  1. In case they are not yet informed about it, they should have look at the World Waterski Rules 2021 V2, Article 1.10 IWWF License: “Following agreement by the IWWF World Congress held in 2019, the IWWF Executive Board approved the establishment of an IWWF Licence fee for 2021 where competitors in Ranking List and Record Capability competitions in each Sports Division of the IWWF would be required to hold the IWWF Licence. Based on the above decision, to compete in any IWWF "L", "R" "CP" or Titled event a skier must hold a valid IWWF license. A skier without a valid IWWF license cannot take part in those tournaments. It is requested that Federations ensure that all their athletes hold a valid IWWF License before participating in "L", "R" "CP" or Titled event.” Above is a portion of the email sent to the tournament director from IWWF official Peter Frei. This verifies it is not an option.
  2. @Horton Based on the discussion I had with the owner/tournament director of the site, for 2021, in order to ski in ANY R or L tournament, IWWF license is REQUIRED. It is not an option for ranking list only.
  3. Had to resurrect the topic based on recent reflection. As most tournaments in Florida are R or L (not E) here is the list of requirements I would need to ski my first tournament in 2022: 1. Join AWSA 2. Join Florida Federation 3. Take required Safe Sport seminar 4. Join IWWF 5. Pay entry fee for tournament Have already paid the "extortion fee" to IWWF to be able to ski in an R/L tournament here in Florida as I was told cannot ski without it. Not the fault of the site, but that is a lot of hoops through which to jump for 2 rounds of a slalom tournament next year. Tell these requirements to a newbie wanting to do his first tournament and he might just reply...I think I will skip it....too much trouble.
  4. Open men...36 mph, 58K.
  5. Have been over to Swiss this week a few times to ski and have watched the site prepare for the event. The place looks FANTASTIC and Vincent and crew have done a ton of work preparing for the webcast. Clint and the entire Swiss crew are certain to make this a not to be missed event.
  6. So sorry to hear of your injury..that sucks. I ruptured my ACL in my right leg at the age of 17. Never had it repaired. Granted have had stability issues playing basketball and other sports, but have run marathons, raced bicycles, done triathlons, snow skied and water ski ski and barefoot. Due to either over-use or lack of ACL, I have had 2 surgeries on slightly torn MMC and LMC . I am now 65 and do not give my knee a thought. Whatever your decision, best wishes for a full and rapid recovery so you can go back to doing all the sports your enjoy.
  7. For all tournaments, I ask what ropes will be used. A week before the tournament, I train with that specific rope. As an example, Swiss uses Syndicate ropes and Ski Fluid uses Master Line. The ropes feel completely different to me, both great ropes, just different.
  8. Respectfully, "being fed up", but still complying is acceptance.
  9. For a great understanding of why several of us are so opposed to this, I suggest reading one or both of the books written by Phillip Howard; "The Lost Art of Drawing the Line" and/or "The Death of Common Sense".
  10. I stand by calling out the hypocrisy of it all. @Horton, you said "this is all about protecting children. Nothing else". Then why would ANY legislator pass a law allowing any gender (yeah, I know, that is fluid) to use any rest room of the gender with which they identify? And at the same time stress the importance of legislation to "protect young kids"? In what universe does that, in any way, advance protecting children? It is totally illogical. I recognize this thread is dangerously close to breaking your protocol regarding politics, so I will post nothing further on the topic. I respect and thank you for this website and for what you do for the sport of water skiing.
  11. @Horton I am NOT making that leap....the legislators are. This is intellectually void. The law, signed by the Senate states the purpose of the law is to avoid the potential for abuse, yet these are the SAME law makers who signed a law stating any one can use a gender specific bathroom depending on how they "identify". Now, law makers claim they want to prevent or reduce the potential for abuse, but pass a law which arguably could potentially increase abuse, yet then pass another law to prevent abuse. Explain that to me...go ahead, I'll wait. And just for the record, my wife too is rather formidable and I would not worry about her at all. That is not to say others are not at greater risk
  12. I am going to side with @The_MS on this one. We are now required to take a SAFE SPORT course, yet can use any gender bathroom depending on how we identify that day??? Please.
  13. Any dilemonine based solvent will work very well. It is basically citrus based solvent.
  14. @skierjp My REV S sure does. Works great.
  15. Or slalom practice mode.
  16. @HollieMac Not trying to dispute skierjp as he knows all things correct craft, but my footing buddy typically has only a driver in the boat with the 200. We went out and footed the other day with 3 people in my boat and the footer on the boom with no spray. He was doing back deeps and tumble ups. I am not much of a boom guy, just long line, and have not experienced a 200 on the boom. I will admit, my 196 wake even with a 100 foot rope has a rather turbulent table for wake crossings, but it is tolerable.
  17. Have a bare footing buddy who has access to a 200, but when using a boom, claims there is a ton of spray from the bow. He went so far as to add an extension on the boom to avoid the spray on the 200. He much prefers my 196 when using a boom.
  18. If they do, I am ready to buy!!!!
  19. I always figured the writing in the torque box was the serial number. Best dang ski ever. This pic is after 3 solid years of use. Again, not the fault of the ski.
  20. Have to agree with @Horton longevity of skis. My T-3 was my all time favorite ski and did not want to move on....until it finally broke. Certainly not the fault of the ski. Tons of short line passes over 3 years is asking too much from ANY ski.
  21. 1995 Signature Nautique. Still looks good after all these years. Sold the boat and it is still in use in Indiana on Raccoon Lake.
  22. 4 sets this week and managed 12 passes on the 4th set. So lucky to live in central Florida now, but do remember the days of dry suits and ice cold water back in Indiana. Even though it was frigid, still loved it! You guys up North are tough!
