  1. Truth bomb by @ColeGiacopuzzi! Awesome way to explain that. I find that I am rushing things so much in skiing. When we think about the incremental steps at that point in time then it slows everything down. Thanks for the feedback Cole!
  2. @Tristan123 - if you have access to a welder you could spot weld / tack an Allen wrench head or bolt to the broken off bolt and try to get some leverage in that manner.
  3. @Mastercrafter - that is standard practice at our lake. Especially for first time skiers!
  4. If it is running hotter than you remember then I would check the raw water impeller. I know you put a new one in, but if it ingested something bad or got free of the bushing then it may not be pumping full flow through the engine.
  5. High water and windy today - at least where we were. Thinking there are probably areas that are protected from the wind. Just here on vacation for a few days.
  6. That would be a fantastic building block for the pyramid mentioned in the latest Spraymakers episode.
  7. A quick recovery @brody!!!
  8. Spot treat with copper sulfate works quite well, though I try to stay away from that if possible. That mostly means manual removal of the moss/weeds/scum in our swimming area. Another thing that helps is using an aerator/water fountain to keep our swim area from temperature stratification. The main lake we have steep enough sides to keep the weeds/moss close to the shore. The boat going through the course also keeps it stirred up pretty well. We use the Blue Sensient dye and that has helped keep the big algae blooms in control. This year I’m trying to keep the color a bit darker - the lake looks a lot better when it is dark blue.
  9. Look what came in the mail today! They look awesome! A competition and an R3.
  10. @Broussard - are you talking boats specifically or the overall marketplace? I’m referring to the overall marketplace, which will eventually “trickle down” to boat manufacturing.
  11. Demand is high for the moment - the problem now is parts availability. That is also driving prices higher. For the foreseeable future, I think there will be plenty of demand for ski boats. Good for us skiers.
  12. Ordered the Competition and the R3 yesterday. Can’t wait to give them a whirl - will be interesting to see how the different ropes affect skiing (or not).
  13. Anyone have a link to sign up?
  14. Where’s the BBQ in this whole thing? Jai Alai and Voodoo Ranger would be quite tasty with BBQ.
  15. I don’t think the survey asked how many children (if applicable) in your household are skiing. A subcategory would be at what level (recreation, beginner course, superstar course skier). That information could provide a broader sense of slalom skiing in general vs those who frequent BOS.
  16. So Ballers - what price point would make you want to buy an electric ski tug? Assuming performance (charging and life of battery) was 80% of gas powered boats would you be interested and intrigued enough to go for it? Forget the politics and tertiary talk we have heard already.
  17. Maybe the first entry was @dirt - for taking or allegedly taking some ski(s)!
  18. Most of the time I drop unless the water is super cold or there is a lot of chop in one direction.
  19. @DAKERS - you mentioned there isn’t much grade. Would a non motorized dolly work? We use a non motorized dolly in our shop to move boats around, it works very well and is easy to get the boats into tight spots. I don’t recall the make of ours but I would think there are trailer dollies for that specifically too. Sorry if this doesn’t help much.
  20. I’m just waiting for my ski to show up. Then I’ll gift my wife my C75 ;)
  21. @Fastguy888 - thank you for bringing this thread back to my original intent. As with everything new technology wise - it takes small incremental steps (with a giant leap every so often) to get where you want to go. As development of electrification continues (on land and water) we eventually will see that trickle down. At what pace that happens is anyone’s guess.
  22. I also noticed the registration sticker had the 2019 year on it. Something seems a bit fishy - @tlarocque maybe you saved yourself some headache. Though you are disappointed - something will come up.
  23. Espresso/Cappuccino and all things coffee. The funny thing is how similar these hobbies are. There are forums for our passion just like BallofSpray. We geek out on measurement methods just like we do with fin settings. The latest espresso machines and grinders will set you back as much as skis and if you really get into it as much as a used boat. The wonderful thing is I don’t have to stop enjoying this hobby in the winter.
