  1. @6balls Looks like a wake boat platform. You can certainly buy one through your local dealer! I believe we began cutting chamfers on the rear corners there around mid 2010s so that it didn't cut into the surf wave.
  2. @itsallyellow Might seem a bit strange at first, but you'll learn to love the taste of 'em!
  3. The buckles are much stiffer than the plastic ladders and will thus stiffen the rear boot (likely significantly) as a result. Not sure this is ideal for a rear boot application.
  4. @Horton That men's slalom record has stood for 20 years! Would love to see it go down tomorrow. Men's Jump will be pulled by MasterCraft ProStars (6.0L with 3 blade OJ props) and with guys like Chris Wharton, Chris Eller, and Trent Finlayson behind the wheel at the site where 4 of the last 5 Collegiate Jump Records have gone done we should be in for a treat...
  5. @Horton Who is this Ron Burns fellow?
  6. @Horton When UCF won its first title at Lake Walmead in 1991? I believe Swanson was the last skier off the dock and had to beat a big score put out by J.D. Wiswall. I have the recap article handy from the Water Skier if you want to relive the Indians leaving GA in defeat.
  7. @UCFskier Can you shed some more light on Swanson? Based on my digging looks like he set his first collegiate national record at 165’ then 177’ and 183’
  8. Current Members: Rhoni Barton-Bischoff (ROL) Jay Bennett Connie Bergmark Marcus Brown (CSC) Phil Chase Dave Clark Jeff Clark Scott Greenwood Gordon Hall Regina Jaquess (ULM) Kelvin Kelm Tom Murphy Robert Rhyne III Jimmy Siemers (ASU) Dr. Tom Strong Jeff Surdej Steve Tyler Libby Van Treese Ed Walker Carole Walker Zack Worden (ULM)
  9. Quick bump for this thread: Can any of you old stalwarts shed some light on Elmer Stailing, Dr. Bob King, or Bill Stevenson?
  10. @aupatking Funny - I texted Fred last night saying that it was time for another run of World Champion fin blocks @MAD11
  11. @skimtb Is correct, those are the mounting brackets for the 2021-current ProStar rear sears. You need the 2014-2020 rear seat mounting brackets.
  12. Will be there Saturday and Sunday for Finals.
  13. We have a PVC support (like the supports for the net on a ping pong table with two bungees that string across the bottom of the jump to keep geese from walking up the ramp. It just clips onto the holes in the side curtain.
  14. IWWF announced that Joel Poland's Overall World Record set at the 2023 Florida Cup – WWS Overall Final has been approved. https://iwwf.sport/joel-poland-new-world-overall-waterski-record/
  15. @ETskier Back in the ancient days the association had a physical location in Winter Haven, FL with an 18 person staff.
  16. @MISkier Is correct - puck for slalom, pylon for jump.
  17. @Dano When Malibu launched the new Response TXi for 2017 there was a stripped down version with analog gauges, ZO puck, and composite hatch doors and the "Malibu Open Edition" with touchscreen, combing pads, and billet glovebox lid and rear storage lids. Guess what - the stripped down boat didn't sell... Now the "Malibu Open Edition" is just the standard TXi. MasterCraft also produced the SportStar - a '95-'97 MasterCraft hull with only the essentials. Didn't sell...
  18. With no current live USAWS database for scorers the information on the entry form is helpful. If the scorer for the local event has your information on their local database from prior tournaments they can pull you in, but otherwise they need that information so that it can be input into the computer to later be populated into the final scorebook.
  19. @Daryn_Dean Encourage your neighbors to get their Assistant Judge rating so neighborhoods like yours can more easily run Class C tournaments
  20. @Cooper_Trelawney My mind goes to the 2002 Malibu Open at Bell Acqua
  21. @coach3 No hull changes for 2024
  22. Malibus in use for this event are 6.2L GDI. Currently approved towboats being produced for Model Year 2024 Malibu Response TXI: 5.3L with 1:1, 6.2L with 1:1 MasterCraft ProStar: 6.0L with 1.26:1, 6.2L 1.22:1 Ski Nautique: 6.2L: with 1.23:1 Nautique 200: 6.2L with 1.23:1
  23. @slow Does it have to be that way or are we not presenting our sport properly? Is football only watched by football players? Is formula one only watched by F1 drivers? Is horse racing only watched by jockeys?
  24. @BraceMaker Yes, but that's not realistic. With two seats in the boat and most of the skiers capable of running 39 or jumping 200+ congregated in a few geographic areas the potential reach is minuscule even with a significant amount of time investment.
