  1. OK, this is an idea I had. At the Nautique Big Dawg in Mississippi. June. 29/30. Old Big Dawg, against Young Pup? Nate would spot KLP 6 1/2 buoys. KLP at 34 mph, Nate at 36 MPH. All proceeds would go to; IN HIS WAKES. KLP's best score from Sat. Qualifying. ( 2 rounds ) Nate could get two shots at beating it by 6.5 buoys. any ties, we would flip a coin.

Now, I just have to come up with a way to generate $$$ Any ideas for raising some $$ for IN HIS WAKES??

This is just a thought I had, would have to get approved by Nautqiue Corporate, Nate and Kris would have to agree to it. and The Host site would have to as well.

Another thought is to have Regina again Big Dawg Field. Heads up at 34 mph.

  2. It's fairly easy to figure out from a dollar and cents stand point.

    1. Initial purchase price. If new to new, aprox. $54K to $39 K i.e. $15K diff

    2. One year old, Pro Mo to Pro Mo 47K to 30 K $17K diff

    3. How long are you going to keep boat?

    4. How many hours will you put on per year?

    5. In the long run, believe it or not, the cost will be close to the same.

    6. Nautique you have the enjoyment of owning and skiing behind the best tournament ski boat in the world.

    7. Nautique anyone can give you a good pull

    8. Nautique When it is time to sell, you will have a much bigger potential buyer base, and boat will sell for right price.

    9. Nautique Closed Bow, passenger seat, can sit two big adults three med. to small adults.

    10. I know a guy who has been trying to sell his CP for 18 months. Just can't find a buyer, he keeps dropping the price, but still can't sell it.

    11. I've heard, that the CP has a Coast Guard approved passenger capacity of 3 people. ( not 100% sure this is true, but if it is. Good Luck selling the CP

    12. CP the boat is great to ski behind at all speeds.

    13. You kind of Pay Now, or Pay later. with the Nautique you will have a greater initial investment, however, terrific resale, and most importantly, enjoyment of skiing behind and driving a Nautique 200.

  3. Number One Objective: Safety two: Make it simple, less complicated to host a record tournament. Three: Same for all competitors. Number ONe is enough. I agree and support below 100% Greg Davis

The most dangerous part of the slalom course is the 27 meters from 6 ball to the exit gates. In the course we have 41 meters for a skier to score a whole buoy. At the exit gates we only have 27meters. This means skiers, in order to score a whole buoy, need to try to turn the buoy and often times hold on to huge amounts of slack rope, thus endangering the boat passengers and the skier him/herself. This happened to Andy Mapple at my tournament on February 13th. Andy said "If I would have let go of that handle, it would have gone through the boat." Andy strained his back on that day and didn't ski as well the next day

Simply pull the right hand gate ball back towards the 55m buoys by 14 meters. This buoy would be called the 14 meter buoy. This gives you an empty spot where that buoy used to be, but gives the skier a huge gate to now go through. This also requires the skier to start on the left side of the boat

    as they do now.

This also solves the issue of the more dangerous 27 meter segment where skiers have to exit the slalom course. It makes that segment 41 meters like it is between one ball and two ball boat guide buoys and two ball to three ball boat guide buoys etc. etc.

One could adjust a slalom course to these new dimensions in about 20 minutes. You simply unhook the right gate hand buoy and put in a new anchor, line and buoy and place it 14 meters closer to the 55m buoys. Another way of saying this is to pull the right entrance gate buoy (the new 14 meter buoy) towards the direction from which the skier is starting.

  4. A great place for covers is SkiBoatCover.com 810-623-6798 or 800-345-3670 I have had 4 new 200's and Mike has made covers for all of them. I couldn't be happier. Waterline, sumbrella. Love the fit, the quality, the service and the price is fair. He made covers for all my Nautiques from 1996 to present ( holly cow 18 years ). Call ask for Mike.
  5. Never experienced any retailer quite like performance ski and surf. Bill, Danny and staff are knowledgeable, honest, willing to help in any situation, answer questions, even it they don't sell you anything. Very positive attitude, It's so refreshing to run across a retailer like Performance. I would highly recommend performance ski and surf to everyone. Hats off to Performance, I'm heading down to their new facility in the next few days to check it out. Thanks for all your help through the years. Greg Davis
  6. Usually, the first time a guest, it's on us, glad to give someone a pull. If people come and ski more frequently, I like gas, rather than $$. We keep boat in boat house, therefore I transport gas. ( kind of a pain in the butt ), gas is way better than $$ for me. It's also nice when people are apprecitive and help wipe boat down etc.
  7. The popularity and positive acceptance of Nautique Sr. Tour, ( that was added to the Nautique Big Dawg World

Tour), seems to have attracted additional skiers who, most likely, would not have entered the Big Dawg. ( which was the objective), To answer your question, yes, the plan ( tentative) is to have three US Qualifiers in 2014. However, because we have Finals in conjunction with the Nationals, ( early Aug. ) it makes it difficult to schedule three qualifiers, not wanting to step on any State or Regional Tournaments. When finals were end of September, we had more time for a third qualifier. We'll make it work, it's a good problem to have, and solve. Hopefully, we can have a West Coast Qualifier in 2014. How about Florida, Mississippi, and West Coast?
