  1. There is also another thing about this ski. I have two friends both high level skiing on it and they are 3D printing different tails!!!
  2. So the first thing is let some air out of those bouys!! They look like beach balls. You can break a leg like that.
  3. i had a promo last year and the best way is make sure the tie rope is high to stay above the seadeck.
  4. I’m not sure what pro said this but he said there should not be a world record. There should be a course record. So seawalls, wind and current should not matter we need to go where people can see the sport.
  5. I don't even know how to start this, but here goes. Been skiing tournament for a long time. Been to nationals and qualify every year but haven't gone in a long time. I'm also on the promo team. There has been a lot of threads about building our sport and also the promo boat system. I feel like WE have to come at this from the other side, both on the building our sport and the promo boats, but I feel they are linked. When I started skiing there where 2 tournament near me that were not AWSA and on public water. 50% of the skiers either never saw a course or the only time was during this tournament. The had about 100 people at the tournament. Also my first tournament was on open water. Pretty nice spot for wind and boats, but still had them. Now every tournament that I go to is in a private pond. I and all of us love skiing on a pond. Perfect water, no wind, warm and soft. Usually in the middle of a field but always with nobody watching except skiers and their family's. So if we want to build our sport we need to have events where the people are. Next is the boats. I hear a lot of what are they going to do for us, but what are we doing for them? I did a factory tour last week. It was very cool and I loved it, but was very sad to hear how few "ski" boat are being made. They are mostly wake/surf boats. So what are we doing in our sport to support the manufactures and dealers. The biggest problem with the old Promo program was that it bypassed the dealers. All of us skiers would never go to a dealer to buy a boat, we would look for a promo boat to buy. Also we now do all of our tournaments on man made ponds with no spectators or TV coverage why would any of them want to have a promo boat there. I have this place in my town that would be a good site for a tournament and there is a summer festival every July. I think about running a tournament there all the time, but I know all the skier will hate the current, backwash and wind, including me. The one tournament that does this is Moomba. That is what we need to do. Just my two cents.
  6. I have a friend i ski with and he has a floating course. You can drive by the course in a car and see the pipes are bent from current on one side of the course sometimes 10'. It makes distance between bouys wrong and messes me up so bad. He runs great on it. The sad part is he runs just as good in tournaments. fyi he is a pro.
  7. @lpskier is Dube's swim as bad as VT? Or Ogdensburg in current?
  8. #chef23 Funny you should say that. I had a Goode XTM and now that i'm back on it I feel like home!!
  9. #skispray I was on Goode power shells and hit a roller on my way from 3 to 4 and the ski came away from the plate, but the plate hit the water and wanted to go flat so it broke my ankle.
  10. I was skiing my best about 5 years ago and broke my leg pretty bad. I said "I don't want to see that ski again!" and sold it. I have tried a bunch of skis over the last 5 years and keep saying that I skied on that ski the best. So after 5 years of trying new stuff I broke down and found an old one and purchased it. From the first set on it I felt like I could ski again!! Anyone else ever go back to old faithful?
  11. I live in upstate NY and we have cold water. I have heard everything for cold water. boots back, boots forward more depth, more wing. The one that I have found to work is when it gets cold move fin back.
  12. @Than_Bogan don't make fun of the Vermont Triathlon. 2 mile hike, 1 set of slalom and 1 mile swim!!
  13. I'm not going this year, but its a great tournament! You will have a great time.
  14. I am on week 1 and feel the same way. Killer off side and loving the ski!!
  15. @Horton you look great on ski. My credit card would hate me if they had skis to send!!
  16. I would say both, But if had to choose I would go with heated seats. And I live in northern NY.
  17. I have always used option B. Like you said just have to be consistent.
