  1. Jon Franklin (responsible for the Café de Columbia x International Pro Water Ski Tour and Rolex x Masters partnerships) is now running the World Pro Ski Tour which utilizes head-to-head dual action snow ski racing. To understand what a good run is in alpine racing you have to be able to understand the technique and the "line" the skier is running as well as the time that the skier ran the course in. With a head-to-head format, joe blow can see that the guy in the red bib just beat the guy in the blue bib. With shorter and shorter attention spans this format also gives more immediate results with short "matches" with the winner advancing which increases the spectator appeal IMO. https://worldproskitour.com/
  2. @UWSkier Both the slalom and jump boats for the event are 6.2L.
  3. Wally buoys are the best as far as quality and color retention - hands down case closed. That being said, they are probably not the best option for a public lake application.
  4. @ETskier According to HO, Works 01 is similar to A2 design philosophy
  5. At the option of the LOC in Class C tournaments and below, skiers may choose to ski mini course buoys: Mini course buoys, preferably green in color, are to be placed by the LOC at approximately 8.5 meters from center-line of the slalom course. However, there is NO required measurement or specified tolerance. NOTE: The slalom course for the disabled is 6.4m from center-line.
  6. @richfoster the event almost ran till midnight... not sure more skiers is the answer.
  7. @Horton Yeah it appears to be a staggered release with an additional episode becoming free to listen every Tuesday. Have to pay for that instant gratification we all thrive on these days.
  8. @mike_mapple First two should be available free of charge tmw.
  9. I'll be there Thursday through the end.
  10. The Vapor hasn't had windows since calendar year 2015.
  11. A 1993 just transacted recently with 34 hours including Safe-T-Top and net.
  12. The issue with these "cutout bows" or step-overs (no walkthrough) is that there really isn't anywhere for the water to go when the bow fills up - totally different than say a 200 with a walkthrough.
  13. @swc5150 MasterCraft produced too many '88 Platinum ProStar (200 units) and '98 30th Anniversary (hundreds). Scarcity principle is nullified. 25th Limiteds have commanded a premium on the secondhand market.
  14. Anniversary boats tend to carry a premium, that being said it is hard to tell with the 50th as so few have transacted on the second hand market. In 20 years it will likely be worth substantially more than a regular 2018 ProStar, right now, probably not.
  15. A representative from Centroid (MasterCraft's supplier for electronic fuel senders) has suggested that the boat be filled completely (with the key off) in order to help calibrate the unit. Additionally using a consistent grade of fuel with consistent level of ethanol (or lack thereof) will result in a more accurate reading.
  16. Registration is still open! This is a great laid back tournament - prefect for kids to get their first tournament experience!
  17. @Jerry44 Correct, the 2021+ ProStar has a 30 gallon fuel tank compared to a 25 gallon tank in the 2014-2020.
  18. @jpwhit I believe the battery was moved to under the observer's seat in order to allow for a larger gas tank and require less battery wiring.
  19. @ScarletArrow Action will be hosting the fall tournament on October 7th - great timing for anyone looking to come to Central Florida to watch Worlds at Traver's October 8-15.
  20. @Drago This stipulation was likely added because many of the best skiers stopped making the trip to Melbourne after COVID due to the high costs associated with attending the event and the fact that valuable Elite points were no longer on the line which used to be needed to qualify for Masters. The field has been noticeably weak the past few years, especially when you consider that there are more events than just Men's Slalom. 🙃 https://iwwfed-ea.org/competition.php?cc=T-22AUS028&page=men_tricks_results
  21. @Cooper_Trelawney Based on live scores Llewellyn did not jump at MQS 1 or MQS 2.
  22. The fact that Nautique is not taking advantage of the chance to build suspense and interest in the event by utilizing instagram stories to follow the qualification process is perplexing. They could be doing reaction interviews as skiers qualify. @kc Nate won both 2022 Masters and California ProAm, TGas won Botaski, and the Moomba champion did not meet the cutoff score. This meant that only 2 skiers were qualified going into the MQS tournaments. With 2 skiers qualifying during MQS 1 at Drew's this meant that only 4 of the 8 spots were filled. Pigozzi would have qualified outright with 4@41 at MQS 2 hosted at Travers with a 5 way tie for second between Sedlmajer, Neveu, Travers, Descuns, and Ross. Based on the selection criteria posted online, any remaining spots for Masters would be filed utilizing results from MQS 2 at Jacks. I am not sure how they resolved the tie (I would assume a runoff) but there were posts on social media that Jon Travers and Adam Sedlmajer would be competing on Robin Lake.
