  1. @klindy there were tricks and jump? JUST KIDDING! Good points that both those events were at par so to speak.
  2. @RAWSki the CP's I have driven are all on private lakes. I am ok with driving one, I have gotten GREAT rides behind @robscholl-OF . If I lived on a private lake and had 1 or 2 guys that were going to be my ski buds, maybe. But, I don't have experienced enough drivers on a daily basis for me to buy a CP. I need the "on a rail" boat where I know even a limited experience driver can give a decent tow. My order of best to worst tracking is: Nautique, Malibu, Mastercraft, Centurion. I would likely choose one of the other brands based on my needs.
  3. Water Temp 59, air 59....... Wind at about 10 MPH down course. Still hoping for a few more times.........
  4. @MISkier likley! LOTS OF SPRAY!
  5. @Wish probably should re-word that. Took a boat from mastercraft, made a mold from it, and then basically made the same dam hull below waterline that is. Try skiing one, pretty darn if not exactly the same as the mid 80's mastercraft stuff.
  6. I seem to think this was more of a copy/steal back. Since Bayliner (Quality Boats that they are.....) stole the hull mold back in the 80's, how more fitting than to steal that cutting edge windshield and wide rear end......... With that said, it is my son's FAVORITE BOAT (The new prostar that is).
  7. @Horton conflicts? Like one or the other might get pissed and not send you free garb? Seems like I know both of them well enough to know they are Big Boys and could handle it. Neither have anything to do with Centurion............. Radar Lake is MUCH nicer than GOODE Ski Lake. Facts are facts on that one. Although I have never skied in Ogden. I'd offer our swamp, but that sounds less likely than RADAR....... So question again? What site in Seattle? Just curious.
  8. What site in Seattle, WA? You should get RADAR to open up the lake. Only been lucky enough to ski there a handful of times.
  9. @Orlando76 I am a band director...... pay my flight and entry and my band is in!
  10. http://www.nautique.com/events/us-open just starting....... National Anthem is always better with sound........ hope they fix audio.......
  11. Tell us when it pulls a world record in slalom.......... BUT, if I got one for free, it would be the best boat out there!
  12. I like the centurion, have a fair bit of experience driving the 2014 and 2015 versions, but honestly couldn't buy one even if it was $20,000 less. While I am glad the clunk is gone for 2016, it is the tracking that would keep me from buying one. @jimbrake I disagree. Of my regular practice drivers on my river, I have 2 drivers out of 8 that I ski with regularly that I feel would give a really good ski ride with the centurion. My wife would drive it enough to get used to it, and @Deanoski would get it dialed in. Not to say the others are bad drivers, they just don't have as much experience and I rely on them just trying to drive straight. If I was on a private lake and had the same 1-2 guys driving me all the time, they would get used to the way it tracks, but my scenario puts all sorts of drivers behind the wheel, many that would only drive the boat a few sets a year. I would never get the same slalom ride. The other brands are just too far ahead in this one area and ensure me a better ski under less than ideal driving conditions. I have not driven a 2016 yet, so when they fix the tracking, let me know................
  13. I got to drive 2 tournaments this year with end course. I definitely learned more at those two tournaments than at all the others, as far as my driving goes. I realized that I was not in the same place I thought I was in my head. Got good feedback and worked on correcting it. I think most everyone is somewhat surprised after driving with end course. Being an assistant driver, I want to work on perfecting my driving. I also enjoyed watching my driver on the flat screen before I skied. One case, I felt so confident in the driver and the boat, I went out on the water knowing I would run 38. THANKS @rwskier ! He was so dead on with the camera, I just knew it was gonna be a GREAT RIDE!
  14. Can't wait. My family will ski regionals then vacation a bit and ski nationals. Way to go B. Young, Sam L. and Terry W plus lots of others!
  15. Zbox is better than pro by far in getting you closer to the feel of ZO
  16. ZO is nice, but I train on a 196 with SG W/ZBox....... it is not a game changer if you know how to dial it in, and drive it. I have a real nice 2003 CC 196 loaded with ZBox......... make me an offer........
  17. I'd spend a LOT of time skiing with the guy that runs 39.5! I'd do anything he tells you to do. Skiing with guys that can run 38 or better is where you want to be. Not that a lesser skier can't help you, but watching a great skier is going to pay off. Take his coaching and apply it. Hell, I would ski on the ski he skis on. Has he helped set up your ski? Is he on this forum? Might we know him?
  18. Well, I won't share my story......... But, I agree on changing up the routine. I would say run buoys run buoys WITH THE GATES. Start at a speed you can run the pass and run as many passes as you can with good technique, no scrapping. What boat and ski equipment are you on? Who are the others that you are skiing with? What can they run?
  19. @aupatking when ever you find a boat with "PV" on the bow........ I would likely walk away. In NY State that stands for public vessel. Basically kids camps, schools, and stuff like that. I worked for a camp for a while...... NEVER would have bought a boat from them! Buyer Be Ware!
  20. Moral of the story...... buy from a company that lets you try multiple skis until you are happy. I am always pleased with the outcome when I do this. Any my buoy count is pleased too!
  21. Great thing about a few businesses and a few ski manufacturers is that they will keep building you skis until you feel the best fit. So if you think you might be on the wrong size ski, you could try a different size. I had an XT that was for all intensive purposes too big for me. I loved it. Now moved back to the correct/recommended size of the flex tail. Works even better. BUT the correct sized XT never worked well for me. I revisited that this spring when I skied on it for a few weeks waiting on the flextail to arrive. It was hard to run 35 on it, and I never got thru a 38 on it. So, not sure it is all about size.............. Maybe some engineer can enlighten us all?
  22. @SkiJay interested in kids set ups for sure......
  23. I got an invite to ski in the Big Dawg Finals this year (Assuming they are a little under their desired entries). I AM A BIG FAN OF THE BIG DAWG! I am a pretty diehard skier, but here is my 2 cents. Too far away, too little skiing, 4 buoys, Florida critters, I can watch skiing on my tablet for way less............. Now I am a die hard, what about the people that only half care or don't even understand the sport? Why would they even drive 30 minutes? Honestly, this sport is like watching chess! If it wasn't for the businesses that support this sport, it would dry up and go bankrupt (That is my hunch).
  24. @FWinter agreed on what you say for sure. I do believe there are instances where a small tweak in fin/binding can allow someone with reasonable technique to transition into a better position and actually aid their skiing. Honestly, I felt that in my last ski purchase. Something in the ski or the set up, allowed me to move through the turn with my hips better than before and allowed me to stay better connected. Since then I have been tweaking a little here and there with bindings to adjust for conditions and keep that feeling alive.
