of the nicest sites in the world with many very accomplished skiers). Grassroots may be but he is not a grassroots skier. Just an example of how loosening the rules a bit may result in more tournament participation.
  12. This summer my skiing has been less and not as good but it has been the most fun summer I have ever had on the water. Both my boys age 1.5 and 3.5 love the boat and the water. We have been taking them to the lake since they were infants. Picture attached is of our whole family skiing this summer. My oldest just skied on his combo trainers for the first time this weekend. Chasing buoys is fun but time on the lake with my family is way better. Also, love the EZ Ski we have introduced tons of kids to skiing with it.
  13. Beaver Creek always has one not far from the marina. I have always heard Grider Hill (sp?) had one or two as well but I have never been to it. Have fun it is a great place
  14. What is the true price difference for like equipped TXi and a 200? Is the TXi really that much cheaper?
  15. I have two ez skis and they are great for little kids. My 3.5 yr old loves it but he is out growing it fast. I looked for a used one for a while with no luck. I highly recommend them for getting your kid out behind the boat.
  16. I use Lucas speed wax to wipe the boat down after use. Helps keep water spots off.
  17. Home site or not 41 is still 41! 3 in a row is amazing throw in the other 2 for five in a row, now that is just crazy. I would be surprised if he did not set a new record soon.
  18. The 89 SN has the 2001 hull. These boats are highly regarded by the wakeboarders for there wakes.
  19. I sold an original 89 4 years ago for 9.5k then the guy paid another 9k to ship it to AUS. The wakeboarders like these hulls (my body hurts tinkling about it) I really don't think 11-13k would be a stretch if the boat was cherry. You can't negotiate up!
  20. If you look hard you could find a Malibu Response LX with ZO for around 30k. My ski buddy sold a 2010 last fall for just under 30k. Good value and an open bow
  21. There was a boat for sale in Wisconsin a few years back, a friend of a friend was interested. My opinion was sought on this with a little research found out that it was Dr. Jim's boat. Long story short the deal fell through based on his history. In this day and age there are no secrets and I am sure that this is only a small example of how this decision has effected his life. If there is a way people will try to cheat, just look at pro sports and PED.
  22. Sign her up for the Hoosier Buoy Tour! Great to see congrats
