  1. These guys are first class. I want to share something with you. Last year at the Nautique Big Dawg Finals in West Palm After receiving his protion of the $12,000 purse, he turned to Kristi Overton Johnson, and said, very quietly, here Kristi, the kids need this more that I do. No one knew about this, Kristi told me several days later. July 1Flag Jerry Goodson was skiing against Kris and fell near where we were sitting. Jerry walked out of the water and tossed his Big Dawg ski bib to a 12 yr old spectator. It was a great moment. This was that kid's first time to ever see a ski tournament. I bet he sleeps in that bib tonight.

  7. This weekend you might see 41 go down. At Nautique Big Dawg Cypress Lakes TX
  8. A record very well might go down in TX. The field is loaded. I'd bet 41 is going down.
  9. Do I smell a Dawg Fight? Young pup Pros against Old Big Dawgs? Could be a Dawg gone show down brewing.
  10. First Big Dawg, ( 2004 ) in Ohio no seeding, running order was established from random draw. Then we changed seeding procedure to USA Water ski buoy count. ( problem is when international skiers partisipated, they had no USA Water Ski buoy count ) Then went to IWWF ranking system for seeding, Problem there was time lag in published ranking list. Then we went to a spreadsheet system taking all qualifiers into consideration. There were some big problems with that sytem. Latest change, seeding for TX and Canada, based on score from 2011 BD Finals. The Finals 2012 at Okeeheelee, will be seeded by 2012 Official Qualifer scores. Always seems like no matter what procedure we use there is some kind of problem. In any case, TX is going to be very, very, very competitive. Only aoubt 20 skiers from TX will qualify for finals: The sweet 16 and ( places 17.18.19 and 20 ) will get invitation to Finals in West Palm Beach. This is unofficial, and only a calculated guess.
  11. How tall is Regina? Dog gone it, There goes another excuse I can't use
  12. How neat, all positive posts. Yep we are all junkies.
  13. Woo, that sounds good. thank you. I will follow up.
  14. Need slalom ski for female beginner. 140 lb. 26 mph She has been skiing on slalom from a combo set. I'm thinking 66 inch, soft as possible, an entry level slalom ski that is one step above a slalom from a combo. Used ski, as she is very good athletic, full of desire, and will progress rapidly, ( Mid summer, will purchase new a intermediate slalom ski. ) I just don't have anything around that would work. We checked on ski-it-again, but seems like, mostly high end used slaloms. Any suggestions? thanks Greg Davis
  15. been messing with floating courses for years. Finally decided ( about 15 years ago ) to put permantly anchored course in. You can do easy with max depth of 14 ft. All materials, and pay to have it surveyed. while you are installing. ($2,000) including paying surveyer, Maybe less. I mean, all new boat guides, buoys, sub buoys, clips bungie, anchors, everything. end of problem. you have an record capable course, low maintance ( less than $2,000 ) . THE ONLY WAY TO GO. be glad to suppy you with material list, etc. what part of country are you in. Can provide you with several guys that would survey it.
  16. Chris, has been running 39 for years, in good conditions, it's when conditions get challenging that he has struggled. CP has been skiing with the Man ( Andy ), CP has always had the ability, the natural talent and good technique. He now has someone who is helping him with his equipment, his mental toughness, teaching him, and giving him the confidence, to overcome adversity and ski in less than ideal conditions. best of luck tomorrow, and the balance of the season.
  17. What I've noticed over the years watching these Big Dawgs, ( not all of them ) but a few, Dave Miller, Marc Shaw, Greg Badal, Matt Brown, Jay Leach, ( last year for Jay), Bruce Dodd, They absolutely crank the ski at the buoy, establish soooo much angle, then wait a split second, and bamn, the hit comes and they shoot accross the wake. The angle they take at the buoy is incredible, but they wait until the rope gets tight and wait almost until their ski hits the white water, and HOLD ON BABY. Some of the taller guys, Larson, Tynan, Favera, seem smoother, and don't seem to take as much angle at the buoy. GETTIN IT DONE DIFFERENT WAYS.
  18. eliminating the spray on an older MC ( 91 to 94 ) is no problem at all. Not 100% sure, but I think problem could be solved on 95 and up MC's as well. In the mid 80's MC pro tour boats, were awesome, Rob Shirley, just put a little more hook on the back of the hull, ( which pushed the bow down ), and bingo, no spray, up to, and including 39. You can add some hook, with Gelgoat. really not that big of a deal.
