There is a story behind this thing. A father let his kids order the colors they wanted, and they put together the color package on the comuter.

check this out.

that lake on above link (vrbo) has record capability slalom course on it. I helped put in. It's about 20 feet deep as I dove and set anchors. Don't know anything about house, but lake is nice

We've done it for several years, ( at the Big Dawg Finals), just on small scale. I think it would be terrific, if betting was done on internet. It would be even better if a % of the proceeds would go to Charity. MAYBE THE CHARITY OF THE WINNERS CHOICE. ( THE SKIER ), It's lots of fun and it engages people. Happy Thanksgiving to all, We do have lots to be thankful for.

"I think he will dominate the Big Dawg series when he is qualified to ski it if he chooses. " someone posted this,
You have got to be kidding, DOMINATE THE BIG DAWG? The big Dawg is a whole different situation. Jeff will be competitive, and we wish him the very best, however, there are 20 other guys, that can spank 39. If you look at the depth of the Big Dawg Skiers, they are the best in the World, and make no mistake about it, eveyone one of them is as competitive as they get.
I spoke with Jeff Yesterday, he is awesome, great skier, good guy, humble, etc. When, and if, Jeff decides to compete in the Nautique Big Dawg World Tour, it will for sure add excitment, but, DOMINATE, I don't think so.

Congrats Jeff, WOW! Very exciting.

I drove and officiated at several Buckeye Buoy tournaments the past Month. Greg Kuenning has done a fantastic job, Greg is to be commended for all his hard work and making it happen. It's easy to talk about changes, complain, they should this, someone should do that. But, take charge, and make it happen, that's what Greg has done. Thank you Greg for all your hard work, and sticking to it. Incidently, the buckeye buoy tour events, we partisipated in was the most fun I've had at a tournament for a long time. Other state waterski organizations should look at copying what Greg has done.

The girls are models for swim suits, the women looking up at them are buyers for swim suits.

I'm trying to help these guys, and share the experience I've gained over the past 30 years, traveling to different sites, and installing permanently anchored courses.
POSITIVE THINGS:
1. ACCURATE COURSE ( guaranteed to improve everyone's Performance)
2. easier to keep turn balls low for safety
3. way, less maintenance, less work messing around with course all the time.
4. simplicity
5. less expense in long run, i.e. replacing pvc arms etc.
6. DID I MENTION ACCURATE!
Any negatives can be easily overcome with a system. like locating the sub buoys and anchors in spring.
If cost / expense is a concern, that can be addressed. ( I would be willing to pay for entire project )
If, after one year using the new course people are happy and satisfied, they can chip in and reimburse me.
If not happy, put arms back on, and no one owes me a thing. ( Here is your TEST )
I am that confident that it will work and everyone will be very, very happy.
this is for 10 permanently anchored buoys, turn balls and gates.
They would use the existing center line cable for boat gates.
THE SURVEY COST WOULD BE $350
Material cost, excluding T's $355
Total cost ( excluding T's ) $705
Cons: One of the members listed possible cons below:
When water level changes buoys will require adjustment before skiing
WATER LEVEL CAN FLUCTUATE 8 TO 12 INCHES OR MORE, BEFORE ADJUSTMENT IS NECESSARY. VERY EASY TO ADJUST, TAKES LESS THAN 10 MINUTES TO ADJUST 10 BUOYS.
If anchor maintenance is required or anchor is moved by debris, water flow, or fishermen, repair requires a diver and new survey crew. No skiing until repaired
BEING THAT THE ANCHORS ARE IN 10 FEET OF WATER, AND THERE WOULD BE A BREAKAWAY SYSTEM. IT IS VERY, VERY UNLIKELY AN ANCHOR WOULD MOVE. WATER FLOW, OR DEBRIS WOULD NOT MOVE ANCHOR. IN ADDITION, THE ANCHORS WOULD BE RE- BARED INTO BOTTOM, THUS MAKING THEM VERY DIFFICULT TO MOVE. IF BY CHANCE AN ANCHOR WOULD GET MOVED, NO SURVEY NEEDED, THERE IS AN MANUAL WAY TO MEASURE PLACEMENT FROM THE SURFACE. AN ANCHOR COULD BE MOVED BACK TO ORIGINAL LOCATION FAIRLY EASY, WITHOUT SURVEYOR.
City of Columbus does not allow permanent fixtures using metal in the water system, this would have to be completed outside of City permission
ANCHORS WOULD NOT BE PERMANENT, JUST LIKE THE ANCHOR AT THE NORTH END OF SLALOM COURSE THAT HOLDS THE CENTER LINE IN PLACE.
If center line of boat guides is off the accuracy of the course is off
THE ACCURACY OF THE COURSE WOULD STILL BE SPOT ON, THE BOAT GATES COULD BE OFF IF A VERY, VERY SEVERE CROSS WIND. HOWEVER IF THE WIND IS THAT STRONG, IT WOULD BE USELESS TO TRY TO SKI ANYHOW.
Loss of the mini course that beginners are using today
EASY TO PUT MINI COURSE IN, JUST DROP SIX CEMENT BLOCKS WITH BUOYS ON FOR MINI COURSE
Someone has to swim each spring (or anytime a gate or turn ball come off) to install the course
CORRECT
Location of the turn balls and gates may be challenging to find
LOCATION OF SUB BUOYS IS VERY EASY TO FIND. AS LONG AS THERE IS ONLY ONE OR TWO BUOYS OUT.
If you guys want to do this, let me know. if not, thanks for the time, it has been nice meeting Randy and Mike. As we all share the same passion of slalom skiing.
I would ask that we make a decision by Wed. night. That way, I can order material Thur. they can ship material Friday, so I could receive by Wed of next week, which would give me a few days to string sub buoys and make anchors. If it is a go, we need to let Lex ( the surveyor ) know, so he can plan accordingly. shoot for Sept 22 nd. if a go.

Maybe let slalom skiers choose their boat. i.e. ( like trick skiers can choose which boat they want to ski behind). That will put pressure on the manufacturers to be more competive, and build, a better boat, with ( smaller wakes ) for Kids and female and male skiers, who ski slower speeds. If a promo guy shows up at a tournament, and the promo person is a good guy, who helps the sport, works, at events etc.etc. As a tournament organizer, you feel obligated to use his boat. ( even if we all know the wakes are much bigger at the slower speeds) It's important to keep the fun factor for kids, keep kids encouraged, keep male and female skiers, who ski at slower speeds, enthused, excited and interested in the sport. Whatever we have to do to accomplish that, should be considered. I experienced a situation at a local tournament several weeks ago. A skier, who skies at 28 and 30 mph, didn't make a pass on their opening pass. I heard this skier say, " that's it, this is my last tournament, why should I pay $50 entry, drive 3 hours to come to this event, and be forced to ski behind a boat with hugh wakes at the slower speeds" This skier will continue to ski at home and for fun, but as far as tournaments, I doubt we'll ever see them again.
Also, kids, get discouraged easily, at the slower speeds, the kids struggle with the bigger wakes.

It's a show, the crowd doesn't care if it's 34 or 35, they don't need to know. What's the difference? If all skiers go 35, Horton is right, the Pros are going spank the BD guys. However if the BD guys go 34, and the pros go 35, well the pros are still going to kill them, but not as bad maybe.
-
Not bad for an old guy. Congratulations Greg, that is fantastic.
-
Tried water filled, they are OK, Have had wally buoys on for 8 months in Fl. sun, no fading, LOVE THEM. Safe, no fade, correct size, etc.
-
WHY NOT LET THE BIG DAWG GUYS SKI AT 34 MPH. That would even the playing field a bit, between the young pups and the BIG DAWGS.
-
Talked with Mike Morgan at 5 pm today. Skiers, and ski enthusiasts are in for a treat. Stay tuned.

We'll waive the fine for Jerry.

Jerry will get a $20 fine for showing up at the Nautique Big Dawg Finals without his skier Bib. All fine proceeds, go to Kristi Overton Johnsons, "IN HIS WAKES."
