  1. Swervetracker is the other app. Have been using it for 3 years now. Fantastic tool. And also brutally honest!
  2. Watching at home. Kids loving it and @TWBC doing a fantastic job!!
  3. Glad they have surface area . . .?
  4. Whenever I feel like I need to learn something - is there another setting that will help the ski perform the way I want it to? For me, this year has been about learning how fin changes make the ski behave differently (that I can feel). I have been on some pretty cool settings and some not so great settings. When you can feel the difference in the behavior of the ski because of the changes, that is when it gets exciting. You will learn a lot from doing so. If you want to learn something, go ahead and change the settings and see how the changes feel to you. Might even land on something you like better. You may already have it but the Fin Whispering book is money - think a second edition is coming out too.
  5. Awesome memories of going to Milwaukee with the family for a weekend of watching the Pros. Such a great venue and always a lot of cool stuff happening while skiing was going on too.
  6. @Lieutenant Dan - yes I have watched and studied the Denali Gate quite a bit and listen to Spraymakers all the time. I’m piecing things together and it is getting better little by little. Had massive gains from the slower standup on the gate, it now I need to turn in better. Always something to work on. Another reason for the pull in after the odd buoys is due to the direction I am taking into the buoy (too direct and not taking the high line) - working on that this week. My 32’s have been more consistent so working on making them even better.
  7. I have an ‘01 SN 196 with the PTM edge mirror. Love it and wouldn’t go back to anything else.
  8. So here is a GiveGo session with @CParrish43 Thanks Chris - this is money. While I still have so much to work on - my set last night (even with my fin left alone @horton) was the smoothest all year - and I venture to say probably my cleanest 32’ off @34mph ever. @killer - this season has been a lot of learning on the gates. Still lots of improvements to be made. A shout out to @GiveGo for the awesome coaching I have received: Cole G, Freddy W, Trent F and Chris P. Their feedback has been spot on and ALL has contributed to improvements.
  9. @AdamCord - that is the best advice I have heard all year!
  10. Maybe @adamhcaldwell and @AdamCord have some ideas.
  11. Current fin settings are from the three on the C75 review. “Stock” settings are slightly different for the 2020 vs 2021 C75. I’d have to check my ski to be sure which year mine is. I am on the lighter end of the spectrum for the medium ski. Length: 6.708 DFT: 1.050 Depth: 2.550 Wing: 8.5
  12. @horton - would you describe it like a bobble right at apex and coming around the buoy? Maybe a reduction in length would help that.
  13. Turns out that ALL video’s now uploaded to YouTube are “shorts” - meaning anyone can take a clip of it - but there is a setting to turn it off (which I just did). @cent - were you able to view it? @Gloersen - it sure is a GT40/PP. for sure one of the best purchasers we have made, we love this boat. @horton - what do settings do you suggest I change to? What do you see in the pass that suggests a fin setting would help? Honestly asking - I am all ears and willing to try.
  14. @horton - no idea why it loaded as a short (whatever that is for YouTube). Don’t know how to fix it either - for now.
  15. So I am posting this as a means to show folks that even with less than perfect technique (I am FAR from it) you can still make a difficult (for me at least) pass. This is a 32’ off at 34mph, at the end of my set. Gate needs a lot of work, hips drop back during the wake crossings, my feet get out in front of me (putting me on the back of the ski), and I am skiing point to point vs taking the high line. While this is just a snapshot of my skiing - some days better and other days worse my main point here is that improvements can be made even when you feel like you are struggling. The good news: making a pass and looking like this means there is a lot of upside/potential. The bad: WOW there is a lot to work on.
  16. Ohhhhh man. What is the recommendation for size on that ski? Might have a daughter ready for that.
  17. A couple thoughts: where is the water breaking with respect to your front foot in the turn? (Specifically at the apex) Does the ski roll over from edge to edge easily? A couple of fin changes can help the scenario (it did for me on my ski) - from slow and forced turns to effortless turns and better acceleration.
  18. That ski that Marcus has in his hands is the latest and greatest technology that we just haven’t experienced yet. Can’t wait to get my hands on one. The rocker was pretty awesome and the bevels were nice and sharp. Though the tip looks a little like a chisel, it still must make some amazing turns!
  19. @rfa - I should add that I ski at 34mph and typically make 28 and sometimes 32 off, which means taking cracks at 35. I am really hoping I can make at least one 35@34 this year. If I can get some video I’ll do a before after comparison.
  20. @rfa - thanks!! That figure is not a typo - @adamhcaldwell posted on page 12 some additional numbers to play around with and I used that as my primary guide for determining my next move. What surprised me most was how smooth the ski felt, the balance (fore/aft - side to side was never an issue), and the cross course speed. Much faster even with a much deeper fin (than my previous setting) though I did move my DFT a bit too. I was skiing at less than 100% last night too and it felt amazing.
  21. The last couple weeks I have been struggling with my skiing. The workload to get width and speed across the wakes seemed really high. My offside turns ALWAYS ended with a hiccup and a giddy-up (think pull arms into the chest and slowly let out as the rope tightens, all this while the tip of the ski would wheelie up). A couple weeks ago at the Radar Nation Tour I rode a 2022 Radar Vapor, a very impressive ski (got my wife one) that creates crazy speed and turns like it is on a rail. Went back the next day to my C75 and it just felt like a dog! Something had to be wrong - so I took out some of the wing angle and that helped for a pass or two, but still didn’t feel setup like I wanted, and went back to a 8 degree wing. Went back to struggling with creating speed and the hiccup giddyup scenario. Then sickness came - put me out of commission till yesterday evening (a full week). Used that time to research fin settings in this thread (pg10 and 12) and settled on these: Length: 6.6975 DFT: 1.067 Depth: 2.550 Wing: 8.5 Bf: 28.5. (Double Radar Carbitex) Height: 5’10” Weight: 165 Well, let me tell you, the ski had much better glide, cross course speed, and the turns were smooth and fast. Great angle generation without the “hiccup giddyup”. My elbow, shoulder, and hands were thanking me. I think my ski season just turned a corner, the best is yet to come.
  22. @MarcusBrown - that is golden! This advice hits home and is so pertinent to my skiing as well. The illustration of the high - line was awesome!
  23. Congrats Ed!! I still have buoys in the water from when I ordered buoys 7 years ago. Thanks for the support Ed!
